yay! im no longer an idiotic kikyou hater! however im not her greatest fan either. i found her treatment of kagome despicable. what gives her the right to sneer at and look down upon kagome. how is it kagome's fault that the spirit of mount azusa is the result of kikyou's treatment of her. if kikyou had treated kagome with some decency and respect the whole azusa rigmarole would have been unnecessary. as for the rabid Kikyou loving shitheads who say Kagome did not save Kikyou ''on purpose''. its kikyou's own fault she died not kagome's.what gives her the right to ''test'' kagome. if any one should be tested it is this malicious prick who puts sneering at her love rival over defeating naraku. if kikyou had helped kagome to become more confident in her powers instead of making her feel insecure with her sneering the trip to azusa would have been unnecessary.

the thing that really disgusted me was this. she put the burden of saving her life on kagome without telling her that only her soul could be saved. that poor girl did her best to accomplish the impossible- save kik's life and she was miserable when she couldn't. kik did not even bother to tell her that she had succeeded in saving her soul. how cruel is that? inflicting the burden of your death on someone and not doing any thing to ease the guilt. yes i know kikyou is actually kind, she saved kohaku , has marysue powers etc but i felt this exposed kik's true nature and turned me off her permanently. however it was disappointing how rt chose to turn her into some kind of ''marysue'' with all those strange powers. its also funny how they go on and on about how kikyou used her ''light'' to hurt naraku and save kohaku's life. but really i doubt she would be able to even use it if kagome had not saved her soul in the first place. so all you kag bashers out there kohaku owes his life to kagome's strength of character. but of course rt never glorifies poor kagome like she does kikyou.

i repeat im not bashing her at all she HAS shown kindness and courage in her own way. but she has also committed many questionable actions that i cant ignore. on the whole i have made my peace with her character. i wish rt had concentrated more on the characterization of the others too. i mean sango asking kagome to osuwari inuyasha after kikyou's death? shippou telling him he's too gloomy? kagome who hugged him and told him that she understood his guilt over the bandits' death shouting at him''dont hurt the children'' as if she didnt trust him... what the hell was rt smoking when she was doing those chapters? and why did she increase the osuwaris? i hate them with a passion. i know rt included it as comic relief or something. but inuyasha is not a comedy manga and when did sitting a outcast hanyou become funny?

i like kagome a lot too (when she's not PMSing about her studies) but those sits get on my nerves and are a disservice to her character... i mean they suddenly increased around the time of kikyou's deaths. even in the beginning when they did not like or trust each other kagome never osuwaried him that much. id much prefer it if she just gave him a verbal lashing, dumped him or pretended to dump him for some one else or even bitch slapped him or punched him or kicked him in the balls. much cooler payback for perceived cheating and lying... my opinion of inuyasha is a bit confusing. the first time i read the manga i hated him. he came across as a liar and a twotimer. the second time around it seemed to me that he loved kagome more intensely than she did him. i was actually angry at her for sitting him! like i said, confusing... wow takahashi is really good at characterization. having said that her weakest characters were surprisingly kagome and kikyou. kagome because rt did not take enough chances with her and kikyou because she was turned into a perfect, never done wrong in my life ''misunderstood'' character. she was extremely unrealistic. i do not hate her just dislike her. oh and i still hate angst that does not further a story.

oh and inuyasha if you loved kikyou soo much why didn't you just stick with her instead of letting her roam the countryside all alone? to hear you moaning and groaning ''kikyou (melodramatic pause) i couldnt save you...'' really got on my last nerve. well duh if you're not around to actually protect her and enjoying your self carrying on a ''relationship'' with another girl of course kikyou will die. haven't you learned any thing? self preservation isn't exactly her strongest point. no i don't support inukik. its a relationship based completely on him feeling sorry for her(yes even before she died) and guilt. not the strongest base to build a relationship on. if he loved her that much he always had the option of sending kagome home. that way kikyou would have no choice but to travel with the group. but inu was a selfish jerk and he didn't do that. so its highly irritating to see him mourn for kikyou like he did everything in his power to protect her or something.

