Welcome, welcome Hogwarts! Welcome hotties, nerds, and tools.
Hey people! Thank you for visiting my profile. Though for now I have only a few one-shots, a short story, and two incomplete stories, I hope to achieve those long, glorious lists some authors are famous for. Answer my poll, read my stories, and come again! (all stories, for future reference, have the R & R policy, and I do not get money for this. Also, I'm very picky about what I put on my Favorite list. If it's there, it's because I consider it extraordinary and I basically just love it. Favorite Author is a title reached when I consider all of that author's stories extraordinary.)
As of 8/06/10, I am one of the four founders of Fanfictioners Against World Hunger, which entails donating free rice through Free Rice dot com. It's a fun and easy way to help the world and improve yourself...
I, Loonynamelass, am one of about 20 members of
Luna Lovegood by far outstrips all other characters of all the chronicles of Harry Potter. Although she only appears in the last three books, her awesomosity cannot be denied. She can see through Polyjuice disguises ("oh, just your expression"), is open-minded to new ideas, feels completely comfortable with herself and can face reality with ease, is loyal to her friends and family, and is finally very direct and determined.
Before she came along in Book 5, it was Hermione Granger, but in Luna I have found everything that was lacking in Hermione, among their shared traits. On a related note, I don't appreciate Ron-bashing (a. k. a. portraying him as a cruel, utterly stupid, irresponsible, abusive demon). Or unreasonable Snape-bashing, actually. He's sacrificed a lot, and after DH should not be portrayed as an entirely evil character. He is flawed, but he has blinding determination, strength, and ingenuity.
My best friend calls me a read-aholic. It's most likely true.
I don't like the term bookworm. Worms are little annelids (gah leeches) or flatworms (gah tapeworms) or roundworms (um...). Their invertebrate bodies are small and hated by many, except the earthworm, who is loved by Professor Sprout, my next door neighbor, biology teachers, and many other people. Worm can be used as an insult, like "you little worm" or something. I mean, why can't it be book-dragon, or book-butterfly, or book-blob? And thank you Raggedygal for suggesting bookwyrm.
Okay, I won't harp on about terminology anymore.
What else is there to say? I breathe through my nose whenever possible... I eat breakfast regularly, and all my other meals too... I sleep as much as my alarm clock will allow me... My heart beats whenever it wants too.
Oh yeah, and my bug bites are itchy! dhdfwevgekfs! Random spasmodic outbursts can be expected.
Hmm... I recently discovered A Very Potter Musical (and A Very Potter Sequel!). It is... totally awesome. It's different as can be from the movie. You have just got to get back to Hogwarts and spend a little time by youtube and Starkidpotter. All the random quotes are from it. Also, HP-Lexicon is really cool. There are four essays on it that I really like, entitled Ginny Weasley, Why?, Harry Potter's Astrological Birth Chart, Ginny Weasley: A Gryffindor and a Match for Harry, and Dumbledore viviens Snapeque bonamicus. (Note added 5-1-10: Legally Blonde the Musical is fantastic as well, though completely unrelated to Harry Potter)
When I rule the world, I'll plant flowers... and Jane Austen novels.
I'm AM writing a Twilight/Harry Potter crossover now; even though I despise Twilight, I had a nap and dreamed this idea for it... It was like it was prophetic... Have you ever noticed that sometimes you have different kinds of dreams from the position you sleep in? I once planned out a commercial for one of those hand held Global Positioning Systems, in the same position that I had dreams about the crossover. I think I should dub that the creative position. I also have a stressful position and a deep position. Anyway, that fic isn't really my top priority right now. First and foremost in my mind is the Draco Diaries (sorry about the wait, but I seem to have misplaced my HBP book). UPDATE from 03-15-10: Two edits: One, I'm pretty crazy about Favorite write now, so TDD isn't quite as foremost. Also, I have had ANOTHER FANFIC PLAN DREAM! It's totally awesome and Bourne-style (or at least it was in my dream) but I am forbidding myself from starting it until I finish TDD. So I have lots of options for to write next! There's Tell Me a Story, the Hedwig one I've planning for ever, and then this! Awesome, right?
