Welcome to my little corner of the Internet
I love to review. I'm an awkward person, so the internet is awesome for me, because there's almost no such thing as an awkward turtle silence when you can take as long as you want to respond. x)
And plus, researchers find that people the internet and its anonymity =trolls (in short, that's what their findings are). But that's not me. I'm as honest, insane, arrogant and overall awesomely epic as I am in real life! (Though, I tend to be pretty nice about my reviews--I nitpick about everything I see wrong or that could be fixed, but I'll say it nicely. And just so you know, whatever review I've left you is my absolute honest opinon. That, and the fact that I'm the harshest on myself. So buck up.)
If you're just here for the stories and don't care much for me (:O Nahh, I'm joking ;P) information about my stories is all the way at the bottom above the stories listing. Enjoy, everybody
Oh. I take requests too If you have an idea, and I find it interesting, I'll write it for you. Because I get really bored and my elusive muse and I have a love/hate/hate/hate/ooooh love relationship. x)
I absolutely love character studies/instrospective pieces. I find that they are generally well-written, in comparison to the average everyfic that features a pairing. That's not to say that I don't enjoy pairing fics...it's just, with the insane influx of rabid fangirls, the integrity of this archive has taken a nosedive--namely that the pairing and fluffy romance (while that's alright), now takes precedence over good grammar and spelling and the like. NO. Just NO.
Anyway... My muse is many different things (COUGH. Anything and everything. COUGH COUGH.)
My usual ones are:
-The 1:30 a.m. high... I find that I work better at night. Maybe it's because of allnighters (stinkin' homework...) that my mind's adapted to that. But, it also screws up my sleeping cycle, and I can no longer work properly until that time at night... -_-"
-Reading some quality work--not necessarily books. Anything that inspires me will usually motivate me to write. Many wonderful fanfics have left in that state of shellshock that I have to work or I'll feel like a useless lump I like to call "insignificant waste of space".
-That random feeling of anxiety/angst. I get anxious for no reason whatsoever sometimes (it's the same 'insignificant' feeling as mentioned above), and I will have to sit down and write.
-Music. 'Nuff said. I think almost everyone can agree on and understand what I'm talking about here. :)
-Random situations that I experience/see. Anything that will get me to stop and stare will generally make me stop and think, and continue to think about it later as the day goes on. Congrats if you've managed to inspire this cynical stone heart of mine with some silly antic or pure awesomeness that you exude.
-Caffeine Nightmares. I once heard a song called Propane Nightmares. My muse isn't really like that, but it sounded cool; that, and I'm going through one of those right now. This happens when I get jacked up on any form of caffeine (most notably coffee and sprite). I start off normal and unmotivated. Then I get the urge to write crack, then fluff...then the Caffiend appears. (No, that was not a typo). After going through various stages, I arrive at the darkest mode of all--in which I produce horror, gore, angst and all that jolly good psychological stuff.
Haha I'm pretty much cool with any pairings. I'm pretty open-minded--meaning het, yaoi and yuri pairings are all cool with me. Oh, and crack pairings? If you write them well and are believable to me, I will love them (Like Wall80 fics. Poor Yamamoto... Unrequited love)
I also realize how controversial some things may sound to people. So I'll say it once and only once. I read situations well, and hate controversy/arguments. Especially over pairings. Especially pairings in Hetalia. I know that some pairings are quite literally crack and don't make sense historically, and some pairings may even be highly...for lack of a better word, controversial. So when I say pairings in Hetalia, I'm only considering the character and the character as him/herself, rather than a reflection of the country as a whole...
And just as a note, for Hetalia, I consider Nyotalia and genderbending two different things. So If I say fem!Whoever, I mean their Nyotalia selves, not the genderbent character.
