Author has written 3 stories for Harry Potter, and Twilight.
First things first - about my icon: How Awesome is this manip?!! I have no idea who to credit this with, but I absolutely love it!! :D
My actual name: you may call me Sash :) Pleased to meet you. My age: 18 years or older...
I am not new to fanfiction, but I am where writing it is concerned. Now that I have started, though, the ideas just keep flowing. I have to admit, I love it! :)
My current stories:
Advent – my first official story, and I am quite proud of it. Though, I will be the first to say, the summary isn’t all that... Actually, I suck at summaries, in general... But I digress :P
I had originally intended for Advent to be a romance story, the tale of Harry and Edward and how they got back together after being separated, however... the plot took over and would not let go! It’s all good, though, coz I’m actually happy with the way the fic is panning out :)
I know I haven’t updated in a while; writer’s block caught me for a little bit. However, I am currently working on the final chapter (excluding the Epilogue), but it's slow going... Its being a lot more troublesome than I thought it would be...
Broken Strings – a short, sad one-shot and my first foray into Harry/Draco – my absolute favourite ship! They just belong, nothing for it. I was quite nervous about delving into H/D fanfiction, though – I worried endlessly that I wouldn’t do them justice. And while Broken Strings isn’t the most original or brilliant of fics, I am happy with it. It gave me the confidence to write more H/D stuff, at least – which I am and will be doing for a while, I’d imagine :P
The Diamond – I truly do love the premise I thought up for this fic, but... I was over-eager. I can see that now. I put this up before I really knew where it was going. As such, this story has been deleted :( For those interested, though, I will keep working on it and then upload again once it's more solid.
I See You - This is another fic that is going to be deleted. For one: I also have little idea where to take this. But the biggest reason it's coming down is that it has virtually no readership... Ah, well.
Fic Recs: Pretty much everything on my Favourite Stories list.
Author Recs: Again, everyone on my Favourite Authors list – they’re exceptional, really. Major praise, from me at least, goes to Cheryl Dyson and Digitallace – who both got me so addicted to H/D fiction that I didn’t go a day without reading there works! And also to Lomonaaeren for writing such thought provoking fics – the way the psyches of both Harry and Draco are delved into and picked at by this author is just fantastic.
And of course, last but certainly not least (and someone I am definitely a fangirl for!)... Faithwood - she is just too brilliant for words :D
Another fanfic author that I just have to mention and give much respect to is Ridley C. James. I have read most of her Supernatural fics - and I absolutely love everything that I have read! This author can be credited for the creation of the wonderful 'Brotherhood'universe, which shows such beautiful creativity. In my humble opinion, if you like Supernatural then you should definitely read her fics.
My List of Favourites:
Books: - the Harry Potter series - I am now, and always will be, a fangirl :); the Artemis Fowl series - this character is too wonderful, and coupled with Eoin Colfer's humour it's just brilliant; The Vampire Chronicles (the first three) by Anne Rice; Johannes Cabal, The Necromancer by Jonathan L. Howard
Not so much in the favourite category (yet...?), but than I did enjoy or am getting into: the Anita Blake series - different, grittier, but quite good; the Percy Jackson series - although to be honest, this was far too similar to Harry Potter; the Wardstone Chronicles - only just started, but it seems good.
Then there's the Twilight Saga... honestly, I enjoyed the concept of it, the nostalgia I got when reading it, and the potential of the characters (which I really don't think Stephanie Meyer explored), BUT... I really don't think that Stephanie Meyer is a good author. She cannot write well. Oh, and the one thing that gets to me more than anything else (right up there with Bella's utter lack of personality): Vampire's should NEVER, EVER sparkle!!!
Oh, and just in case it was missed, the supernatural element is what tends to draw me to stories :) Love it!
Movies: Fight Club, The Matrix Trilogy, Snatch, V for Vendetta, 300, Layer Cake, The Pirates of the Caribbean trilogy (although the first remains the best) - and many others, but I'll just leave it at that. I'm not really into the romance genre, or romantic comedies, but my one weakness is The Notebook. Would it surprise anybody to know that I cried? I didn't think so... :P
It's got to be noted, I love the cult action genre - violent, yes, but intelligently written and entertaining (a rare combo, indeed).
T.V. Series: Supernatural - Erik Kripke is genius!; The Mentalist - how can you not love Patrick Jane?; House M.D. - I've been wondering how Dr Greg House and Patrick Jane would get along... Now that would be entertaining :)
Actors and Actoresses: Anthony Hopkins; Jack Nicholsan; Johnny Depp (need I say more?); Angelina Jolie; Michelle Pfeiffer; Christopher Walken (too awesome!); the late Heath Ledger (who, to me, just stole the show in Batman: The Dark Knight as The Joker)
Music: I love music!! I listen to pretty much everything, except heavy metal and classical stuff. I even love orchestral music - like Era: The Mass. So, having a favourite song is pretty much impossible for me. It changes regularly. I can give you a few of my fave artists, though. They are: The Script - I cannot get enough of this band!; Faithless - brilliant, enough said; Locnville - a South African duo who are too amazing!; DJ Tiesto - the best trance DJ, in my opinion.
Well, how was that for diverse? :) Oh, and in keeping with music, I love to dance! I find it to be the most freeing thing ever :)
And last, but not least, I shall leave you with a few of my favourit quotes:
"But who prays for satan? Who, in eighteen centuries, has had the common humanity to pray for the one sinner that needed it most?" - Mark Twain
"Nearly all men can stand adversity, but if you want to test a man's character, give him power." - Abraham Lincoln
"I learned that courage was not the absence of fear, but the triumph over it. The brave man is not he who does not feel afraid, but he who conquers that fear." - Nelson Mandela
"A coward is incapable of exhibiting love; it is the prerogative of the brave." - Mohandas Gandhi
"When you come to the end of all the light you know, and it's time to step into the darkness of the unkown, faith is knowing that one of two things shall happen: either you will be given something solid to stand on or you will be taught to fly." - Edward Teller
"All your life you are told the things you cannot do. All your life they will say you're not good enough or strong enough or talented enough; they will say you're the wrong height or the wrong weight or the wrong type to play this or be this or achieve this. They will tell you NO, a thousand times no, until all the no's become meaningless. All your life they will tell you no, quite firmly and very quickly. AND YOU WILL TELL THEM YES." - Nike Ad
"This above all: to thine own self be true." - William Shakespeare
Well, that's is quite enough from me, I think ;)
"Live, as if there's no tomorrow... Love, as if you've never been hurt... and Dance, as if no one is watching" (I don't know who said that one... :P)
