Profile Picture: Futurama Meets Doctor Who. I made it myself
Hey, what are you people doing here?! I'm gonna fire someone for this! ...oh, wait, you're here to read my profile? That's today? Well, go right ahead.
I consider myself a citizen of the fantasy world; I'm the guy you see in the comic book stores arguing with the owner about why Batman's yellow-and-black symbol is cooler than his straight-black symbol. I would rather own a sonic screwdriver for five minutes than become the world's richest man; I'd rather learn to speak Judoon than Spanish. I don't care that I don't have a car or a massive house by the beach; just let me have my comic books and action figures, and I'll be happy.
DC comic books are my favorite works of fiction. My favorite Elseworlds comic is Superman: Red Son, which is what inspired my story, 'Watchmen: Red Son'. The best part of Superman: Red Son is when you get to see Batman portrayed as a Cossack Anarchist. In fact, Batman's probably my favorite fictional character. Period.
Doctor Who is another favorite of mine. If I had to pick one, I'd say my favorite Doctor is Ten, AKA David Tennant. I think Eleven is a good Doctor (almost as good as Ten). I used to really hate River Song, but lately she doesn't seem so annoying (especially after finding out who she is).
Aside from The Doctor, my favorite Who-character is Captain Jack Harkness, because of the sonic screwdriver scene from The Doctor Dances:
Jack Harkness: [pointing his squareness gun at the empty people] Okay, this can function as a sonic blaster, a sonic cannon, and a triple-enfolded sonic disruptor. Doc, what you got?
The Doctor: A sonic... er... oh, never mind.
Jack Harkness: What?
The Doctor: It's sonic, okay? Let's leave it at that.
Jack Harkness: Disruptor? Cannon? What?
The Doctor: It's sonic! Totally sonic! I am sonic-ed up!
Jack Harkness: A sonic what?!
The Doctor: Screwdriver!
Jack Harkness: Who has a sonic screwdriver?
The Doctor: I do!
Jack Harkness: Who looks at a screwdriver and thinks "Ooh, this could be a little more sonic"?
The Doctor: What, you've never been bored? Never had a long night? Never had a lot of cabinets to put up?
I'd say my three favorite authors are Jules Verne, HG Wells, and Ray Bradbury. I love science fiction; it's helped me through a lot of rough points in my life.
I've recently become a fan of Buffy the Vampire Slayer. For a while, it's been one of those things 'I should really know about...' but don't. I started watching it a few months back, and I've gotten hooked. Spike (played by the awesome James Marsters) is my favorite character.
I've started to get into anime, mostly Death Note. I'd really like to get ahold of Light's watch, the one with the hidden compartment.
Pairings I like:
Doctor Who: Ten/Master, Martha/Mickey, Donna/Ten, Nine/Rose, Eleven/Amy, Jack/Almost Anyone (see below), Eleven/Rory
Justice League: Superman/Wonder Woman
Pairings I don't like:
Doctor Who: Amy/River
Torchwood: Jack/Gwen. I don't hate Gwen, it's just that I think we all know which team Jack prefers to play for...
Justice League: Batman/anyone. I honestly don't think that Batman should be with anyone, it goes against his character
“Intellect and romance triumph over brute force and cynicism.”
I heard that on The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson yesterday, and I thought I'd share it with everyone.
Stuff I'm working on:
Dexter/Warriors crossover: Dexter fights the Baseball Furies (Harry says the famous line, of course)
Buffy The Vampire Slayer: Spike accidentally pulls the plug out of the ocean and is afraid to tell Buffy
Angel: Angel harrasses the Wolfram and Hart lawyers. They threaten to sue. Then Angel...well, I don't want to give it away just yet.
Smallville: Recaps of the next seven seasons (meaning the time between SPOILER: when Clark pushed Apokolips out into space and the end scene of the show)
Doctor Who: AU, Amy is actually a policewoman, and Rory is actually a gladiator (just not a very good one).
