Author has written 4 stories for Naruto.
9/19/2010- As of right now, everything I currently have up is on hiatus. I really am sorry, but I just don't have time to get "into" writing at this time. I have so much custom work that I have to do in my business that it is consuming most of my time, and the rest of it is helping my son with school, housework, and all that goes along with that. I hope to get some chapters up soon, but it's not looking good. I have half a chapter written for "Dichotomy of the Heart" and many ideas for the continuation of "Need", but just no time to get it down and work it out properly. I'm hoping after Christmas I can take a bunch of time in the slow winter months and complete all of my stories. Please, just know that they are NOT abandoned, and I will be continuing them as soon as the opportunity arises.
Thanks to all of you who enjoy my writing and have been hanging in there waiting for me to get on with it. I hope what I do for you next will be worth the wait for you!
I'm a weird housewife who has always loved anime. I think I started watching it when I was 3, and that was back in 1972, and I watched Speed Racer like it was a religion. These days, I can't stomach the thought of that show, but that's where it all started. Yah, I just gave away my advanced age and all of that, but you know, it's all good. I watched every anime I could find since then. I love the style, the art, and the uniqueness of Japanese culture that flows through most of the anime that I've seen over the years.
What really got me uber hooked, though was Naussica by Studio Ghibli. Some guy I was getting stoned with in college had a bootlegged copy on VHS, it was in raw Japanese with no subtitles and I was totally clueless then. But I watched that movie, loving every minute of it. It was such a gorgeous piece of art, I almost stole it from that guy. I love Hayao Miyazaki, what an awesome artist. I hope he never actually stops making movies, as he's threatened to do before. The man is pure magic.
Lately, I've been all about Naruto. I don't know what it is about that show, couldn't even begin to tell you what I even like about it, but I LOVE it. I started watching it last summer because I was bored in the evenings. I caught it on HULU, thinking it was some kid's crap like Poke'mon, but it turned out to be a lot deeper than that for me. I never watched it on the cartoon channels it's been distributed to, but I'm sure it's been reduced to a horrible bastardization of the original. For some reason, I guess I identify with a lot of the characters in Naruto, somewhat, maybe that's it. It's not like Kishimoto is the greatest story teller in the world, and sometimes he downright sucks. But, I like it just the same, strange as it is, and I'm afraid I'm hooked for the duration. Incidentally, my husband and our kid are hooked, too. It's a bizarre family thing. We carry the Narutard gene, I guess. ; )
Other anime I love are:
Cowboy Bebop (and really, who doesn't?)
Samurai Champloo (another obsession)
There's quite a few others, but you get the point.
So yah, not your typical 40 year old housewife, and that's ok with me. Everyone else I know thinks I'm a loon, but we all have our idiosyncrasies, right? Love me, love my anime!
I never wanted to write before, but I found this site, had an idea for a story a while back, and things haven't been the same since. I like dark, dramatic stories. I like people being torn apart and attempting to put themselves back together again. The complexity of the human condition and our relations to each other are interesting to me. Oh, and yah, I'm a girl, so I like the romance and all it's trappings as well.
So, anyway, that's my odd love of anime in a nutshell, if anyone was even slightly interested. Hope you like what I write.
