Author has written 6 stories for Harry Potter, Pride and Prejudice, Vampire Diaries, and Labyrinth.
My penname: Mandarin for i love to read books, or something like that...
I also now have an account on AO3 under the penname Severuslily169, and have moved some of my stories over there. The formatting particularly for the poem is better over there if you want to have a looK!
Darcy can't sway elizabeth bennet: Ok, I got a couple of reviews and it seems this needs a bit more explanation. To answer one of my reviewers yes I am a monash medical student - that is where I learnt DCSEB. The whole idea started when one of my friends (ChocolateIsMyDrug) came up with the sentence "darcy cant sway elizabeth bennet' to try and remember the mnemonic (which actually stands for Differences noted, Categorisation occurs etc - the 'chapter' names). Basically DCSEB is a mnemonic to help us understand stigma, and the process of how discrimination occurs. There are actually all those different stages mentioned! Of course, usually the entire process takes place within a matter of minutes. Anyway, after ChocolateIsMyDrug came up with that mnemonic I started tossing up ideas for a fanfic based on that. Initially I planned to write a longer fic than that, but I suddenly wrote the oneshot during swotvac and thought "hmm... i probably shouldnt be spending any more time on this right now..."... I may or may not write a longer version of it in the future.
The Hunt for Horcruxes: Long since abandoned, I only ever wrote two chapters of that when I was 14. Do not intend on finishing it but feel free to take the idea and run with it. Link me if you do because I wouldn't mind reading it!
My result for The Sorting Hat Test ...
Slytherin! You scored 44% Slytherin, 20% Ravenclaw, 24% Gryffindor, and 36% Hufflepuff!
Things I like:
Bollywood movies especially. They have good acting, good plots, good dancing and good music! Perfect!
My fav bollywood actors are:
My fav bollywood actresses are Rani Mukherji (the only reason I liked dil bole hadippa) and sometimes Preity Zinta. And I like Kajol always!! I used to like Aishwarya Rai but I realised that Miss Universe aside shes not actually that special...
I also like Tamil movies, though not as much as Bollywood. Tamil comedies are better than Bollywood though! (the only bollywood comedy i attempted was hungama. soooo bad!! whereas tamil has kadhala kadhala, and avvai shanmughi is totally awesome!) Other favourites within Tamil include Roja, Autograph and Ai Ni Rhomba Azhaga Irujey.
My fav tamil actor by far is Kamal Hasan. He is quite as versatile as Shah Rukh Khan! Only thing is that he tends to be more comic whereas SRK is a lot more serious. He can do poor guys, rich guys, funny guys, serious guys, guys dressing up as women, blind/deaf/dumb guys, and multiple roles. I think hes record is 10 characters in one movie... Plus he can sing and dance as well - most people can either sing OR act not both - and he is one of the few successful child actors ever!
I also like "superstar" rajini. he is much more limited than kamal; he always acts the same sort of heroes - but his movies are always entertaining and worth watching... although not the sort of movies I rewatch again and again.
Do NOT like vijay. Have no idea why he is so popular with my generation.
I don't really have any fav tamil actresses. I like a lot of them but quite frankly they all look really similar to me! I keep asking my mum "is that the actress from ..." and shes like "no thats the actress from ..." and im like what really? But apparently I look like jothika - the actress in chandramukhi - and i like her! oh and she reminds me, another actor that i like is surya (from pithamagan and other movies).
Harry Potter: Anybody who doesnt like harry potter is in my opinion insane. (Well, apart from a friend of mine who is a jehovah's witness and not allowed to read fantasy on religious grounds. Whatever my opinion of her religion she is not insane and apart from my obsession with fantasy we share a lot in common.) So expect a large percentage of my fics to be HP related!
Lord of the Rings: An absolute classic. The first chapter was hard to get through but I managed to do it by the time I was 12, and let me just say, as awesome as the LOTR movies were they were nothing on the book! I totally love Aragorn's character from that book(s). As far as Im concerned though LOTR is sacrosanct and I won't be writing any LOTR fanfics.
The Wheel of Time: A little known but well written fantasy series which I fell in love with from book one. RIP Robert Jordan, who died before the series was completed. I really hope that Brandon Sanderson is up to the task of completing these series. I wont be doing fanfics of these either, I am nowhere near good enough to do that!
I love any and all of Jane Austen's writing, although Pride and Prejudice is my favourite. Elizabeth Bennet is by far the best of her heroines. Although I'm undecided about whether Mr Darcy or Mr Knightley is the better hero... Darcy is more passionate but Knightley is nicer haha... whatever, i love them both!
