I have always been infatuated with stories. I loved reading them, and even illustrating them since I was young... but a sudden turn of events and a wild idea were what started this writing spree I have indulged myself in for many fruitful years.
Now, I have delved into the "Land of No Return" - FANFICTION. Six years ago, I may have laughed at the idea that I would be writing fiction whose characters I didn't even create. Slam Dunk. Sendoh x Rukawa. What more could I say? For me, they are just perfect! In fact, it was my introduction to the complex world of yaoi as well.
If one asked if I regret all the seemingly (at least, to my parents and some friends) pointless and wasted time pondering over stuff and putting ideas into writing, then editing until the wee hours of the morning, I would readily say "NO." In capital letters. I actually find it gratifying making up these scenarios and making them work in stories. Also, I regard fanfiction-writing as something that would entertain many people all around the world who hunger for an interpretation of their dormant fantasies, acting as an instrument, enabling them to throw away their self-doubts and wash away their insecurities - enough for them to evaluate themselves and try making up their own stories and putting them into writing.
I may not be the best writer out there (In fact, I'm still in midst of finding direction in writing), but seeing brilliant young minds starting to come out of their own writing shells emerge is good enough for me to continue, improving myself in the process.
For my fellow writers and those thinking about starting their own writing sprees, keep up the good work and I hope you find as much enjoyment in doing so the same way I do!
