Author has written 51 stories for M*A*S*H, A-Team, Man From UNCLE, Emergency, Cimarron Strip, and High Chaparral.
Hi Everyone :)
I'm Rosanne Emily Esbrook-Iho/Ross7.
But friends just call me Ross. ;)
My favorite writer's quote comes from Stephen Leacock:
"Writing is not difficult. Writing is easy. Just get paper and pencil and write as it occurs to you. Writing is easy. It's the occurring that's hard."
LOL! I just love that!
Though, thanks to my very vivid imagination, occurring happens 24/7 with me.
It's the writing that's hard.
Real Life does not always allow for the 'writing' down of all the 'occurrings'.
I have been writing fanfiction since 1966.
When I was in Junior High, I had the biggest crush on Illya Kuryakin. I wallpapered my bedroom with pictures of him. Couldn't seem to get enough of the guy, so my first fic was a Man From U.N.C.L.E. story with English moors, T.H.R.U.S.H., Napoleon Solo, Illya Kuryakin, castles, dungeons and such. Great fun!
My imagination is like a vast universe...it knows no bounds.
All of my favorite TV characters are alive and well and inhabiting their own little Quadrants in my imagination universe. I can see them with my mind's eye and hear them with my mind's ear. Honestly, I can actually see their faces and hear their voices in my head. It's pretty dang cool. And, always loads of fun.
Here's how I write fanfic:
(These are the voyages of the Starship Ross' Brain...LOL)
Say I want to write about B.J. and Hawkeye and Charles...
I simply visit the M.A.S.H. Quadrant of my imagination's universe. I beam down with pencil and paper and observe and log what is going on down there.
That is what happened with "M.A.S.H. The Final Episode". I swear, I had no preconceived 'plot' or even a rough 'outline'. I just followed the characters around their Quadrant in my imagination, and recorded the events as they unfolded. I could see and hear everything so incredibly clearly. It was like watching a full-length M.A.S.H. movie! Wow! What a 'trip' that was! Things were happening so fast, I could barely keep up. Couldn't wait to see what they were gonna do or say next...or how it was all gonna end. Crazy, wild ride! But, like I said, a whole lot of fun. :)
I originally wrote the story in script format, present tense. This site does not accept script format. That is why it is being published in chapter increments. I'm transcribing it into story format, past tense.
In hindsight, I probably should have waited until the whole thing was switched over before I published it. But, I finally figured out how to work this website (I've been registered since 2002 but could never figure out how to work things. I'm a techno-dweeb! ) and couldn't wait to start publishing fics here!
Then, it's off at warp 6 speed to the Cimarron Strip Quadrant of my imagination's universe. I beam down to Cimarron, I.T. and pop into The Wayfarers Inn to see what U.S. Marshal Jim Crown is up to. Followed that guy around for three fanfic novels.
Update: October 6th, 2008:
WOO-HOO!! I asked really nicely for a Banacek category and got one!! So, I shall be posting my Banacek fanfic here!! Also...After begging for SIX YEARS, the powers that be have finally added a category for Cimarron Strip here!!
THANKS BUNCHES AND BUNCHES, ZACK!! (Zack is the CATEGORY SUPPORT GUY) :D
I love Westerns. So there are also Lancer, High Chaparral and Wild, Wild West Quadrants in my imagination universe.
I still spend some time in The Man From U.N.C.L.E. Quadrant. I'm there now, in fact, recording "The Seven Seven Three Four Upsidedown Backwards Affair" . Waaaaay fun! (Still have a crush on Illya. But, don't tell my hubby. )
I've got entire Quadrants in my imagination's universe for The Original Star Trek, The A-Team, The Immoratal, Combat and Mannix, as well.
I am THE biggest BEE GEES fan alive. And, Barry, Robin and Maurice have a Quadrant in my imagination's universe, too. The BEE GEES Rock!
I've spent so much time following the firefighter paramedics around, in the EMERGENCY! Quadrant of my imagination universe, that I consider this Quadrant as sort a' my Starbase. LOL I have, beyond a doubt, recorded more 'happenings' here, than in any other Quadrant. Four fanfic novels and still going...with no end in sight!
Imagination is a WONDERFUL thing! And...Suffice it to say...with all the afforementioned characters running around in my 'head space', I am never bored. ;)
My number one reason for writing fanfic has always been FOR MY OWN PERSONAL ENJOYMENT. :)
If I can share the enjoyment I get with other fans, that's just a pleasant bonus. :)
Here's hoping for some pleasant bonuses :fingers crossed:
