Author has written 6 stories for Digimon, and Pokémon.
Gender: Female, though more than slightly tomboyish
WARNING: Don't read my favorites list if you don't want to be spoiled anything for whatever game/book/anime I end up posting. Also, my opinions are always changing to match the times, so don't be surprised if what's here one day is gone on another.
Favorite Sources of Entertainment:
Pokemon: Whether its the games or the Special manga, Pokemon never gets old for me. I enjoyed the anime but I can no longer take it seriously. I might rewatch it for laughs and nostalgia's sake though. My ranking of the regions: Johto, Kalos, Hoenn, Sinnoh, Kanto, Unova. They're all so good with their own things actually so it doesn't mean much at all. My ranking of PokeSpe arcs: RS, DP, GSC, FRLG, HGSS, RBG, Y, E. Not including BW and beyond because I want to read the full volume chapters, not magazine sneak-peeks.
Digimon: Can't a Pokemon fan enjoy Digimon too? I don't know, but I find myself lucky to enjoy both series. Digimon games suck compared to Pokemon but the Pokemon anime has nothing on Digimon! Plus, all the psychological trauma behind the characters... It's interesting. My ranking of the series: Tamers, Xros Wars, Adventure, Savers, Frontier, Adventure 02, Hunters. I consider Hunters completely separate from Xros Wars because the series was a bit unnecessary. I absolutely don't like it because of how... rushed and plotless it felt. Plus, I find Tagiru to be the worst protagonist ever, compared to the other six.
Kingdom Hearts: I admit the story is a bit confusing for me (partly due to not having played the entire series myself) but the characters are so sad that I can't help feeling for them.
Gyakuten Saiban: Also known as the Ace Attorney series. Actually, I want to add Ghost Trick here too because both games are so similar story-wise. Something tragic in the past affects something in the present and it's up to the main character to uncover what and fix it. There's so many twists and the characters are just so likable.
Fruits Basket: Yeah, the first manga I ever read. All the trauma and stuff is just great fun for me.
Rockman: I play the Battle Network and Star Force series only, mainly because I'm no good at platformers, but I do enjoy all the Megaman games. The Star Force series weren't as good gameplay wise, but the story was just trauma-filled goodness.
Favorite Protagonists: It's a recurring theme that I usually like the character with the most scarring background...
Dia (Pokemon Special): Okay, so Dia doesn't fit in my recurring theme, but he's cute, funny, and adorable. But he has that selfish side to him that makes him more than just a happy kid.
Takaishi Takeru (Digimon Adventure 02): He's always been my favorite in Digimon. I especially like how he can go from happy-go-lucky Takeru to Don't-mess-with-what-I-care-about-most Takeru in a blink of an eye.
Ishida Yamato (Digimon Adventure): Such a heavy brother complex but I love Gabumon. His evolution line is my third favorite in the franchise.
Matsuda Takato (Digimon Tamers): Another character that doesn't really fit the scarred theme but he has that scary side to him. Plus, Dukemon is my second favorite evolution line.
Aonuma Kiriha (Digimon Xros Wars): Absolutely my most favorite General because of his dragon theme and cool personality. Yup, I'm totally for the "rival" characters in Digimon, but man, Kiriha is the coolest.
DORUmon (Digital Monster- X Evolution): My absolute favorite evolution line that ends on the amazing Alphamon Ouryuken. If I were a Tamer, this would have to be my partner.
Roxas (Kingdom Hearts): So yeah, I don't like Sora. Roxas strikes me as more interesting because he wasn't supposed to exist. All he wanted was to keep his friendship with Axel and Xion intact. Is that too much to ask?
Mitsurugi Reiji (Gyakuten Saiban): Also known as Miles Edgeworth or simply to me, Edgey. So much trauma to him that it's past the point of me feeling sorry for him. Instead, I feel great admiration and think him to be the most awesome prosecutor to have ever stepped into court. Seeking the truth is the only thing you can do, Edgey!
Akiyama Ryo (Digimon Wonderswan Games): I said the Digimon games sucked, but the Wonderswan ones are worth my time because it kinda links the first three series together. Plus, I like Ryo. He's cool, even if Ruki doesn't like admitting it.
Sohma Hatori (Fruits Basket): My favorite of the zodiacs, Hatori is someone I found intimidating at first. He really cares for others but he can't just put his own feelings first. He has responsibilities as a doctor, something I relate with since I want to be a surgeon myself.
Cyrus (Pokemon Special): I actually thought Cyrus to be just misunderstood. He wasn't evil like Maxie and Archie; he just wanted a world he could belong in. His character development just reinforced my love of Dia. Call me sadistic or whatever, but it was a bonus to see him smack Dia with the Red Chain.
Giovanni (Pokemon): In any form of Pokemon, Giovanni is always so badass. His return in the HGSS arc just makes it all the more awesome!
D-Reaper (Digimon Tamers): A deleting program that grew sentient? Man this thing was scary and it just kept growing too! Learning what the program was originally for and looking at all of the Digimon and humans living, it made me think about life in general. Takato was right though; nothing deserves to disappear.
Darkrai (Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of the Sky): An interesting Pokemon because after playing through Wigglytuff's special episode, I kinda truly believed that there's no one truly evil in the world. With Darkrai being defeated in the end and becoming recruitable later on, I feel that what Wigglytuff said was true. The more cynical and depressing part of me thinks "how boring" but another part of me thinks "It's nice though, isn't it? To be able believe in something so wholeheartedly and purely. It's nice."
Favorite Support/Minor Characters:
Blues.EXE (Megaman Battle Network): Also known as Protoman. He and Chaud are my favorite team. Plus, I prefer his cool style and blades over the Blue Bomber.
Hibiki Misora (Megaman Star Force): Also known as Sonia Strumm, Sonia Sky, Harp Note, or Lyra Note. I prefer to just call her Sonia Strumm and Harp Note. She's the Roll-equivalent in the Star Force series and is super cute. Her backstory also makes her a lot more appealing than Luna to me.
Hanajima Saki (Fruits Basket): I liked Hana a lot throughout the series. She's just so funny, but seeing her backstory about her powers made me reconsider her life. She's gifted and cursed at the same time...
BlackWarGreymon (Digimon Adventure 02): A Digimon that is not really a Digimon. I liked BlackWarGreymon's side story about him finding a purpose to live, despite him not having a real life. He should have just listened to Agumon and became friends. He actually reminds me of Mewtwo, Grani, and DORUmon...
Franziska Von Karma (Gyakuten Saiban): In Japan, known as Karuma Mei, but I like the sound of her English name better. She's strong-willed and ambitious, but she's often overshadowed by her father or Edgey. I mean, despite her strengths, she still has weaknesses.
OTPs: I actually normally prefer canon ships, but if its open-ended, there are only a few specific pairings I support, each with its own reasoning. I don't mind other ships, but keep in mind, I only go with what makes sense to me.
Commoner (DiaXPlatinum): Dia's a likable guy. Plus, he practically worships Platinum. If only she'd notice...
Takari (TakeruXHikari): To me, I don't think there will be anybody other than Hikari that Takeru would ever love. Hikari has a brother complex though so I don't think Daisuke can help her through that. Takeru is more understanding and patient in my opinion.
Entourage (PlatinumXDiaXPearl) Maybe one of my weirder ones, but I really think Dia keeps the entire group together. I can't really say Haughty because Pearl doesn't really seem like the type to settle down.
StarHeart (Misora/Harp NoteXSubaru/Shooting Star Rockman): Honestly, I dislike Luna's character because of how she pushes Subaru around a lot. I like Misora's background a lot more anyways. Plus, if Harp Note is Star Force's equivalent to Roll, wouldn't it make sense that she would end up with him or is at least extremely close to him?
SakiXKazuma: I don't care how 'creepy' it is. Saki is cool and deserves to be with someone she likes, even if it's Kyo's adopted father.
RoxasXXion: I know a lot of people don't like Xion, but I do as a character. As an NPC, she can die for all I care since she's not that useful. But in this manner of speaking, I like how she and Roxas can bond with each other despite not having hearts. I'm neutral towards Axel so can't imagine him with Roxas, but the trio of friends share such a sad story. Don't feel bad, Roxas. Well, it's not like you can, but still, the ending of 258/2 Days left my heart numb for about a week. If not, I can still see them as more siblings.
Kayworth (EdgeworthXKay): I don't really care for age differences, really. My limit though is probably 12 years apart, so the 9-10 year difference between Edgey and Kay doesn't bother me at all. Plus, Kay's contrasting personality despite similar background is good for Edgeworth. She compliments him as his assistant well.
HatoriXShiraki: My second favorite pairing in Fruits Basket and I like this one a lot. Hatori can be cold and distant sometimes but he deserves to be happy after everything he's been through. If only Akito didn't get in the way, he could have ended up with Kana. But Shiraki is a cool character. I like how even the homeroom teacher of Yuki, Kyo, and Tohru is connected to the Sohma family, albeit through the Mabudachi Trio. I like to think that Hatori gets his happy ending.
Taiora (TaichiXSora): I grew up on the English dub of Digimon Adventure and I know Sorato is canon, but their personalities don't quite match up for me. I know the director wanted them together because of their personalities and not their Crest traits, but Yamato and Sora really don't have too much in common with each other in my eyes.
Koumi (KoushiroXMimi): Mimi can end up with anyone, but I like pairing her with Koushiro because of their personalities. The only episode I can think of involving this pairing is in Adventures and even then, Koushiro is a dense blockhead.
RyoXRuki: The Digimon Queen needs a King and why not Ryo? Seriously, I think Ruki secretly likes his sparkling personality.
Kirine (KirihaXNene): The manipulative Twilight General and the power-hungry Blue Flare General... I love how they interact with each other and because of them, I actually read the Xros Wars manga to see Kiriha's "confession". Not so much a confession, but I still love them both. Eheh... Well, that and Taiki has Akari and Zenjirou is just... no. Annoying loud kendo guy...
Strengths in Writing: I'm a character-based person. If I can get into a character's head and mess with their emotions, I'm happy. I have trouble with my own emotions since I can't read myself well so looking at myself from a different perspective helps me a lot. I like being able to put myself into a character's shoes and going through their life with their views, hence why Takeru is one of my personal favorites. My plots are generally straight-forward which is why I'm really impressed with Pokemon Special because there are always twists along the way, and even if they aren't completely obvious, I like the disorientation. Actually plot is difficult for me because there is so much I want to say, but no way to say through action. Show-don't-tell style doesn't fit me. I guess the last strength I have is that once an idea is in my head, it sticks there and I think it out in as many ways possible. It's like a virus, but a good one, if such a thing exists.
Important News (Last updated 02/02/14):
DPM Special Adventure: Oh, crap, I haven't updated in, probably, I wanna say, a year? Or maybe two? No, definitely a year. Crap, crap, crap. The ideas are still there, but my priorities have been off thanks to the thing called college. I'm not even writing anymore and even when I do feel liked writing, I either want to write my own original stuff or expand on some new ideas I came up with. Mostly those ideas regard a Digimon multiverse in which I totally want to live in and another is the Pokespe universe, but in the future. I'm sorry! I'm sorry! I'm sorry! All my characters are disappointed but it can't be helped. I'll be back when I have my drive back, but until then, I'm sorry!
