Author has written 1 story for Harry Potter.
I came late to the Harry Potter books -- 2005 -- but I enjoyed them so much that I read the first six in 20 days. After that I had to wait two years with all the other Potter fans for Deathly Hallows. My wife went to Barnes & Noble the morning before the release and got me #25, so that night I walked past hundreds of people and got into the first group of 50 inside the store. At 12:10 A.M. I got both the book and Jim Dale's CD audiobook. My wife prepared our meals for the weekend that Friday night and we spent the next two days listening to the fantastic conclusion of Rowling's epic tale.
In the fall of 2009 I began to contribute limericks to MyLeaky's Potterish Limericks groups and realized how stimulating creative writing could be. It occurred to me that Hermione would have had almost a year between getting her letter on her 11th birthday and actually going to Hogwarts. I decided to write a story, "A Witch Awakens", about that year. What amazed me about the process was how enjoyable it was to have idea after idea bubbling up in my mind. I hope to continue that enjoyment in writing future stories.
