"A person is a fool to become a writer. His only compensation is absolute freedom. He has no master except his own soul, and that, I am sure, is why he does it."- Roald Dahl
"There’s probably no better example of the throttling of creativity than the difference between what we observe in a kindergarten classroom and what we observe in a high school classroom,” she writes in Teach Your Children Well. “Take a room full of five-year-olds and you will see creativity in all its forms positively flowing around the room. A decade later you will see these same children passively sitting at their desks, half asleep or trying to decipher what will be on the next test.”- Tina Barseghian
Hello ya'll! My name is Alyssa, but I assume that if you wanted to, you could shorten that to Lysa or Lyss and I'd be fine with it:3 This is just the place where I come to write and fan-girl over the obsessions that have consumed what little social-life I had!
Music is also my life- I will actually basically listen to anything (...though I really can't stand rap. My apologies to any of you who I've offended with this statement). I love Mayday Parade; they will forever be the band that saved my life. I also like Of Mice & Men, Pierce the Veil, Sleeping with Sirens, Luke Bryan, Toby Keith, Tim McGraw, Gregory and the Hawk, Taylor Swift, Brand New, Mozart, We Came As Romans, Beethoven, Chopin (absolute favorite composer), Abingdon Boys School, Stereopony, Frank Sinatra, Perry Como, and so many others! So, if you ever want to talk about music...I am all ears!
I hope you can take my stories as an example- I'm not the best, but I'm definitely improving! If you look at a story such as, "Searching For You", and now "The Angels of Insanity", there's improvement there! So never feel like you'll never get better at writing; like anything, it takes time, practice, and most of all, passion. So never give up
“So, this is my life. And I want you to know that I am both happy and sad and I'm still trying to figure out how that could be.”- Stephen Chbosky