I also have a love-hate relationship with Twilight. I am totally hooked... however Edward is kind of ... you know. He's a "creepy stalker, way too possessive, over-protective, sexist, manipulative (thanks ChocolateIsMyDrug for so concisely summing him up)" and bella is scarily dependant on him. Jake has a point with the whole "abusive teenage relationships" comment in Eclipse. Yet despite all this I'm on team Edward, in terms of the plotline. Why? Well maybe I'm crazy. But Im also a sucker for the whole true love forever thing... sigh damn it. Plus theres also the fact that i don't really like bella that much and i thought jacob deserved better... definetely he deserved better than a mutant half vampire kid from his rival. That would be like Snape falling in love with Lily's kid (I mean if she had survived and had a girl), ew! But in terms of who I liked better yeah I'm team Jacob. Ok I probably am crazy haha I just wrote that Edward sucks and that I don't like Bella, yet I got hooked onto a series revolving around them...
The Vampire Diaries: both the books and the tv show are far superior to twilight, and unfortunately only became popular after twilight made vampires cool. But I loved LJ Smith long before Twilight existed and I still do. I really wish they don't give away her books to a ghostwriter! Damon is my favourite character (again with the bad good guys!) and I liked how LJ seemed to be leading to a happy ending for him with Bonnie, and I don't think a ghostwriter would take the same route as the reason that LJ got kicked off is because of her portrayal of Damon *cries*. Even better than Vampire Diaries though is her other series - The Forbidden Game series. I found myself feeling so bad for Julian; despite my bad-good guy fetish I still knew that it was always Jenny and Tom not Jenny and Julian, but its so sad to know that Julian has no chance! But its the ending that really got to me, how he sacrificed himself to save Jenny and her friends from his 'family'.
Mahabharata: An indian myth thing which makes a reeaally long epic book in sanskrit. I however read a relatively short english translation version - which may be why I actually like it come to think of it. The story is pretty complicated... basically theres a group of princes from two sides of the family. The "evil" side headed by Duryodhana wants complete control of the kingdom and finds ways to get rid of the other side. This eventually leads to a war in which Krishna (supreme godhead and whatnot) fights alongside the "good side". Well obviously the good side wins. But... my favourite character is Duryodhana. I actually do have a reasonable excuse for this though, it's not just a case of me liking the bad boy. In the book, the scene where he dies shows that he is in fact a really great and noble king, and a lot of events in the book show that the war was really orchestrated by his evil! uncle Sakuni and he was only a puppet. And while the whole thing with his cousin princes was taking place he really was revered by the people that he ruled, which after all is the real marking of a good king. Plus the so-called good guys really piss me off! The whole war starts because Draupadi is upset at being humiliated by Duryodhana's brothers - but shes not mad at her husbands who bet her in the first place and gave their cousins the right to do whatever they liked with her! Aargh! And the 'good guys' win the war through a bunch of underhanded tactics, but they're pardoned for it because they're following god's/krishna's will in doing so! But by that logic so was Duryodhana and co., seeing as technically god orchestrated everything! This is why I'm an atheist... OK I'll stop my rant there. Mainly because most people that end up reading this wont know what the hell Im on about.
FRIENDS!!!!! I can't believe I forgot this in my original profile update! Joey and Chandler are the best!!
Merlin: I actually got hooked really recently - i didnt watch last year due to year 12 exams. Of course I went right ahead and started watching it two weeks before med exams! But I totallly love Arthur! He's extremely charismatic, and even when he's being an arrogant prat, he's lovable. Even with all the macho and arrogant act, you can still see someone who takes being Prince of Camelot really seriously - and you can tell that he will be a great and noble king in his time. Am really looking forward to the 4th season, I was so excited when Arthur formed the Knights of the Round Table and they went and ousted Morgana from Camelot!
Big Bang Theory: Haha, it is so hilarious! Have to love Sheldon!
How I Met Your Mother: I quite like this series, although its a little so-so now. I like it for the individual episodes but the overall character development is a little slow for my taste. Barney is my favourite, he's totally legen - wait for it! - DARY!
Scrubs: Ive seen a fair few intern shows... Greys Anatomy and House really dont deserve to be on my favourites list though. Scrubs on the other hand is really funny, really natural, and from what ive heard is really realistic. You cant help but like JD and Turk and Carla (although Elliot pisses me off) - and Doctor Cox in spite of his infamous rants is my favourite character, you can tell he really cares. (Hm... why is it that I love all the characters that all the other characters love to hate? Should I be worried?)
Vampire Diaries: As mentioned earlier, its awesome. I am sooo totally on Team Damon - not only is he waaaaaaay hotter but I can sympathise with him so much more!

French poem we learned once:
Quand je suis né, j’étais noir,
Quand j’ai grandi, j’étais noir,
Quand je suis au soleil, je suis noir,
Quand je suis malade, je suis noir,
Quand je mourrai, je serai noir.
Tandis que toi, homme blanc,
Quand tu es né, tu étais rose,
Quand tu as grandi, tu étais blanc,
Quand tu vas au soleil, tu es rouge,
Quand tu as froid, tu es bleu,
Quand tu as peur, tu es vert,
Quand tu es malade, tu es jaune,
Quand tu mourras, tu seras gris.
Et après cela, tu as le toupet de m'appeler
Homme de couleur ?
Translation of the poem:
When I was born, I was black,
While you, white man,
And after this, you have the audacity to call me
