Author has written 1 story for Sookie Stackhouse/Southern Vampire Mysteries.
I have been lurking around reading fan-fiction over the years, but have never before taken the plunge and written anything. With most stories that interest me, I tend to write in my head, but never put anything down on paper. For some reason just I couldn't let this one go.
I guess I'm just trying to write what I want to read!
That said, I have also avoided writing because I am totally terrified to put myself out there. I welcome constructive criticism; please let me know if anything seems rushed or unclear! Also, I am beta-less, so if there are typos or grammar errors, I apologize. If you catch them, send me a message (or a comment, but I'll delete it once I fix the mistake. Nobody wants it advertized that they messed up!) Honestly though, if the characterization or tone is off in my story, it is because I couldn't do it any other way!
I hope whoever reads my story enjoys it.
Notes, Updates and General Comments
A quick note about this story that won't fit into the tiny 'about' section FF.net gives. This is an AU re-do of the SVM series, but since Sookie goes back in time, we are going to see the exact same events (mostly) in a new way. I am going to try to get through all of the books, or at the very least tie up any loose ends they create.
At several points I integrate some story or plot points from True Blood. I usually mention these at the bottom of the entry, but sometimes not. No plagiarism is meant; I simply can't seem to keep the two totally separate in my mind. That said, the story will remain true to the books, not the show (i.e. there won't be any townspeople with all black eyes etc). On that note, there are a lot of great things in True Blood that will not be in this story (hence it being in the SVM section). Many characters that get a lion's share of plot in the show (Tara, Terry, Arlene, Andy, Jason...) will get somewhat less than supporting roles. It's not that I don't like them, but the focus of this story is Sookie, followed closely by Sookie/Eric. That isn't to say that these characters don't show up, but they are not the focus :)
Update 9/1/09: So, I started writing this story in the summer, and posted like crazy for over a month. Now I'm back in grad school, and it's taking up most of my time. I thought I could still do an update a week, but the creative juices just aren't flowing like they did when I had the time off from work and school. I hope to still update a couple times a month; to all of you that are patiently awaiting another update: thanks for sticking with the story!
Newer Update 12/20/09:So I have FINALLY updated! I'm so sorry for giving false promises in terms of how much I thought I could write during school. So, no more estimets about how much I can get done. All I will say is thanks for reading, and I will do my best to keep it coming.
Newery Update 12/24/10: I am now out of school, and trying to adjust to "real life." Finding time to write has been very difficult, but I promise to keep trying. This story won't be a WIP forever!
