Yes, I only use this site to post crack pairings (although I don't know why as I never get any reviews. I know people read them but are they any good?). On the OoTS forum we have a crack pairing matchup table (roll the dice and write the pairing) and it's actually quite addictive.
So, about me!
Name : Just call me Dodo!
Other: I am also known as Taekwondodo. I like dragons and reading, encompassing both are the Dragons of Pern series by Anne McCaffrey and the Inheritance series by Christopher Paollini. I also like other animals and have just finished a Zoology course at Edinburgh Uni (trying to find a job now). I can also be found on Neopets (a virtual pets site) as dodos_r_not_extinct. Eerm... I think that's about it just now so I'll just say enjoy my stories! (and I also give out brain bleach on request!)
"I don't really see a point of a holiday that celebrates romantic love, I mean if you need to be reminded to like your romantic partner, you're doing it wrong." John Green
“Don’t make stuff because you want to make money, it will never make you enough money. And don’t make stuff because you want to get famous because you will never feel famous enough. Make gifts for people and work hard on making those gifts in the hope that those people will notice and like the gifts. Maybe they will notice how hard you worked and maybe they won’t and if they don’t notice I know it’s frustrating but ultimately that doesn’t change anything because your responsibility is not to the people you’re making the gift for but to the gift itself.” John Green
"Do not the most moving moments of our lives find us all without words?" Marcel Marceau
"Aggression, the writer's main source of energy." Ted Solotaroff
"Let us waive that agitated national topic, as to whether such multitudes of foreign poor should be landed on our American shores; let us waive it, with the one only thought, that if they can get here, they have God's right to come." Herman Melville
"I have forced myself to contradict myself in order to avoid conforming to my own taste." Marcel Duchamp
"Writing fiction is ... an endless and always defeated effort to capture some quality of life without killing it." Rose Wilder Lane
"The need to express oneself in writing springs from a maladjustment to life, or from an inner conflict which the adolescent (or the grown man) cannot resolve in action. Those to whom action comes as easily as breathing rarely feel the need to break loose from the real, to rise above, and describe it... I do not mean that it is enough to be maladjusted to become a great writer, but writing is, for some, a method of resolving a conflict, provided they have the necessary talent." André Maurois
"It's a dismally lonely business, writing." Toni Cade Bambara
"Until I feared I would lose it, I never loved to read. One does not love breathing." Harper Lee
"He who fights against monsters should see to it that he does not become a monster in the process. And when you stare persistently into an abyss, the abyss also stares into you." Friedrich Nietzsche
"To see a world in a grain of sand
"I will promise no such thing!" I exclaimed. "If Edward's going to drain my fluids like I'm a Cadbury creme egg I really think I ought to know, whether or not this will cause me to do something that will hurt his feelings." from Alicorn's, a re-imagining of Twilight.
"If my other results all pointed at "yep, magical vampires", I'd take the specific claim about Jasper as part of the package." from Alicorn's
"Even the romance novels were unhelpful: the characters didn't act like any real human beings I'd met at all, and if I wasn't prone to comparable dramatic exhalations about my uncontrollable ardor, it didn't mean anything except that I wasn't meant to be watercolored on the cover of a mass market paperback containing borderline porn." from Alicorn's
"Sometimes you wake up. Sometimes the fall kills you. And sometimes, when you fall, you fly." Neil Gaiman's Sandman
"If the future seems overwhelming, remember that it comes only one day at a time." Beth Mende Conny
"Imagination was given to man to compensate him for what he isn’t. A sense of humor was provided to console him for what he is." Horace Walpole
"Around here, however, we don't look backwards for very long. We keep moving forward, opening up new doors and doing new things, because we're curious...and curiosity keeps leading us down new paths." Walt Disney
"Good writers are those who keep the language efficient. That is to say, keep it accurate, keep it clear." Ezra Pound
"If you want your writing to be taken seriously, don't marry and have kids, and above all, don't die. But if you have to die, commit suicide. They approve of that." Ursula K. Le Guin
"I'm not afraid of facts, I welcome facts but a congeries of facts is not equivalent to an idea. This is the essential fallacy of the so-called "scientific" mind. People who mistake facts for ideas are incomplete thinkers; they are gossips." Cynthia Ozick
