I know it's been a while since I updated Human Element, and I haven't really done much writing in the past few weeks, but the last two weeks have been especially exhausting and emotional. Due to Hurricane Sandy, I've been displaced and am now living at my parents' primary home. We only lost power for 40 hours, thankfully, during which I began the outlining of the rewrite of Slightly More Desirable (which might get a new title). Thankfully, my parents and I were able to check on their beach house (where I was living full time) so we could retrieve necessary items. For me, it was clothes, contact lenses, and a few movies. The house where I am living is thankfully still standing, but there is no power, gas, and the bridges are damaged and blocked off. I needed a mental break from writing but feel I am up to the task once again.

That being said, I debated over whether or not I should continue with Human Element. I told myself that if we lost power, I would scrap it. I reconsidered and will finish it, but not on a regular basis. I'm not particularly fond of it, and view it more as a tool to get my writing juices flowing. I've already begun writing a new story (a Fred/Hermione) and want to continue to rewrite my favorite fics as well as start new ones I've had ideas for for a very long time.