Examples of OTPs:
5986 (Gokudera Hayato x Miura Haru from Katekyo Hitman Reborn)
5927 (Gokudera Hayato x Sawada Tsunayoshi from Katekyo Hitman Reborn)
Lavi x Lenalee (D. Gray-Man)
Sai/Haruno Sakura (Naruto)
Ulquiorra/Orihime (Bleach) I think that was the only time I ever saw character development in Bleach...
Lithuania/Belarus (Hetalia) I really don't understand America/Belarus. And I think that when Belarus realizes that her brother won't marry her...then Lithuania's already there for her. :) Maybe it's not as likely, but I think this may be the most likely pairing for Bela (Though I hate how the only way fandom seems to be able to get them together is the cliche "Lithuania comforts Belarus after she was rejected by Russia" thing. I'd like to see a unique idea. If you have one, please let me know; I'd love to read it!)
America/Canada (Hetalia) --The only incest pairing that I'll read and support...
FrUK (Hetalia) -- I started to love this pairing after reading a doujinshi called "Long November"; that and "Ghost". They are absolutely amazing. And then my friend and I watched Beauty and the Beast...and she pointed out the clock and the candelabra--they are exactly like these two. Watch the movie again and you'll know what I mean... (The movie even shows Clock!Pirate!England...no joke.)
USUK and UKUS (Hetalia) --This is the only pairing, for some reason unbeknownst to me, that I like in any relationship (father/son, brothers, and romance, also nyotalia too. Though my absolute fave out of these is the original yaoi pairing--UKfem!US is a close second). It goes against everything I rant about down below about pairings that I won't read, but I find, just going from their personalities, that they'd be good together. *Shrugs* I have no idea either. If you do, please feel free to enlighten me. _"
UK/Liechtenstein (Hetalia) There's actually a lot of potential in this pairing...and of course, I think he's just about the only male that would be able to get past Switzerland. cloudburst by Coins Compressed got me into this pairing. A great fic
Prussia/Liechtenstein (Hetalia) I don't like this one as much as the above pairing, but I like seeing how he'll get past Switzerland. Good luck to you, your Awesomeness.
Pairings/Stories that I just CANNOT read:
-Anything with mpreg. People, can we stick with reality? Yaoi I'm fine with, because that's reasonable. But mpreg, I'm sorry, is not.
Same goes for any rape fics. That's just sick. In what world does rape equal love? That's not even deserving of the title 'sick fantasy'. There's trauma. Lot's of it. The next person I hear saying that "it's not rape if you like it," I will spaz out at them. Yes, it's still considered rape--if there's no consent, it's rape.
-No SHOTA / LOLICON for me.
-Russia/Prussia (Hetalia) After reading an awesome fic (The Last Journal of the Awesome Me by RinaCath) I just can't accept this pairing. I'm sorry to those you like/read/write it. I'm just not into rape fics, and I honestly can't see that pairing happening. Exception: If it's a dark!fic and there is no romance on Prussia's part, or if the story is just that awesome. x)
-Russia/America, America/Russia (Hetalia) I'll chance it sometimes if the summary is good or if someone recommends it. But I just think that they wouldn't get along--both because of their personalities as well as their historical background. ...UNLESS it's well-written and AU. (The Flying Machine by the anon is nigh changed my mind about this pairing because it's just awesome and it's steampunk.) Besides, to me, they seem like children in the schoolyard fighting over toys--at most they're like friends or rivals. It's hard for me to see an romance in their realtionship--they're too different and too similar for that.
-6918 (Mukuro/Hibari from Katekyo Hitman Reborn) This is mostly because I think it'd be more like 1869, and even then, I don't really think their personalities would allow this. They'd, quite literally, kill each other. And the KHR fandom is filled with horrible renditions of this pairing, so much that I can't read them anymore. If I read your 6918 or 1869 story and like it, you should feel accomplished because you just made a non-believer believe! x)
-6927. Sorry to break it to you, but in my opinion, no, Mukuro is not reformed. He still hates the mafia and he sees Tsuna as his best shot at revenge. That's it. I'll read it if it's more psychological and deals more with Mukuro's manipulative side, but if it's about romance between the two...sorry, it's just not happening. The only exception is if it's AU, or if your story is just that awesome.
