Pairings: I have very little bias when it comes to pairings. Usually, so long as the story is well written, I can read anything. Strangely though, the one thing that tics me off is canon. I very rarely come across a good fic with canon pairings.
For example-NarutoXHinata almost always turns out to be either a harem fic or a 'Naruto is all powerful and has been hiding it' fic. I find them very predictable and extremely annoying.
Another example-RonXHermione. One of the few pairings I refuse to read. There is no life to their relationship. Nothing. Zip. Nada. Zilch.
I'm sorry if you disagree. If you have a fic that can prove me wrong, then by all means send it to me! I would love to have my stereotype blown out of the water by a fantastic piece of literature. Until then, my opinion still stands.
All powerful characters: You must have a good reason for the main character to have suddenly gained a whole mess of awesome power. They can't just wake up one morning and be like, "Cool, I can lift a mountain with my left pinky while simultaneously defeating every bad guy that looks at me sideways". If your reasoning is good then I'm fine.
Grammar: Shoot me now. If I see one more person write your instead of you're I'll rip their heads off and feed it to my dogs. I am a grammar Nazi and very proud of it. I try to look past grammar in a fic. If I see a few comma errors...well, that's fine. I make them myself. If I see the wrong there/they're/their I'm not reading it.
A masochist, sadist, murderer, pyromaniac, zoophile, and necrophiliac were all sitting on a bench toghether bored out of their minds. To break the silence the zoolphile spoke up,"Let's have sex with a cat." He suggested. The sadist spoke, "Let's have sex with a cat and then torture it." The murderer spoke, "Let's have sex with a cat, torture it, then kill it." The necrophiliac got excited and spoke. "Let's have sex with a cat, torture it, kill it, then have sex with it again." The pyromaniac spoke next, "Let's have sex with a cat, tortue it, kill it, have sex with it again, then burn it." They all fell quiet. The masochist then sheepishly smiled at them and said, "Meow."
Books are always better than real, live boyfriends any day of the week. They don't talk back and they're always there for you. You can have as many of them as you want and they won't complain.
God created man before woman because every masterpiece needs a rough draft.
"Me? I'm dishonest, and with a dishonest man, you can always trust him to be dishonest. Honestly, its the honest ones you have to watch out for because you never know when he's going to turn around and do something incredibly stupid."
The scarred man smirked before looking at the occupants in the bed, “Hello, law abiding citizens,” his gaze shifted to the three Uchihas, “Marginally law abiding citizens,” and then his eyes fell on Kisame, “… citizen.”
