Hi, we're the Hive.
If you want to address me, feel free to call me Hive or some other variation of my name, if you'd prefer to make up your own. I'm not really picky. As long as I recognize it as something regarding my pen name I'll answer to it.
I would like to mention that I have a twin sister, and we have decided (for our own convenience, because I doubt you care) that we are going to separate our stories into non-One Piece and OP stories, as that was our first fandom/the one we have written for most. The non-OP stories shall go here, and the others on her account.
I'll be the first to say that I'm no expert when it comes to writing. I'm sure there are plenty of people who are much better at writing than I. Then again, there are plenty that are far worse. I take pride in the fact that I'm somewhere in the middle, with the rest of you (unless you are among the few who are very good or very bad, in which case I commend or feel for you, respectively) I've never been one to stick adamantly to a certain pairing. I'm also the type of person who can't write a fandom well until I've had a few (failed) attempts. I'd love to be able to write well right off the bat, but I'm not there yet (and I'm not sure if I even will be).
For those of you that have been with the fandom from the day I requested the Losers section, or for interested newcomers: Click here.
A Note Regarding Betaing: We would be happy to beta your story. If you want to request a beta you can do so on this account. Keep in mind that we can only do so many at a time, so if we can't beta for you right away, we may still be able to work something out in the future. I can also say quite honestly that we will shoot you down if we're busy with schoolwork. Ask anyway, though!
Occupation: An aspiring author, as many on this site are. Hopefully I will be able to replace "aspiring" with "accomplished" some time in the near future. However, I know that this isn't always a plausible goal, so I'm aiming for med school to become a Radiologist OR I may just get my PhD and become a medical researcher.
My current fandoms include: Star Trek (ToS and AoS, oh how I love thee...), Firefly, Castle, HIMYM, Leverage, The A-Team (TV Series, though the movie was a nice tribute and I enjoyed it), Psych, many Marvel comics, One Piece, House M.D., the Losers, and Final Fantasy VII, Sherlock, among others. For anyone who cares, we have a tendency to use a combination of comics/movies/games, so we will take aspects from each when writing fanfics. Y'know, pick-and-choose to get the best personality/characterization for the story. For example, we might take something that happened in ToS and apply it to an AoS story. Cheating? Maybe, but totally worth it...
Reading: I love to read, it really helps me with my writing. Lately I've been using my Marvel Digital Comics subscription to all but melt my brain with hundreds of Marvel works. I've also been buying a Star Trek novel just about every time I get to a Barnes and Nobles (which is not often, because there isn't one anywhere near my hometown)
Likes/Passtimes: I love watching football, though I'd never be able to play it. I love reading and watching comics, manga, and anime, as well as television. I play video games sometimes, though I'm not really good at them. I rock at puzzle-oriented video games, as well as round-battle RPGs. I've never been much of a movie critic. If it interests me, and doesn't have too many poorly-executed lewd jokes, I usually end up loving it... Also, just to give you even more of an excess of worthless information, my favorite numbers are 34, 28, and 36.
And, for those who would like to see my sister-not-twin's stories, go here! KLS's profile. On another note, I would like to mention that she enjoys using abbreviations in her descriptions, some of which may or may not be somewhat obscure so if you don't know what something means... don't feel bad, sometimes I don't either...
We're currently obsessed with writing Star Trek o3o So much fun~ As far as pairings go, so far we have ideas/stories in progress with the following pairings: Kirk/McCoy, Kirk/Spock, Spock/Uhura, Sulu/Chekov, Kirk/Spock/McCoy. Hopefully all of these will be finished and ready to be posted some time in the near future, though if you're partial to seeing something, we do take requests.
Personality: I suppose if you look at me, I seem like your stereotypical geek (intelligent, comic books, Star Trek(my love!), anime and manga, Dungeons and Dragons on occasion, the works) Mind you, I find stereotypes utterly hilarious, and would be ecstatic if someone told me as much. I have a tendency to come across as mean, though I think that's mainly just because I tend to channel Spock when I'm talking to someone I don't know well, especially if they give me a poor first-impression, so I'll go off into a cold-and-factual tangent (^///^). I don't take to immaturity well, and I certainly don't take to people who aren't open minded, which pretty much takes care of...well, a good majority of the people I know. If it weren't for my family (blood related or not), I'd be quite lonely.
To me, criticism means criticism. If I have something to say, I will. Please don't be insulted, I'm not trying to put you down or anything, I'm trying to help you. Don't sugar-coat for me, and I won't for you, and we'll all get better in our writing because of it. Probably.
I love writing, it's my passion. I have an entire bookshelf packed with notebooks (years old as well as brand-new) and as a laptop to write on. Rarely do I go anywhere for a long time without something to write with. You never know when inspiration will strike, right? In any case, I hope that I'll be able to write something worthwhile to post here. Until then, though, my plot bunnies will run rampant on many a sheet of notebook paper!
Yes, we take STORY REQUESTS: We will be glad to write a story for you if you have an idea that you'd rather read than write (I've been there. Luckily, I have a twin to force to write it for me XD) You can also give us requests for something to happen in one of our stories, though I will warn you that more often than not we write the entire story before we begin posting, so if its a huge change from the plot we've written we might not be able to pencil it in. Ask anyway though, because we'll try our best to use your suggestions. So please, let us know if you have something in mind! Writing for someone else is a good way to get my ass in gear anyway :D Personal requests are always more likely to get written. We're people pleasers in that sense.
And now, something to amuse:
Look at your Captain, now back to me, now back at your Captain, now back to ME.
Look down, back up, where are you?
Anything is possible when you're as hot as Captain Kirk.
Something I saw on Dear Blank, Please Blank.
Dear Twilight Fans,
Thank you for making us look so sane and well adjusted.