-Hitachiin Twincest (Hikaru and Kaoru Hitachiin from Ouran Highschool Host Club) They clearly just do it for laughs and to get paid. And I won't spoil it, but they clearly like someone else. In general, I do not read incest fics.
-Namikaze Minato with anyone other than Uzumaki Kushina (Naruto) This also goes for any pairing that goes against a confirmed canon pairing. It's just wrong. Minato would not cheat on Kushina. Just no. The only exception to this is a crack!fic.
-SasuNaru / NaruSasu (Naruto). I'm sorry for those of you out there who write it well, but the majority of these fics are very poorly written (in general, the Naruto fandom is poorly written...but that's a whole 'nother roasting), and I've just addapted to it and avoid these like the plague. Because generally these are OOC to the EXTREME, not to mention half of them are just plain bad lemons. (Nothing against lemons, but these ones, once again, are just badly written).
If you're gonna' write lemon, WRITE IT WELL. *Rages* If I ever read anything that even vaguely reminds me of 'My Immortal' (i.e. "He stuck his boy thingy in mine"), I will commit genocide on my brain cells.
-Anything against the site's rules--especially the interactive fics, script format, and reader inserts (for these ones, if it's good, I'll recommend making it an OC, but generally I stay away from these). Plus, just don't do it--You don't want to get clapped with a lawsuit, do you?
This goes especially for the letter fics I've been seeing in the Hetalia fandom. They're plotless, and not just that, most of the time they lack a lot of creativity. I mean, if it's fun to write from that character's point of view, you might as well write a story with an actual plot, or even Roleplay as that character.
I was forced into taking a Hetalia quiz even before I heard of it. The first time I took it I was barely conscious (after three consecutive all-nighters), and surrounded by hyper Hetaliatards. My result? Germany.
That silenced the Hetaliatards--especially the one that just got Italy before me. So, they jacked me up on two cups of coffee (I LOVE YOU GUYS!), and half a burger (I LOVE YOU GUYS!), and made me take another quiz. I got America.
They kept making me take quizzes all throughout lunch, and everytime, I got America...that is...until the caffeine/sugar/carbs etc. wore off...And then it was Germany once again. I'm confused. x)
I love talking about myself. Would you look at that? Boost here, boost there. Wow. What can I say? If only we all had the self-confidence of Prussia (that was an awesome demotivational poster...)
Yes, my friends, I am now a proud Hetaliatard. *Raises boot*
2-D Love? I've got it bad.
I LOVE Studio Ghibli
I am an easily exciteable high schooler who really needs to go outside more (if not for wretched homework), loves anime/manga/fanfiction, loves food, loves SLEEP (which I don't get enough of due to the aforementioned bane of my existence), whose mental age will never be in sync with my physical age, and loves to rant on and on (can anyone say tangents?).
I play the piano, clarinet, all types of saxophones (alto, tenor, baritone etc.) and am addicted to music. I'm never seen anywhere without my iPod. If I am seen without it, it's your cue to avoid me, for I'm very likely in a bad mood due to the dreaded thing known as 'BATTERY LOW'.
I am a stubborn quitter, if that makes any sense at all. Everything and anything that I become bored with, or does not show favourable results is often very quickly scrapped unless I truly, truly enjoy it, in which case, I'll follow through with it until I'm shot down and shot dead. So I'll continue with most of my stories even without much encouragement. I write for myself first and foremost.
Ahh, I put off everything that doesn't seem interesting or stresses me out, which really doesn't make sense and shows that that stress is probably deserved, but you know what? I'm hungry.
Oh, and I'm a pack rat.
