Hey, everybody! Yesm777 here. After surviving in the fanfiction world for awhile, I am very pleased by everyone's kind words. I could hardly hurt a fly (or even a spider, which I'm terrified of), but I seem to enjoy the drama of whump stories anyhow. As a writer, I enjoy exploring the emotional aspects of characters, and as some may notice, I love to reach into the character's thoughts during emotional turmoil. People amaze me. The way they think, they are, they create...I just love people. Each individual is something unique and different, and that's what I love to explore as a writer. I love to write about people interacting with people. People realizing the importance of another. Or just how differently each person reacts to separate individuals. I write about human beings. Or I try to, at least.
Also, after getting some reviews that just discourage me...I ask you as a sensitive person to follow a better outline of structured criticism. Here is one that accomplishes getting your point across of what you don't like as well as giving the person positive feedback so they just don't feel like they're the worst writer in the world:
This means you tell them what you like, then say, "But something you could work on is..." and so on. Then, give them one last good point. Please don't throw all their faults at them at once because that will make them feel as if they will never be a truly great writer. And use language that isn't cutting and harsh, please. I just don't want aspiring writers to feel bad about themselves because of what they had received in response to their story. It takes a lot to find the right words to say in these tales, and I think anyone who takes the time to write something like a fanfiction deserves to be rewarded some kind words.
I'm not forcing you to do this, and I don't mean to seem like a bossy person...but I am begging you to treat writers with a little more care. We're displaying our talent, and we hope for some feedback as to what is quality and what could be worked on, but we don't wish to be shot down completely.
