Things That Upset Me
1) People who write a horrible review. Constructive criticism is perfectly fine, but, "This fic sucks. This is so gay. I hated reading this," is not a criticism. "Found a few spelling errors, perhaps this would be a better way to word something," is completely appreciated.
2)People imposing themselves on your story. (Example: Not liking the name of your character, they create one FOR you, without asking. Or, not liking the storyline, they come up with one and say, "Do this instead.") Suggestions for a storyline (example: Maybe Aragorn could _ _ in a later chapter, at some point.) are really great and I like them because it shows a reader is really interested in the story.
3)People disregarding requests. Example: I don't like to have bad reviews in my "review book" so to speak, so I ask that they're sent to my e-mail address (firstname.lastname@example.org) instead, so that I may delete them.
4)The use of the word "gay" and the use of the word "retarded" as a bad thing. (Example: "You're retarded!" "That is so gay...") It's truly pathetic that in this day and age, we have taken a word for sexual orientation and a word for mental disability and turned them into negative slurrs.
5)Incorrect English. "Waz up? i ams o bored. i relly like your storie." People, please. We are not uneducated chimpanzees. I hope we can learn to type and act as though we've passed the fourth grade and have SOME shred of education in us.