I have really bad luck. That bad luck rubs off on others. For example. I have three plushies (I won't name them, since it'd be considered spoilers), and after buying each one of them, the character would then proceed to die in a very violent/sad way in the manga/anime. So I own dead plushies. I'm scared to buy any more... TT
I suffer from medical students' disease, as I'm currently taking (Edit: took) courses in psychology. It's to be expected though. I believe that I have a really bad case of Borderline Personality disorder and a mild case of Anti-Social disorder. But hey, overall, I think people would agree with me that I'm a little bit (just a little teeny bit) crazy.
That's alright. All the good ones are pretending to be. It's the bad ones that are truly scary insane.
I'm well aware that my profile is not in order...but that's just how I think/am. Yeah...and it's also because I'm too lazy to rewrite/rearrange things. My room's proof enough of that. I don't believe in deleting things (Read: Pack rat), so nothing will ever be removed from this profile. None of my stories either. Hopefully. Knock on wood.
I love snow. And I love rain. I love staring at the sky.
I'm a dreamer. As of such, I have many dreams. Here are some:
-To become someone's hero before I die.
Prince SuperSharky's status at almost any given time is one of these: Procrastinating, homeworking (yes, homework is now a verb), reading books, fanfiction, manga (you name it, I've read it, I'm reading it, or I will read it...eventually), writing, watching anime, eating, sleeping. Oh...and pack ratting (yeah, that's a verb too).
Dislikes (In General):
Edward vs. Edward
1. The REAL Edward has awesome automail and a kick ass brother, who is a soul bound to a metal suit of armor.
2. The fake one sparkles... I'm calling Armstrong, no one sparkles on his turf.
3. The REAL Edward has an awesome mechanic called Winry, and they love each other... The fake one just has a stupid whiney wannabe girl that could get her ass kicked by anyone.
4. The fake one SPARKLES. Come on fangirls? Have we really reduced ourselves to love Mr. Fuzzy Catepillar Eyebrows that sparkles like an idiot princess?
5. The REAL Edward has short rants... The fake one just has stupid sparkles and a fake angsty attitude
6. The fake one has no reason to be angsty
7. The REAL Edward tried to bring his mother back to life after she died, lost his arm and his leg, and had to bring his brothers soul back only for it to be bound to a suit of armor. I think HE has a reason to be angsty.
8. The fake one just got killed by Armstrong for sparkling on his turf AND stealing his original sparklyness. Who wants to love a mutilated pile of flesh and bones that SPARKLES?!?!?!
My point is made, copy and paste this if you agree The REAL Edward could beat the fake one any day. (originally by tigerhorse)
(The only offense I took from this was #4. Anyone else get that Hetalia reference?)
-Flames without anything to back them up. Please remember, that reviews are for writers to improve. Not all reviews have to be like 'workshop comments' ("Good job!", "Nice work!", "That was amazing!") but they should have critcism in them, but always with something to back it up. Useless flames are a waste of review space. And any/all of them will be used to roast marshmallows with Byakuran when I take over the world and become the Prime Minister of Awesome! xD
-Bad grammar and poor spelling. We're all prone to this, but hey, we're human. That's what great beta readers are for! Proofread, everybody!
-People who ship pairings just because they look "cute together". Yes, I have to agree, some of them do look extremely cute together...but then you're just superficial. You can say that they look cute together, but that is all--that should be all. And please, please, know the character before you write them.
-When people portray ukes as overly feminine. For example: USUK/UKUS (Hetalia) --Yes, England is tsundere, I think we can all agree on that, and to some extent, America is too. But neither of them would cry/tear up over the slightest thing (not to say that that is feminine), but really, one used to be a pirate, and they both are/were the world power at one point. Please don't turn their strength of character into mush. Example 2: Naruto/Sasuke and vice versa (Naruto) --need I say anything? (Yes, yes I do.) They're both ninja, and both have extremely strong characters--even with his sexy no jutsu, Naruto will never turn into a sobbing mess of a 'princess' who needs his 'Prince Sasuke', and vice versa. (Sasuke's too emo and thinks himself above that anyway). Example 3: Xanxus/Squalo (KHR) --I don't think I need to say anything...but they are assassins for a reason. And Squalo represents the sin of pride--he's not gonna cower/cry/act girly.