Breaking out into the dun-dun-dun-dun-dun-duuun-dun Six Flags commercial dance (Venga bus!) is also perfectly normal
My bug bites are no longer itchy. Although one of them is oozing pus. I should do something about that...
You can try to break me down, but sorry, guys, I'm sticking around!
Hello. It's February 2nd, 2010! I've decided that I want to make a more organized and detailed profile.
First of all, about my fanfics: (#= amount of chapters / c= complete / w= writing or working on it right now / order= no order anymore...)
67w. The Draco Diaries: Ah, yes. A comprehensive and completely canon account of seven years at Hogwarts from the lovely Draco Malfoy. The entries range from jovial to dark as this dynamic character is caught in the delicately spun plot that Joanne K. Rowling has created for him. Perhaps the skeleton is hers, but now this steadily updated tale of mine has fleshed out a boy, a lovable but terribly flawed character. Through his diary, you learn to appreciate his entire being and take the bad with the human. Now on the last book! Goal for completion is basically as soon as humanly possible!
92w. Drastic Drabbles: The Canon Romance: My first set of drabbles ever, and they mostly take place in the future of the characters. I got the "Drastic" part of the title from Draco and Astoria, because they are one of those canon romances that really have nothing for them except that Jo said so. The only other ones that comes to mind are Luna and Rolf, and Neville and Hannah. As of 8/12/10, I have branched out to include even such non-Weasley clan pairings... As of 2/19/11, there are 18 different canon pairings represented. Currently, most of them involve romance, though I have joined a gen drabble competition and include those drabbles in this collection.
1c. Reflections: My first one-shot ever, it's very simple and sweet. Dramione fluff, a little Loonynameless style plucked on. Also the only story that's not strictly IC and canon.
1c. Choices: Mmm. I'm proud of this one. It's very... insightful, you could say. Albus Potter is a character we know little about other than his nerves about being sorted. Why, Rowling has hardly given him a character at all! So I've written a little one-shot about his ride on the Hogwarts Express, ending with almost a bit of reader-interaction.
1c. An Essay: Usually in one-shots you cannot see the title of the chapter, so I'll tell you what this one is titled. "Inexcusably Odd." It describes Professor Vector's reaction, the essay in question, and the whole of the fanfic. Even by Loonynamelass standards, this is inexcusably odd, though I do love it, of course. You have been warned.
2w. Sensibly Sinister: Previously known as HighDefinition, this contains both of my most recent one-shots, but fairly short each. This is a first in a few things, but first "first" first, for once the phrase "high definition" (or "righteous and rich") isn't used anywhere in the fanfic. Next: Centers on a character that I haven't done much... well, any work on at all, but I did do my best to portray these delicate characters well... This was going to be just one one-shot, perhaps with a complementary one-shot about another theory I have about Tom's reasons, but only about Tom. Now, with some brainstorming about other evil people I could represent, I've decided to add on a few chapters. And maybe with a Pirates of the Caribbean cameo.
10c. Favorite: Rather than just leave James as a shallow trouble-maker like his twin uncle or his unfortunately deceased grandfather, I decided to make a different sort of interpretation. It's like the Draco Diaries in that I wanted to really explore the human character of these characters, rather than leave them at the description of a few adjectives. I actually devoted a lot of time to this one, and not giving the Draco Diaries as much attention as I should've. This is a new experience for me because the Draco Diaries is forced along by J. K. Rowling, but this story is entirely me, and I think it's my best writing yet. It's now complete!
5h. Tell Me a Story: The story in question will not continue for a while. Due to my fixation on the Draco Diaries and the above story, I will not be updating this one for a long time. My only non-Harry Potter story.
5c. Skipped: Please do not ignore the HG/RW part of this, and do not send me flames, because personal attacks are irrelevant, profanity is rude, and CAPS LOCK OVERLOAD is irritating. Thank you! I did add a chapter to make for a smoother transition, but I have also realized that fools will be fools no matter what I do.
So, there's a little guide beyond my little limited summaries/teasers. If you read them, please review them! Also, I now have a FictionPress account, wallfairy! I've dashed a few poems here and there, if you'd like to read them.
So I'm done. Yes. Enjoy your life, but enjoy my stories first! :P
