Author has written 14 stories for Sherlock Holmes, and Sherlock.
A compulsive writer with an enduring fondness for the Victorian era, I have long been subject to wistfulness for that bygone age of fog, gaslight, scientific discovery and propriety. My other great loves are Sherlock Holmes as penned by Arthur Conan Doyle, gothic horror, mysteries, tales of the supernatural - with my current obsession being all things steampunk.
I am an avid reader, who enjoys keeping up to date with the latest books, though will always prefer wordsmiths of the past to most of what passes for literature today, with my favorite authors being, in no particular order: Edgar Allan Poe, Arthur Conan Doyle, and William Shakespeare, all of whom influenced me profoundly in my desire to set pen to paper. To give credit where it's due, so did old school Anne Rice.
Incurably geeky, I can lay claim to the most obscure interests imaginable. Fan fiction has been one of them for several years now, though it is fair to say my tastes, to a certain extent, have evolved considerably over time. I have always enjoyed action, adventure, plottiness, hurt/comfort, and close male friendships - themes that I hope tend to appear in my own fics. Yet for several reasons, foremost among them being, in my humble estimation, it can often stray too far from the source material, I no longer read or write slash. This sentiment extends to smut of any variety and excessive profanity. As a fic writer, I am averse to lamentable grammar, anachronisms, certain modern adaptations, the dreaded Mary Sue - and promise to steer as clear from them as possible.
