Author has written 24 stories for Criminal Minds, Higher Ground, and Castle.
Hi! My name is falcon-121, as you can see, but feel free to just call me falc. I came here because I started writing some Criminal Minds fanfics not too long ago, and I was looking for an easier place to post than the CBS Message Boards. I'm a huge fan of CM, especially JJ (Jennifer Jareau), so you will notice that most of my stories and avatars will revolve around her in some way.
DISCLAIMER I do not own Criminal Minds, Higher Ground, or Castle. I do not have a beta, so all mistakes in my fanfics are my own.
COMPLETED FANFICS (MULTI-CHAPTER):
"The Story of Bizarro Rossi": A Criminal Minds spoof involving the whole team. This was the first fanfic that I wrote. It is a prequel to Lost Files.
"Criminal Minds Confidential: The Lost Files": JJ and Hotch go on what is supposed to be a relaxing vacation, but will they survive when disaster strikes? Meanwhile, the rest of the team works on a grisly case in San Jose. This is the sequel to my spoof, Bizarro Rossi, but it takes a more serious tone. The mood is more like that of an actual episode, a good balance of seriousness and comic relief. A lot of focus on JJ and Hotch (friendship only, I don't really ship any of the characters), particularly early on, but I make an effort to involve all the characters in some way. Also there were two cases in this one, and though writing the team split up was challenging, it was also rewarding.
"Secrets": A case in Seattle reveals JJ's dark past. My first crossover. This is the first part to a crossover between Criminal Minds and Higher Ground (both shows that A.J. Cook stars/starred in). This part focuses on a case that hits close to home with JJ and how she reacts to it. The next part, which I won't be able to start on for a while (unfortunately) will involve looking into her past. As a result, "Secrets" is very Criminal Minds-heavy, while its sequel will be more focused on Higher Ground.
May 30, 2010: I have deleted two of the fics that I started on from my profile today. The truth is that I wasn't getting anywhere with any of these ("Welcome Home" and "New Beginnings"), and I'd hate for more people to read and wait for updates when I have no clue when I'll be updating. Life has gotten busy lately, but that isn't a good excuse. I know this is a bit of a tease (giving a few chapters and then stopping). I didn't intend it to be that way and I'm sorry if it has frustrated anyone. In the future, I may have to consider writing out the whole story (or at least more than one chapter) before posting anything to avoid months going by without updating. Again, I apologize and thank my loyal readers for your continued support and understanding! Love you guys!
On a side note, I may be getting a fictionpress account pretty soon. I'm considering writing some stories with my own OFC's. Writing CM fanfiction has been amazing and I'm not planning on stopping completely (may still write some one-shots at least, and perhaps some longer stuff), but I think working with my own characters could be a fun test of how far I've come. I'll provide a link to my page on here when I've gotten to that point. I'm looking forward to summer; I'm staying optimistic that I'll be able to find some time to write between work and stuff. Thanks again for all of your patience and support!
December 4, 2010: It has been far too long since the last time that I have visited here or written anything. I'm in college now, so that has kept me busy. I wish I could say that I'll be updating "Exposed" soon, since I know that there are multiple people who want to know where I am going with that, but I have no idea when I'll be writing again.
With that being said, I would like to take this time to thank everyone who voted for my fics in the 2010 Profiler's Choice CM Awards! I'm proud to say that "Burnout" tied for Best Hotch/Morgan Fic, and I owe that to all of the support that I've received here! Thank you very much! A special thanks to ilovetvalot and tonnie2001969 for starting up the Awards and providing me with the lovely avatar that I am currently using!
Hopefully I will come up with something soon, even if it is a small holiday surprise. Either way, happy holidays to everyone!
April 27, 2011 (3:30 AM): Been a long while since I've been on here, and it is very early (or late, I suppose), so don't expect this to make much sense. With my first year of college a week away from completion, however, I felt that I should make a bit of an update here. You will notice that I posted a one-shot titled "Scarlet Torment" tonight, which is my first attempt at any fic completely unrelated to CM. What can I say? Castle has hooked me in, and the characters are way too fun not to play around with for a while. I may be experimenting with Castle more, since it has gotten me inspired to get back into fanfic for the first time in a while.
As for those of you waiting for "Exposed," I will attempt to get busy on that over the summer. Getting excited for CM writing has been difficult for me this year, since I have stopped watching the show. However, the good news of A.J. returning to the show may be enough to light a fire under me to start up again. I am rusty, and I will need a little time to review some of Higher Ground again, since I want to be as familiar with Shelby's and Scott's storylines as possible in order to write in-character. I probably won't leave it unfinished, because "Secrets" is still the fic that I take the most pride in and it does deserve a conclusion. However, please be patient with me, because it will not be easy for me to write. I do not mind encouragement to continue, because it can be quite helpful, but please keep in mind that it probably won't be something that I'll be updating everyday because I doubt it is going to flow that easily from my fingertips. I refuse to rush it because I want it to remain a quality piece, so be patient with me. Also realize that I am a very different person than I was a year ago, and it could change my perception on some things. I will be reading over what I have wrote and trying to stay consistent with that mindset, but I have to scratch and claw my way back to that style of writing, and I am not sure that I will be able to match it perfectly.
On a side note, my work schedule for the summer is completely up in the air right now, so I do not know exactly how much free time I will have on my hands. I have also been working (very slowly) on my first feature-length OFC piece (yes, that's right, falc is finally dabbling in the world of his own created characters instead of mooching off of others, no matter how fun that is). That project has been a joy to write so far, and so "Exposed" will have to compete for my interest and vie for my time. I will attempt to make time for both (or just put "Exposed" on the front-burner, since I have neglected it for too long and actually have readers for it currently), but I do not know exactly how I am going to approach both projects at once yet. Again, I ask for your patience, and thank you for the incredible patience and support that you have shown me so far! Have a wonderful Wednesday! ~Falc
July 3, 2011 (8:10 PM): So I officially have a fictionpress account under the same pen name as my fanfic account. There is apparently a two day delay before I can post, but once that is up, I will start posting my original fiction piece that I have been working on, titled "Gang Tackle." Never fear, this does not mean that I am done with fanfiction. I still have "Exposed" to finish, and I have another idea that I've been working on. However, I've been working on this original piece for a while, and I'm very excited to post it. So please keep your eyes peeled for that, as well as my updates here!