when that kao moron said kikyou was ''the woman he loved most in the world'' i nearly burst out laughing. riiight... the woman he cant even die with properly, the one who has to die or pretend to be dead a few times in order to get him to think of her. clearly guilt=love in rt's fucked up opinion. if you want someone to love you just foolishly get yourself killed n number of times with no regard for what this could do to their emotional and mental health. oh and only death is a proof of twu wuw. really understanding someone with all their faults and insecurities and trying to help them and all those other unexciting things in an everyday realistic relationship can never beat ''dying'' because boo hoo hoo ''my heart was broken and i dont wanna LIVE anymore( never mind the orphan sister i'm leaving behind). how could rt allow the brainwashing of an innocent young girl into believing the only way to prove her love is to be dead? when kagome said ''because i'm still alive'' in that depressed way and IY didnt even correct her. ooh... rt you are a disgusting, disgusting person.

rt must think we're morons or something. she never gave inukik relationship any real development other than those giant dollops of angst and guilt. and then she glorifies that relationship to a ridiculous and frankly irritating extent. now i have nothing against their relationship. but at least give me some real development before you expect me to support them, feel sorry for them or whatever. have they ever even had a simple quarrel? inuyasha doesn't even really know kikyou. and she doesn't know him. and who cares if he really loved kagome? doesn't change the fact that he pretty much treated her like crap and made her feel second best for a long time.

love is pretty meaningless if you keep it locked inside yourself and don't bother to TELL the person that you love how much they mean to you. its the most selfish and hurtful thing to do. taking love and not giving anything in return. i feel sorry for kikyou that she had to die before she could see inuyasha's loving side and i feel sorry for kagome that the fates cursed her to get involved with him at all. yeah i know she started out an obnoxious brat and meeting inuyasha caused her to become more mature and less selfish. but im sure it could have happened with any other boy with less pain and loss of self esteem... and inu could have died with his precious kikyou and spared us all that bullshit whining.

This review someone left on a story based on chapter 465 perfectly encapsulates my opinion of Kikyou.

I feel tears in my eyes. I despise Kikyo. Every time I see her on the TV, I have a basket of paper balls by my side. In the mangas, I cross out her face if she does something dumb.

But now, I feel like crying for her. Is this pity?

I'll miss the way she makes the happy manga chapters gloomy again. I'll miss the way she tries to be independant and then falls off another cliff.

Jeeze I dont hate her but I do hate her madcap fans. The shitheads who declare that its not fair that kagome is living - and I quote- ''Kikyou's life''. Really?? Cause last time I checked when Inuyasha was going fulldemon psycho Kikyou was not the one racing through painful acid to support him, she never gave him any friends (she didn't have the guts to stand up for him before her village and had to resort to asking him to become human. Anyone who even remotely knows Inuyasha would never ask him to do something like that. Its common knowledge Kikyou and Inuyasha weren't that close when she was alive. She complained he never showed her his softer side). Okay Naraku turned her against Inuyasha.

But really what was stopping her from staying by his side once she came back. If you love someone shouldn't you be by their side supporting them ?(like Kagome does). She has no excuse. Inuyasha was desperate to protect her. If she had a shred of decency the ability to think of something other than herself she would understand his pain and stay by him. But she didn't did she? They could have fought Naraku together. But No. All she does is turn up from time to time to stake her claim on him ensuring he can never move on. She did not even try to comfort him. Turning up according to her convenience to shoot maybe three random arrows in the course of the Manga does not equal love however much Takahashi may try to glorify and inflate it.

Fact of the matter is her only claim to ''loving'' Inuyasha is ''dying and following after him'' which if you study the manga carefully is utter rubbish. She died because a) her wound was fatal b)she had been through a painful experience and she wanted the peace of death and c)she was not prepared to face the consequences of what she'd done. Inuyasha had nothing to do with that decision. Say that Iy loves Kikyou and I'll agree with you that he is infatuated with her in a way he isn't with Kagome. Say Kikyou ''loves'' IY or that ''she died to follow him'' and I will laugh my ass off at your lack of intelligence. Kikyou only loves herself and the people she helps. bottom line-

The friendship between Inuyasha and Kagome is deeper, stronger and more realistic than the ''love'' between Inuyasha and Kikyou.

