“Once, it pleased the King to raise a small feather from the ground, and he commanded it to fly. The feather flew, not because of anything in itself, but because the air bore it along. Thus am I, a feather on the breath of God." --Hildegarde of Bingen
Wondering about my pen name? Well, Hushi Taloa means "singing bird" in Choctaw. It was my great aunt's name -- her English name was Mary -- and now it is mine as I walk in her footsteps. I am a singer, drummer, and pianist. Rehearsals and performances (mine and others) may or may not be occasionally fueled by copious quantities of fermented beverages.
In addition to being a musician, I am a wife to a brilliant, talented, and honorable husband and a mother to two children -- a sturdy, blue-eyed, blond Viking lad and a wisp of an elf maid with nut-brown hair and eyes. All three often cause my heart to feel as if it could explode with love.
Regarding the Twilight phenomenon: I have no idea why I am so addicted to the series and its fan fiction. It's atypical of me -- and rather embarrassing, if the truth be told. But SM was only my first dealer: the one who enticed me to dip my toes in this river of absinthe. All the great writers found on this website have since kept me blissfully floating in its seductive current. *deadpans* Thanks, guys.
My favorite story of all is A Garment of Brightness by Miaokuancha. It's an unfinished work, but she broke my heart so beautifully, and I actually had the honor to meet her.
Of late, I have broadened my romantic and supernatural boundaries. I now include Bella/Jasper couplings, and I have fallen in love with The Avengers -- in particular the Loki/Darcy and Bucky/Darcy pairings. (TaserTricks or WinterShock, anyone?) Have mercy! I appear to have developed a thing for bad boys!
There are so many lovely and imaginative words on this website. Sincerest orisons I offer to those who dare to write and share pieces of themselves with us. Thank you.
My list of favorites on this profile page was becoming ridiculously long, so I decided to limit it to my Top 300. (I know; this is what I call restraint?) I store the rest in a C2 called My Insane Overflow of Favorite, Completed, Bella/Edward or Bella/Jasper Stories. Check them out; they are all winners in my eyes.
