Author has written 2 stories for Avatar. Writing has been my passion my whole life. I believe in canon - canon ships, characterisation, setting, and so try to stick to it when I write.Of course, fans opinions vary greatly on this front(and they're all positive that they're right!), so I can't please everyone. I have been an author on fanfiction.net for five years but have recently changed to this new account. My current passion is James Cameron's Avatar. I am also something of an artist. Not very good, I'll admit, but hopefully I will be able to post links to some Avatar fanart in future. Please take time to participate in my poll - it is crucial for my story Hybrid -and I'd love to see what the fans think! Hybrid Extended Author's Notes Chapter 5 -I hope I worked out all the information about the RDA ISV fleet okay. I do have some training in physics (enough to use the term “time dilation” and “according to the theory of relativity”), but I wasn’t going to sit around figuring out when each ship would receive the news from Pandora because –as was explained – it wouldn’t make much difference to the flight plan. I got my info from pandorapedia and Avatar: An Activist Survival Guide (the best book in the universe, I suggest you get one if you can afford £15, or AUD35 – no idea what that is in American or any other currency), and you can go to pandorapedia if you want to read their crackpot ideas about an engine that could actually reach 70 the speed of light ... all which hinges on the idea of a compound that doesn’t exist... but I like suspending belief. At least they tried without going, “wtf omg it’s a wormhole, okay? Okay?” Anyway, like them, I’m not going to bend the laws of physics. The speed of light is the highest speed possible – it’s the rest of the universe that does the funky chicken to accommodate, so that’s how fast they can ever hope to travel at. There is no such thing as “twice the speed of light”. Okay? No arguments. It’s just how it is. No Doctor Who here. He can stay safely floating around Earth trying to save us, but he ain’t messing with Pandora. Kapeesh? And the whole “superluminal” communications ... I do not like, but hey, who am I to deny the string-theorists their happiness? |
