Author has written 2 stories for Metamorphoses, and Misc. Books.
As a college student occasionally involved in writing courses, I inevitably end up writing creative stories. I've been encouraged to post them somewhere as well as to submit them to international writing journals. I'm posting them here, but holding off on the international writing journal bit -- my writing only occurs when I have time, and as my major is in the sciences, I don't exactly have much time to pursue non-science subjects. I have always enjoyed writing fiction, though, so perhaps I'll add a few here on my own time.
Constructive criticism is welcomed, but flames are not. If you want to tell me that something is wrong, please tell me how you think I should fix it. :)
Stories Posted So Far:
-- "Continuous Cities. 6." -- This is a short story in the style of Italo Calvino's "Invisible Cities". It will make more sense if you have read the book, but if not, you can still understand what is going on. It might seem a little bit "trippy" (for lack of a better word), but so is his book.
-- "After Death" -- This is a romantic reimagining of Ovid's Orpheus legend. I highly recommend you read the legend behind my story; it can be found in Ovid's "Metamorphoses". If you don't want to read it (or find it online), read my author's note for a "legend in one paragraph" before reading the story. Otherwise, it won't make as much sense as it otherwise would.
What am I up to? I just finished taking my exams, so I am officially done with college for the next month or so. Perhaps I'll have time to write! If not, I am taking another writing course in the spring semester, so it's possible that I'll have a few more things to post here by the end of that semester.
As for things that I am working on in my own time... I am currently attempting to finish a novel that I started during NaNoWriMo 2009 and had to give up on due to my work load. It'll be a while before I finish that, and when I do, it will need to go through quite a lot of editing before it is officially done. I will post a link to it when that eventually happens -- it's not based on other works, so according to FanFiction.net's Terms of Service, I can't post it here. :(
