Personal information ... I'm twenty-six and female. I graduated from college with a double major in creative writing and English with a minor in philosophy. In my professional life, I'm a novelist and technical writer.
My major fandom right now is G.I. Joe, mainly because I enjoy violence, ninjas, fun character interactions, and unpretentious stories about good and evil. As my stories doubtless show I'm a Snake-Eyes/Scarlett 'shipper, with a side of Flint/Lady Jaye and Beach Head/Cover Girl. I also like delving into the thoughts of solo characters who weren't as well developed: some of my favorites are Psyche-Out, Spirit, Dusty, Kamakura, and more recently, the greenshirts and support staff of the Pit.
Please note, though, that I read and review fics not necessarily based on my favorites: if it's well-written, I don't care who it's about. I'd rather read an excellent fic pairing Serpentor and a BAT than a ham-fisted, cliche-riddled one starring my favorite characters. By the same token, I crit based on writing quality, not personal favorites. After thirteen years of nonstop writing, I consider constructive criticism one of the most important parts of a writer's life.
If I had to sum up my own fics in three words, it would be "Fluff and violence."
I do a lot of research and try to strike a balance between comic book and realism. Among other things, my resources include my brothers D.G. and shrapnil, who are ex-Army and ex-USMC respectively and give me a lot of information on how people would react in various situations. If you find any factual errors in my stories, please let me know.
Constructive criticism is accepted and encouraged! I do write for fun, but that's no excuse for letting my skills (well, such as they are) get rusty.
