The teaser for my first original fic is up and available online HERE! Check it out!!!
Hi. For those of you who don't know, I'm ED. I am a twenty four year old college student working sixty hours a week at three different jobs (bakery, child care, entrepreneur) while still trying to finish a *ing college degree.
I'm pretty liberal, human rights are kind of a big issue with me, and while I'm not an activist (that takes a level of time and energy that I simply do not possess right now) I do volunteer on a regular basis and try to be an informed human being and voter. At the moment, most of that volunteering revolves around a professional development/service organization called Rotaract. www.rotaract.org It is seriously one of the best platforms out there for getting involved but, like most things, is ultimately what you make of it. To that end I have recently written a beginners guide to Rotaract called 'Rotaracting 101' and would seriously appreciate your support in helping me promote it. If that's not to your taste, I do have an original sci/fi fantasy coming out later in 2015 called D'emons in the Dark' which I seriously think you should keep an eye out for- it's gonna be good :)
But onto less serious stuff... I like sci-fi, drama and cross overs. I have left stories hanging before, but intend not to do so again. Part of how much time I have to write is actually dependent on my independent projects (not sure if that counts as irony or illiteration).
I have three fanfics up at the moment, but am focusing on Snakes or Slugs since no one seems to care about Oracle- my Heroes x X-men Evolution fic. Anyone want me to continue with either that one or the 'How to Rock' x 'Rags' fic just let me know. Otherwise consider them on Hiatus until SoS is done (which won't be for a very long time). I've got more in the works (I've always got more in the works) and will probably put it up to a pole once the first installment of SoS is done.
As for my personal projects...
Rotaracting 101 - My first foray into independent publishing just to get my toes wet. A how to book for my fellow Rotaractors which, for those of you who don't know, is an international community service and professional development organization which I've sort of thrown myself into over the last five years or so (see above).
Demons in the Dark - My first truly independent story due to be published by 2016. SciFi/Fantasy set in a world where war and demon attacks have become as much a part of life as the rise and fall of the sun and moon. Out story focuses primarily on a single family, just trying to get through from day to day. Not exactly Shakespeare, but not bad if I do say so myself.
Magus Insula - A childrens picture book written as a promise to a certain six year old about a magical island and all of the fabulous creatures that live there. 2016
A Castle in Time - A childrens chapter book written as a promise to a certain eight... my apologies. A certain nine year old girl. Three girls at summer camp wander off and find a magical castle frozen in time. They must race against the clock and find a way to reverse the spell or else everything they know could be destroyed, forever. 2016
True Par - SciFi. Expected release date... ? Post Apocalyptic near future. Except... the apocolypse wasn't exactly what we thought it was. And now all we're left with is a bunch of teenagers to try and deal with the aftermath. Think 'Lost Boys' meets 'Lord of the Flies' meets 'Alas Babylon'.
For those of you interested in checking these projects out, my facebook page can be reached by clicking here. I will be posting excerpts and teaser material as it goes into development. And promotional materials will also be available soon (I'm thinking of making T-Shirts) to help pay for publishing and promotional costs.
