Soooo...six years later and I'm actually writing a profile. It's about time I guess.
Confessions of a Bibliofile.
I've loved to read and write for pretty much my entire life. I've been reading fanfics for about 10 years on multiple sites but it was only with the very recent encouragement from my husband that I actually put a story out there.
I love romance and magic.
I grew up with Harry Potter and cut my fanfic teeth on Draco/Ginny ships and never looked back. There's just something about trying to find a redeeming quality for Draco and sticking him in a Romeo and Juliet scenario that I absolutely love.
I love strong, independent female characters with a weakness for stronger men who take charge.
I like steamy sex scenes and always search specifically for M ratings.
I don't like slash. Not because it bothers me but because I don't relate to it. I like to immerse myself in a story and that's easier if you understand the feelings behind it.
Reviews make me feel powerful. Yup. Every time I write one I honestly try to be kind while still giving my honest opinion but it always makes me feel powerful. I guess it's because I know how much I want approval for my own writing and I feel like giving it to others will affect them the way opinions affect me.
And my last confession for you?
I have a box stashed in the back of my closet filled with Harry Potter fanfics that 15 year old me just had to print and save forever... I still can't bring myself to toss them.
