![]() Author has written 10 stories for Star Wars, and Harry Potter. I have been a Star Wars fan since the first time I watched 'A New Hope' in an old fashioned movie theater back in 1977. I became a Harry Potter Fan after the first movie came out and have since read all the books twice. I started writing fan fiction about five years ago. I'm still writing that first story. It's a book length Star wars fic. I have written three one shots that I have posted here and on other sites. I have another one in the works but I'm not sure how long it will be. I started writing my first Harry Potter fic a few months ago. I was inspired by a story I read on this site. It is also not yet finished and there are two other's in the works. About a month ago, inspiration hit one saturday morning and has resulted in my first complete Harry Potter fic. I've posted Chapter 1 here and will post the rest of it at regular intervals. I love reviews either good or bad. The good ones let me know what I'm doing right and the bad ones help me learn from my mistakes so I can do better with the next one so please review my stories. I have gotten precious few on other sites and hope fortune will smile upon me here. I expect there will be many more stories assuming I can find time to write them and my head doesn't get so full of story ideas that it explodes. As a rule, I won't post a story or part of a story, that's not completely written so if you see a story here that is not completely published, rest assured that the next chapter will be up within a couple of days because it'll already be written. I made that decision because I've come across way too many stories that are incomplete with nothing new on them for a couple years, the author being unable or unwilling to finish it. I've found myself left hanging on many good stories knowing I'll never get to see how they'll end. As far as Star Wars goes, I'm a life long fan. I love the movies and the expanded universe Books. I liked the Luke/Mara pairing but never liked Callista with Luke. I've also grown weary of the recent trend in Star Wars fiction of killing off major characters especially the death of Mara Jade. The killing of characters to inject reality into the series is a backwards argument to me. People didn't flock to the theaters to watch the movies because they wanted more reality in their lives but to escape it. Whether it was the energy crises in the seventies or the war on terror in this decade, Star Wars was an escape from an otherwise dark time in our history where, for the two hours we watched them, we were able to forget the cares of the day and feel a sense of hope as we watched good triumph over evil or saw the seeds planted in the prequil trilogy that would grow into the great adventures we watched as children. In short, Star Wars was a welcomed and sometimes necessary escape from reality and was the last place we either needed or wanted reality forced upon us. I have come across many like minded individuals on fan fiction sites and have been able to find my joy in the galaxy far far away again in their stories. I'm fairly new to Harry Potter. Like many I've come across, I favored a Harry/Hermione pairing. I like the cannon pairing of Harry/Ginny as well. It's the Ron/Hermoine pairing that I don't like. Ron is horrible to her in three of the seven books and not that nice to her in the others. In HBP, he's especially mean to her over something that happened two years previous. Also, he never, not once apologized to her for anything he said or did to her. As a result, I don't think he's good enough for her, nor do I think he'll make her happy. That being said, it's not my universe and I don't make the rules. JK Rowling created it and can do whatever she wants with it. Perhaps I'm allowing my own personal bias cloud my judgment of Ron. My father was like that with my mother. He would get mad and treat her terribly for days without telling her why he was mad or apologizing for it afterwards. They eventually split because it became clear they couldn't make each other happy. They wasted years being miserable because they mistook personality conflicts as sexual tension. That's Jk Rowling's explanation of the constant friction between Ron and Hermione but that's not how it looked to me. I hope to read and write many wonderful stories while I'm here and look forward to getting to know my fellow members on this site. Story update June 1, 2012: I have received several private messages about the status of my two current stories: Revolution and All's Fair. For those of you with the same question let me state this loud and clear. I have not nor will I ever abandon either story. I recently started a new job and am now working 60 hours a week and my wife seems to think she has the right to keep me busy on my days off. What can I say? I love her more than anything and like making her happy. As a result, I only have a short time in the morning before I leave for work to write (An hour at best). I am working on new chapters but, unfortunately, its been slow going. I have intended to post this update for some time but a recent event as made it imperative that I do it now. Many of you have no doubt noticed that 'All's Fair' has been deleted from . I didn't do it and only found out about it yesterday (5/31/12); did. Apparently there is a rule that story descriptions must have a 'K' rating and mine was rated 'T' due to the use of the word 'Bitch'. At least that's the only word in it that I could see that might have caused it. I obviously wasn't aware of this rule or I would never have breeched it. Had they sent me a message informing me of the problem, I would have gladly fixed it. I don't know if this is a new rule or an old one that they're just now getting around to enforcing but that description has been up for over two years and only now is it suddenly a problem. I've decided to turn a negative into a positive by looking at this as an opportunity to fixe some of the problems the story had since I'm basically starting over now. I will be editing and rewriting as needed the previous chapters of All's Fair and then repost them as soon as I can with an updated description that will hopefully meet 's standards. I don't think I'll need to do too much to the first two chapters so expect them to be up some time next week. Thank you for your patience. Story Update September 18, 2012: All's Fair: I've decided not to post the second half of chapter seven as is. Instead I'm adding what I'd already written for the original chapter eight thus the delay in posting it. I'm making good progress and expect to have it up soon then I'll be taking a break from this story and return to my other horribly neglected story Revolution. Revolution: As stated above, I'll start working on this again after the next chapter of All's Fair is posted. I've also decided to continue the fix/re-edit/rewriting project that began with All's fair and move to this story. I only expect to make changes to one chapter but I'll let you know how it goes. I plan to post regular story updates from here on out. Story Update November 19, 2012: All's Fair: I'm sorry the update is taking so long but I"ve been haveing trouble with one particular scene but I'm finally past it now. The new chapter should be up by the end of the week or early next week. Again, sorry for the delay. Revolution: Chapter 5 rewrite almost complete otherwise same as last update. Story Update December 10, 2012: All's Fair: Chapter 8 is now up! I will be taking a break from this story until the next chapter of Revolution is completed. Revolution: I'm still working on the update of chapter 5. Once the update is complete I will focus all my writing energy on Chapter 8. Other: It's the holidays and I will probably be using any writing time I have between now and Christmas working on a gift for my wife so there probably won't be anymore updates this year. Merry Christmas everybody! Story Update February 6, 2013: All's Fair: On hold until I get the next Chapter of Revolution out. Revolution: The chapter 5 update is now up! Let me know what you think. I will now be focusing on the next chapter which is way overdue. I hope to have it out very quickly then I will return to All's Fair. I appreciate your patience. It's been a long time since I did one of these but hopefully I will be able to do them on a more regular basis going forward. Story Update September 19, 2014: All's Fair & Revolution: I have decided to try to work on new chapters for both stories at the same in hopes of making quicker updates. As a result, I will likely end up updating both stories at or near the same time. Both chapters are progressing nicely but I don't, as yet, have any definite idea when an update might occur. Coming Attractions: For those that don't know, I have noticed that other authors have collections of story ideas, plot bunnies and other assorted bits and pieces on their accounts and have been toying with the idea of putting up a collection of my own. My collection is going to be the first chapters of several other stories I'm currently working on. I'm calling it 'Coming Attractions' hence the title of this section. I also plan to put up a poll so you, my readers, can vote on which story you would like me to focus on once 'Alls Fair' is complete (it only has a few chapters left). I'm currenly putting the finishing touches on some of the entries for the initial launch and am considering adding a couple more. It will include both Harry Potter and Star Wars stories (as those are the two worlds I write in) along with one crossover story. I will likely launch it when I update my other two stories. |
