October 2014, Introspective Hero status report:
Wow. How the heck did I finish it in less than a year after I finally got my butt back in gear? I don't know. It must have been bubbling at the back of my head for all these years. Well, it's done :D I hope somebody updates the TVtropes recommendation with that factoid, but just the fact that it was updated to say it's no longer dead was awesome too.
And now, wonderful people who have made wonderful fanart for Introspective Hero! In no particular order:
Demyrie (who created Junn and Vida Durann and I'm using them as per her permission from yeeears back):
Jesters of the Moon:
You know, I somehow get the feeling that you guys kinda like Zem XD
If I forgot somebody, please do poke me about it.
And on a wholly different note...
Sequel to Diplomacy
Eh... no, not really. Sorry, not happening. But at one point I did write some little scribbles for a short story set in the same 'verse, taking place just after the Wrath Gate and Attack on the Undercity event in WotLK. I found them in my notes, pieced them together with summaries, and posted it on my Tumblr.
Guide to my WoWiverse
I'm no longer writing WoW-fanfiction, but the collection of fics I wrote are all in the same continuity. All of the stories from Relief to Crossroads to Ravines and Diplomacy take place in the middle of the Burning Crusade to some time before Wrath of the Lich King, timeline-wise. There is a what-if short story in the first chapter of A Slice of Life which takes place during WotLK, but that's the only one.
I stuck with the canon lore as much as possible, however there were some deviations. Diplomacy (Thrall/Jaina), which is heavily what-if-ish to start with, is sort of the sun which the other fics orbit.
My OCs (and if they ever get Mary Suish, feel free to roast marshmallows on me) pretty much start off in two groups, then come to interact with each other.
Dor'ash, an orc shaman, and his Forsaken mage ("pet zombie") friend Sarah first appear in Wail, Baby, Wail. Note that this is a humor fic and doesn't fit in very well with the later stories (it's the Pluto of this fanfic solar system). However it introduces Dor'ash and Sarah, as well as the troll hunter Rohdjinn and Sarah's undead boyfriend Jonathan.
Thomas Southstone, human paladin, and his friend Collins Reed, a rogue, meet and maim the raptor trainer troll Vo'don, and just meet the blood elf mage Shana in Shades of Grey (oh yeah, really innovative title there). Collins went through a whole lot of character development through me roleplaying him, and I meant to bring that out but never did. Maybe I'll return to it someday.
I haven't done much art for these guys, but you can find three pictures of 'em in my deviantart gallery.
But even if I don't have much art of my peeps, I also have some fanart which makes my world fill up with roses and rainbows.
By Chajiko, Thomas and Vo'don, from the scene in Remembering Grey where Vo'don has just saved Thomas' from a group of way less friendly trolls.
By unsugarcoated, aka Xhai, Collins and Nok, when the latter is possessed by the loa (troll god) of snakes and rogues, Damballa. Nok, of course, belongs to one of my favoritest authors and good friend T Mirai. Being a rogue Collins can't exactly turn to the Light since he can't follow the Virtues, so he became interested in troll religion when he met Nok. It was just the interest of a fan, without believing, until he actually met the loa - who, even he's friendly, is scary as all hell. "Plz no Eat" indeed XD
T Mirai herself has also made a very cool (and friendshippy, haha) pic of Collins and Nok together, but it's on Y!gallery (slash all over the place, yo!) so I hesitate to directly link there. But if you're interested, her handle on Y! is Smutshammy and the picture is named "The Devious Duo."
