Author has written 4 stories for Evangelion.
Currently residing in Anchorage, Alaska, in the frozen wastelands of the north. It's actually very nice here.
UPDAAAAAAAATE: After a horrible set of writer's block, the curse has lifted and I'm writing again. I'm sorry to everyone who's been waiting so patiently for me to put words on paper, I am! It's actually quite humbling to come back to the site and see that even after so long a gap in anything being written so many people are still reading the things I have written. Anyhow, I'm not sure when Chapter 34 of Matters of Faith will be complete, but I'm about 60% of the way done with the first draft. It's a rough process, getting the words flowing again to how I like them, but it's coming along.
Again, for what it's worth, my apologies.
Matters of Faith
A new(ish) look on Gendo Ikari, in which he is still in charge of NERV, is still the arrogant, ruthless bastard that calls the tune to which everyone dances, but underneath it all, he is still a good man, and loving father. For a certain value of good, of course.
Shinji Ikari and the Academy of GEHIRN (BEING REWRITTEN)
A fusion of Evangelion, Harry Potter, The Familiar of Zero and the Cthulhu Mythos. Shinji is invited by the Headmaster of the Academy of GEHIRN, one Kozo Fuyutsuki, to attend classes and reside permanently at the castle, deep under Tokyo-3, in the Geo-Front. There, he meets the Akagis (Naoko, Ritsuko and Rei), Misato, and a slew of others. He settles into life there, trying to get by, all while trying to find out more about his parents, the man who killed them (He Who Must Not Be Named, ala Lorenz Kiel), and decipher the strange things that he was told by the Sorting Hat. Expect this story to take a back seat to Matters of Faith. UPDATE: Currently undergoing a rewrite. Never fear, this is being worked on!
NGE meets the world of the Norse Mythos. SEELE hopes to usurp the new world that comes after Ragnarok, but to do so, but must deal with the Fire Giants before the Gods wake up. The Fimbulwinter is in full swing. Rei is a boy, Asuka is a boy, Shinji is a girl. Shinji is named Rei, Rei is named Shinji. Asuka is named something else. Other characters retain their respective sexes and names (for the most part). Their is a full coterie of Evangelion Pilots, drawn from across NATO. There are seven complete Evangelions, each named for a day of the week, themed after the Norse god they were cloned from. Unit-01 is Thursday, born of Thor. NERV's HQ and the GEO-Front is in Iceland. Extremely AU.
To be announced.
A one shot story of life after impact for Rei, Shinji, and Kaworu.
One shot for Valentine's Day. It's short, it's sweet, it's to the point. Shinji marries Rei.
Now, I've got some questions for you if you don't mind:
How do think I'm doing on stuff like dialog, characterization and descriptions of things and events? (ie, Lilith, and action scenes, like the Angel battles)
Where am I doing well, and where am I not?
One of the reasons I'm doing this is to work on my writing skills, and I'm constantly trying to improve. Obviously I need to work on some of the technical issues, (such as spelling and grammar), but there is always something to improve.
I certainly think that the fight scenes are suitably awesome and whatnot, but I'm biased, obviously. So how do they seem to you? Lacking? In want of more distilled awesome in a coke bottle? I ask this because I go back and look at my stuff, and then I go and re-read some of other stories here (like Nobody Dies, Shinji & Warhammer 40k, Aeon Natum Engel / Aeon Entelechy Evangelion, etc) and I says to myself, 'meh, mine kinda suck'. (or at least pale in comparison and are in want of oommf, and that je n'cest quois, if you will)
I love the notes that people leave for me, and while they certainly are an ego boost and proof that people like what I'm writing, but I want to know where to make it even better. I'm not bashing the reviews that say stuff like "good job, keep writing!" by any means, but I'd like to know what in particular stands out to you. So if I can keep doing my fights generally as they are, certain and assured that they are indeed comparable to the other heavy hitters on the board, to work on something else, like characterization or plot, or something else, it would be good to know.
