Author has written 2 stories for Harry Potter.
Something happened and I got pretty busy . . . to the point where I was faced with the decision of doing a final read through and not posting until next week, or posting today without the final read through. I decided to post today. I hope there aren't any typos/mistakes/notes to self that I forgot to delete.
Anyway, thanks for all of the (mostly) positive feedback. I hope y'all enjoyed the story (even if I didn't). Feel free to send me any questions/comments, but expect them to be ignored - nothing personal, I'm just working on not caring about what other people think of the things I do (it's a long story).
Thank you for embarking on the journey with me. It was longer than I wanted it to be, but I am actually glad that I finished this story and posted it all - there were points when I wasn't sure that I would.
Year 7 should be up either later today or tomorrow. First read through is done, I just want to read through it one more time.
Thank you for bearing with me through all of this!
Now that the Slurpee has worn off, I wanted to post a quick update on my progress.
I'm hoping to have Year 7 up by the middle of next week.
I figured something out about this chapter that means I have to rewrite parts of it, but it's very little rewriting, so it shouldn't take too long.
1 – Some people seem bothered by the fact that I hate this story … it makes more sense if you know me. I am glad that people do seem to be liking it so much.
2 – One reviewer accused me of not thinking something through – I feel like you’d disagree if you saw my 47 pages of (typed) notes (although that does include the chapter outlines) – over the 10 years when Voldemort wasn’t dead, he explored new and experimental types of magic, so things here may be different than the magic that you’re used to in the book. It’s my right as someone creating an AU to confuse you with things you’ve never seen before (if I did a “better” job, I would explain them better … but part of this story for me was always about leaving the reader confused)
3 – Yes, the next chapter (Year 7) is the last chapter. It’s a different format than you’re used to, and ends shortly after Voldemort’s death. For about 5 minutes I considered adding “Nineteen Years Later,” but it didn’t feel right. The ending to the story was one of the earlier things I wrote, and I think it should stay that way.
Still not sure when Year 7 will be up … because of the format change, it's a little harder to proof.
I'm back . . . sorta. Not on my regular computer, but I did copy the chapters over to the computer that I'm using until I get my computer back. No idea how frequent updates will be, but I will try to update my profile when I can and give a estimate of when I expect the final chapter up.
Oh yeah, did I mention that Year 6 is up?
I also discovered that absence doesn't make the heart grow fonder. I still hate this story.
So, I just remembered . . . I'm taking my computer in to get fixed next week. I don't know how long it will take (or if it's even fixable). So, my options are . . . rush through everything and proof either badly or not at all, but get it all up before Monday or try to get Year 5 up soon and everything else will wait a few weeks if necessary.
Guess which option I picked. You guys will just have to wait to see how it ends . . .
Year 5 is taking longer than expected to proof . . . sorry, I been busy. Hopefully it will be up on or before Sunday night, but I make no promises.
