Welcome to my profile!
I mainly write for my series, the Child Swap series, which is a modern day alternative universe populated by Shakespeare characters, whose lives loosely follow the events of the plays they come from. For example, in the Italian City State of Verona, the Capulets and Montagues dwell, ruled by Prince Escalus and his House of Vincentino, whilst in England, Edward IV has recently taken the throne from Henry VI.
But the story does not follow history or canon. The Capulets and Montagues stop feuding. Rosaline does not want to be a nun. The cast have friends and extended family who are not originally found in the plays who can change the course of events at will. Characters from different plays interact with each other and can change events too. If Romeo and Juliet can survive, maybe Hamlet can too. Maybe even Bosworth Field could lead to a different outcome...
The Child Swap series
In order of publication, the series is as follows...
Child Swap - Romeo, Mercutio and Benvolio throw Tybalt in the fountain, and find themselves making a reality TV show about what would happen if the Capulets and Montagues swapped kids for two weeks. Will they discover they have more in common than they don't?
A Long Year's Nightmare - A year after the experimental swap, Hermia is left torn between her feelings for two boys. But her life is changed forever in one nightmarish evening at the hands of her friend Helena's vile boyfriend. What should she do? Who will stick by her? And who does she love the most?
What's Love? - How exactly did Romeo and Juliet meet? What is this backstory between Benvolio, Gabriel and Rose? What happened when Mercutio filmed Tybalt and Rosaline together and showed Romeo? What made Rosaline, one of the top students and Queen Bee, fall for chavvy troublemaker Tybalt?
The Students Of Venice - Benvolio and Mercutio leave Verona for Venice, to attend Ca' Foscari University, taking with them Hermia, Eliseo and Allegra (who belongs to Cornadopa, read Mercutio and Allegra, people, it's in my favs) Everything's fine, until Benvolio's dad Anthony falls into debt, and accepts a loan from an old school rival, Shylock, with a dodgy forfeit. Meanwhile, Gabriel gets thrown out of La Scala Ballet Company for bitching and Tybalt and Rosaline accept an internship for a finance company, based in Venice.
Lapland - A 'ten years later' Christmas vignette of the Child Swap series, based on the BBC drama of the same name. The families from Child Swap go on holiday to Lapland during Christmas, only to endure trouble and chaos.
Family Ties - Gabriel has finally grown up and escaped his horrible father Angelo's clutches. But when his partner Amparo asks him to help her and her friend Isabella Montague take Angelo down for her political career, whose side should he take? And was Angelo as bad as he believed? Meanwhile, Paris gets married and a bunch of volatile warring guests arrive, including the bratty prince Edouard of Lancaster, who inspires Mercutio to write a musical...
The Cat, The Fawn, And The Roses In Winter - Inspired by 'The Lion In Winter' Henry VI decides to host a Christmas court to promote peace between the Yorkists and Lancastrians. He also invites several European courts, including the Italian City of Verona. With a crazy hyperactive eight year old Mercutio getting up to no good, the Capulets and Montagues fighting, the other children all clashing with Henry VI's son, it is certain that things will NOT go to plan...
Not only do I write for the Child Swap series, but being a Ricardian, I also like to write fiction featuring Richard III on his own.
R.A - A modern day couple, Rick and Annika meet online. Annika is a Ricardian and Rick is a freelance journalist working on an article about Richard III. As they grow closer, the lives of Richard III and his queen, Anne Neville, begin to intertwine. Can Annika and Rick answer that centuries old question - was Richard III innocent or evil?
A Dream of Death - It is the night before Bosworth, and King Richard III has a dream of all that he longs for.
I don't only write for my series and about Richard, I have also written some other Shakespeare fanfiction, and also a Harry Potter fanfiction.
Mean Boys - Benvolio moves from Africa to Verona, where he meets 'The King Cat' Tybalt! Romeo and Juliet do Mean Girls, with appearances from OCs from the series.
The Girl Who Lied - Snape escorts a new student to Hogwarts around Diagon Alley to get her supplies - but who is she and what is her connection to him? This is also discontinued because it's shit!
The Untold Tale of Tybalt and Rosaline - This is my first fanfiction, however, it has been discontinued. It was intended to be Rosaline and Tybalt's version of events during Romeo and Juliet. Like said, I'm not continuing it, however, I have turned parts of the story into the Child Swap series instalment, What's Love?
I'm Yours - A song fic about Hermia and Benvolio to 'I'm Yours' by Jason Mraz.
Robin Hood, the Pantomime - My Sixth Form Christmas Pantomime that I co-authored!
Ideas For Future Stories
Mercutio Rules - After Escalus and most of Mercutio's family are killed, Mercutio is left as the Prince of Verona. Which means no more parties, no more mischief, no more fun with his Montague friends. But how will he cope when dealing with the feud? After all, forcing Tybalt to become his personal slave isn't exactly legal... I also don't know if I should do this one in modern day setting or ye olde times.