The Inutachi love Inuyasha and understand him better than Kikyou ever did or bothered to.

( There's a reason the anime had to pull two fillers out of its ass to give the InuKik relationship some much needed depth.)

Kikyou wasn't worth even 1% of all the pain and misery and guilt and shame and confusion and suicidal tendencies Inuyasha endured on her account. She would have done him much good by remaining dead. Kagome could have purified the jewel just fine without her. After all it was Hitomiko not Kikyou who bothered to train the poor girl in some capacity however small.

THE PLOT FOR INUYASHA?

Takahashi tried to drag Kagome through the muck so that she could glorify her Precious Self insert Kikyou through mind bending DEUX EX MACHINA FOR EXAMPLE, KOHAKU LIGHT BULLSHIT, HOW SHE MIRACULOUSLY BECOMES MORE POWERFUL AFTER BEING EATEN UP BY MIASMA, HIJIRI SAMA BULLSHIT AND PLENTY OF OTHER BULL SHIT, THE FACT THAT SHE PRETTY MUCH HANDED THE JEWEL TO NARAKU AND ALL HER LATER ''HEROICS'' ARE ONLY HER DOING HER DUTY TO CLEAN UP THAT MESS, IS PRETTY MUCH NEVER MENTIONED.

This IDIOTIC author fangirling ruined poor Kikyou's character for me. After all that over kill she became a pretty much irredeemable Mary Sue. Kagome was made to make many humiliating concessions- ''understand'' inuyasha's ''attachment'' to kikysue and other rubbish under the disguise of so called ''character development'' . I mean Kag was unrecognizable at the end there. What I LOVED about her in the beginning was that she DID NOT give a shit about him. Can you say the girl who jumped head along into Hell to save a young girl's soul without giving a shit if IY was coming for her or not , and the girl at the end who could not make such a simple wish without the big strong male there to hold her hand , were the same girl?

Its one thing to create weak female characters. But to drag down formerly awesome STRONG female characters you have to be a special kind of fucked up. So in the end Kikyou goes from the cliche ''demented woman trope'' to ''angel of mercy trope'' with no explanation of how she got there, SANGO becomes a baby making machine, and Kagome inexplicably gives up everything to return to an immature and selfish jerk. I know he loves her but he has to learn to show it the right way otherwise its pretty much worthless and I never got the feeling that he actually respected her. The whole '' I love you but I'll pretend I don't really care '' playground crap gets old fast. Very nice job, RT.

RT doesn't even respect her fans- the ones who keep her franchise running. With the bullshit she was churning towards the end there, its obvious all she cares about is ''prostituting'' her lovely characters and trying to milk her ''cash cow'' long after it should have ended. Man, its a sad day when FANFICTION writers take more trouble and do more justice to the characters and the plot than the author does. And they do it for free!

RT has no artistic integrity. Though she has a GREAT imagination. Here's hoping her next series is a colossal flop. She deserves that.

A SPECIAL BREED OF WRITERS: If you are a Kikyou lover who writes InuKag, this is for you. WHY do you find it necessary to ALWAYS drag Kikyou into your stories as the ”perfect woman” kag can never measure up to. At least have the decency to mention in the summary that there's going to be a lot of InuKik and Kagome feeling insecure and/or unloved or being devalued or being reduced to Inuyasha's consolation prize for losing first prize Kikyou/ his convenient arm candy etc. in your stories. There is nothing more irritating than to waste time on a story where Kagome is a doormat. I honestly want to slap the writers when I'm subjected to this. I read Inu/Kag because I enjoy Kagome as a character not because I want to read about Kikyou being the perfect Marysue. X( God if you love her so much just run a site about her or post stories in the InuKik section. Or are you afraid you wont get enough hits if you do that.