-MarySues. I think that that's pretty much everybody. But don't we all love a good Sue parody, and Sue bashing? (I think the only exception here is one of my own stories. The 'Might-be a Sue' because even Sue tests don't cover all situations. I'm not in denial. Read the story and then take the test with my OC and you'll find that something's just...off, for lack of a better word...)
-As well, it's related for the above dislike. I absolutely HATE how people automatically write off OCs as MarySues. That is untrue, and I'll have you retract your statement thank you very much. While it is true that there is always a chance that they'll become a Sue, and a good few of them do, it's not true that they all are MarySues. I understand if you don't like OCs, but please, don't group well-written original characters with personalities and weaknesses, written by authors who actually care about characterization and plot (while keeping canon characters IC), in with poorly written MarySues written by people who have lost their heads to the whirlwind of romance.
NOTE: The above is an example of a PrinceSuperSharky light!rant. It is not intended to offend anyone. I simply wanted to get that thought off of my chest. I have a personal aversion to head-over-heels romance that doesn't make sense. And the same goes for love at first sight. If you believe in it, it's all good. Just as a personal viewpoint, I don't.
It's kind of like how I'm agnostic. Let me make it clear that agnostic is not the same as atheist. Atheists believe that there is no God(s). Agnostics are the range of people between believing that there is a God, and that there isn't a God. I, for one, believe that even if there is a God, in the end, it's all up to me. There's your inspiring moment for the day
Whoa. That went SO off-topic...and to think that I was ranting to myself for the world to see...
But I think that's it for dislikes. Yup.
ABOUT MY STORIES. Complete, ongoing and brainstorming... (the ones mentioned are ones that I something to say about :D)
Regarding Starfire/P s y c h e ButterflyHeart:
If you've read them, and I'll assume that you've read at least a few...or more...or one (and hopefully enjoyed them...), then you've probably noticed that I'm a lot like Asha Walker from P s y c h e Butterflyheart. It's not really intentional. It just kind of ended up like that is all. I'm also well aware of the fact that that is one of the criteria for MarySues, which I detest with a passion. (See: Dislikes above)
Anyway, I will be writing 5 other spinoffs to Starfire. Once of which has already been posted (See: Butterflyheart). These will all be featuring a different Original Character.
I've decided all pairings, except for one which I will allow you to vote for when I get there.
So as for now...Please read on.
Awesome idea from MisyRose on a Katekyo Hitman Reborn Writing Challenges forum on this here lovely site.
It will have 11 chapters in total, each one can be read independently (like oneshots).
Regarding Like a Boss!:
A simple crack-like future for our young and bumbling Vongola Decimo. A sequel is currently under construction. I'll drag it, kicking and screaming, out of the cosmos if I have to. :)
Regarding the Re:Idioms Collection:
A collection of pieces that are unrelated. They are in different categories and different genres, but all draw inspiration from quotes--that is, quotes that never cease to anger me. They will always begin with the bolded quote itself, and end with my bolded response to said quote.
Current Pieces in the Collection:
Chain : A Katekyo Hitman Reborn twoshot that focuses on the failures of Gokudera, and his relationships with the Tenth-generation family (mainly Tsuna). The two chapters can be read as two seperate oneshots--the first is highly cynical and dark, while the second is its lighter counterpart with a more optimistic end.
Regarding H E A R T:
I may have been a little hasty in posting, for I have yet to complete a first chapter to offer you dear readers as a follow-up to the prologue. Many thanks to MotherMaple for being the supercritical beta that she is.
If you have any questions/comments/random stuff to share, message me. I don't bite unless you bite first. Honest x)
