So many novels end with the promise of marriage, and so few describe what happens after. I've often wondered about this particular wedding night, but frankly, Mr Darcy has changed so much by giving him some human feelings, I cannot imagine him, or Elizabeth, fumbling secretly in the dark anymore. Their first efforts must be heart-warming, their married life as well. Purists beware!

Thank you to everyone who left comments on my first short story - your encouragement has led to this new, light hearted, 'What if', where Darcy and Elizabeth allow each other the opportunity for candid speech earlier in their interactions. In this scenario, it is granted partway through Elizabeth's stay at Netherfield, leading to a much earlier conclusion of events.

Mr Darcy is not able to see Elizabeth on the evening that she does not go to dinner at Rosings and as a result the disastrous Hunsford proposal never takes place. The next day when hoping to meet her on her morning walk he instead overhears a conversation with Charlotte which leads him to rethink his approach...

After the Hunsford Proposal, Mr. Bennet's death inspires Darcy to propose again. How will an unreformed Darcy and a grieving Elizabeth deal together in marriage?

When his proposal was a flop Darcy wrote a letter hoping to clarify some matters, but Elizabeth isn't going to take it without justification. "What have you written that has not already been said?" Another confrontation of inflamed emotions will change their path because there's a fine line between love and hate, after all "I was in the middle before I knew that I had begun."(WIP)

After an unfortunate carriage accident, Elizabeth Bennet becomes separated from her family. She eventually finds herself working as a servant in Derbyshire. While working as a chambermaid, Elizabeth is able to help Fitzwilliam Darcy, who has suffered a severe trauma. Note: this story contains references to sexual assault.

It was a dark and stormy night when Edward Masen made his way to Swan House in the hopes of fulfilling his father's promise. He prayed Master Swan would honor the contract Edward, Sr., had made but could no longer uphold. Little did the young man know that the storms of life strike equally, regardless of social status, and he was not the only one searching for a safe port.

Most everyone in his extended family is angry at Mr. Darcy, including at oft times his wife, Elizabeth. Can he do anything to damp down all this anger before it drives away everyone he loves?

An epidemic has hit Meryton. The story starts just after Elizabeth arrives at Netherfield to nurse her sister, who was taken ill during a visit with Caroline Bingley.

Jane and Lizzy must prepare to face an uncertain future. Shunned by Mrs. Bennet and largely ignored by Mr. Bennet, they face additional challenges when a young gentleman of fortune leases Netherfield Park. Tired and disillusioned by society, Mr Darcy decides to take a vacation, but most certainly not of the kind one would expect from a man of his consequence. No, to avoid turning bitter he decides it's time for a change and a drastic one. What he has not counted on is, that in doing so he could lose his heart. Now back!

A second glance at Elizabeth, and Darcy felt an immediate pull. In a library one evening, his guard dropped, and he couldn't help himself. It was not a lady's imagination that led a rapid jump from admiration to matrimony skipping over love, but it was rather the heated actions of both. Deep feelings tend to get in the way when hidden and can undo the potential for happiness.

5 years after Georgiana had Wickham's child and Darcy secluded himself with her at Pemberley, Bingley convinces Darcy and his sister to visit him and Jane at Netherfield. Elizabeth thinks he is rude, but exceedingly handsome.

Darcy retreated to Pemberley to nurse his broken heart after Elizabeth rejected his proposal at Hunsford. Elizabeth, touring Derbyshire with the Gardiners, met Darcy in the grounds of Pemberley.
