"The boy will be named Shinji; the girl will be named Rei." What happens if the anime started the same way, but with Shinji and Rei as twins? This doesn't mean all will be smiles and giggles. While this isn't a fix-it fic that veers far away from canon, it'll subvert tropes, have some sweet moments, and match the tone of the show.

Asuka and Shinji have been together as friends since childhood, and she'd always sort-of assumed they would be together forever. But the mysterious Rei Ayanami transfers into their school, and suddenly Asuka's peaceful adventure in love is ruined! Will she be able to make Shinji hers? Or will she lose to that red-eyed temptress?

Catalysts. They determine the summoning of Heroic Spirits. The whims of fate in the Fourth Holy Grail War result in a different set of Servants. The Tohsaka family obtains a relic for a hero of India. The Matou summon a hero from Victorian England. The Einzberns get a very different King Arthur. These Servants will alter the destines of those in the Fourth War.

In her dying moments, Misato is brought into Instrumentality, and her final wish creates a new universe of her own. In this fantasy, she is the same age as Shinji during the angels' return. Perhaps here, with her as an Eva pilot, everyone can have a second chance. But she is not the only one leading a different life.

After an Angel attack, Shinji and friends somehow, against all logic and common decency, get genderflipped. Will Shinji master walking in a skirt? And why did Ritsuko mix Kool-Aid with the LCL? (A fair bit of raunchy humour and transgender themes; do not read if you are offended by such things)

While desperately searching for a way back home, he worries that he might not survive a far more brutal Angel War than what he expected. The Angels are the least of his concerns, however, when he tries to change things for the better and realizes he's woefully out of his depth.

Humans and Angels cannot coexist. One species must eliminate the other in order to inherit the world... or, you know, they could just find another planet. This is a tale of hope and friendship. It is also a story about a bunch of weird stuff happening on Mars.

Sarah Kerrigan was left for dead in New Gettysburg until Alaya intervened. Now, she's bonded to a smart-mouthed, white haired mysterious man. And what the hell is this about her being a magus?

Heavily AU. Thanks to a cold, humanity never discovers the Prothean ruins on Mars, and barely develops Mass Effect technology. They step out onto the galactic stage after the Reapers have harvested every other species, and find the crumbs left behind by the turians, asari, and salarians. Now they must adapt to fight a foe who won't be seen for far longer than human history.

Shepard thought that controlling the reapers at the end of Mass Effect 3 offered the greatest chance at bringing a lasting and happy peace to the galaxy, even if it cost her her own being. But it would seem that her story didn't end with firing the Crucible. This story is based on my other work 'Transitions', but is in a separate continuity. Rated M for violence, and language.
