Author has written 6 stories for Glee, and White Collar.
I am 18 years old, Indian and studying medicine. I read a lot and enjoy a good book as much as, and perhaps even more than the next person. My favourites include Harry Potter, Twilight, Jeffrey Archer books, The Malgudi Days, Agatha Christie and others. I enjoy speaking and writing. I am also a huge fan of the superheroes genre - I shall always remain a die-hard Superman fanatic. Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman is one of my all time favourite tv shows. Dean Cain - hotness!!
Lois and Clark's relationship is perhaps the best expressed in Lois & Clark. It is a beautiful dynamic, where Superman does not play Clark, but Clark is the primary character. Clark is THE man behind the cape. Clark is who he is, Superman is what he can do. Add Lois into the equation and you have a heck of a story. I recommend this show to anyone with a thing for superhero stories. I love Smallville too and enjoy reading Smallville fanfic.
Harry Potter is not just a story to me, Harry and I grew up together. Harry is my best friend, brother, lover, mate, feel-good buddy, my partner in crime, my guide, philosopher, and many more things. I feel an irrevocable bond to Harry and his world. JKR did something to my life that day she decided to write about this boy wizard - having grown up all alone without siblings, Harry took up all that space in my heart and mind. I was enchanted by his magic and still am. I know I will never be too old for Harry. I will never outgrow him. Even today, when I am feeling down - whatever be the reason, I pick up any of the seven and read a few pages. Harry is my recharge portal. He is my reality-check in life, ironic it may seem as he himself is just a figment of imagination. But it is very true that he is that reality-check. He reminds me not to take life too seriously. He brings out the child in me. He makes me rejoice with him as he casts his first successful patronus. We both learnt together of Remus' most important life lesson - Chocolate cures everything.
Given my love for Harry, the character I most identify with books is not the protagonist. It is Hermione Granger. She is my most favourite character, not becuase she is perfect. On the contrary, I love her flawedness and her growth as a character. Hermione is one of JKR's most evolved characters - the same witch who looked around for wood to rid Devil's Snare saves both Harry and Ron's butts by book 7. She overcomes her weaknesses, she learns to think quickly on her feet and puts her faculties to their best use. She may be a know-it-all, a hard worker, a nerd to use the popular terminology, but what is wrong with that?
Like every other teenage girl, I am in love with the Twilight series. It has my most favourite vampire in the world. He is gorgeous, understanding, compassionate, gifted, flawed and extremely romantic. No, my fellow twi-mates: I am not talking about Edward. I am talking about dilf, Dr. Carlisle CUllen. Carlisle, I think, is the most wonderful creation of SM's. Generally, Twilight readers seem to think he is perfect in every way and that makes it difficult for fans to relate to him.
But Carlisle is anything but perfect.
But what makes Carlisle so wonderful is his continuous trial to become perfect and good. After being bitten, he tries desperately to cling to his humanity. Doing so, he discovers a whole new way of life. He realises that he cannot help being what he is, but he definitely can help his actions. He decides to help others and in doing so, finds a profession that challenges the essence of his existence every day. He fights loneliness, and after years, decides to inflict upon another boy what happened to him. That action would haunt him for the rest of his existence - however much he may justify his action based on Elizabeth Masen's plea, was he right in playing God while trying to be man?
Carlisle is a writer's dream come true and I find him intriguing. If you are a Carlisle fan like me, then I recommend you read 'Ithaca is Gorges' by giselle-lx. You can find it on my Favourite Stories List.
