So... my name is Dana Avery. I am wife to Robert (Rob) and mother to twin nineteen-month-old boys, James Daniel and John David. My husband and I are also raising my three nieces. My sister, Wendy, and her husband, David, died in a car crash five months before I delivered my boys. So now I am "mom" to my three special girls: Claire 9, Ellie 5, and Jenna 3. My husband and I went from a family of two, to a family of 5, then to a family of 7. I love every minute of it even though I miss my sister very much. My other sister, Jinsey, was recently diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma and the cancer has spread to her liver. Her outcome is not good but her spirit and her determination is unshakable! She is the mother of my newest niece, Annalise, who is 6 months :)
So, a little about me. I am a wife, mother, sister, daughter, x-ray tech, sunday school teacher, vbs teacher... you name it, I'm it :) My family has been through so much in just a few short years. We are all so much stronger for it. I absolutely LOVE m job as an x-ray tech. I work at a Leve I Trauma Unit Hospital, which basically means we see the worst of the worse. My nicname at work is "Bones" LOL!!! I have the best family EVER! My husband is a string Christian man, my sons are my precious miracles, and my girls are my blessings. My church means everything to me! My GOD is my everything! Without HIM I have nothing!
Rob and I met in HS. Yes, we are HS sweethearts :) He played HS and college football and then went into the army in 2001. He is now a trauma physician at the hospital I work at as well.
Claire McKinley is 9 and she is our compassionate, shy, over achiever! What a blessing that sweet girl is! She is so beautiful inside and out... Her momma and daddy would be so proud of the grown up girl she is. She's played softball the last 3 years and it so amazing at it! We are trying or hand at cheerleading this year, as well as gymnastics with the other two girls. Claire is my other little miracle. She was in the car with Wendy and David when they were hit by a drunk driver. She suffered a traumatic brain injury and was in a coma for 3 weeks. She had bleeding on the brain and it was very touch and go with her. She is doing wonderful now, PRAISE JESUS!
Ellie Brooklynn is 5 and she is our affectionate, competitive, boisterous little firecracker, She is my miss priss drama queen. Such a little diva! I love it! She is just like me when I was little and looks just like me, which is convenient since I looked just her mom. She is in gymnastics and is also cheering this year.
Jenna Kathryn is 3 and she is our spunky, strong willed, determined mini darling. She is a crack up!!! So funny and so witty! She and Ellie are so funny together. I swear I'm going to write a book one day called "Jenna-isms".
James Daniel and John David are nineteen-months old and are very special little boys. They are considered to be a very rare type of twins. Monoamniotic Monochorionic Twins (referred to as Mono Mono twins) occur in only about 1 in 250,000 pregnancies. Mono twins are actually the phase of twinning a day or two before conjoined twins. Mono twins share the same sac, same placenta and are not seperated by a membrane. Mono twins are given a 50% chance of surviving the pregnancy until early delivery at no later than 32 weeks. For Mono Mommies, they live each day not knowing if their babies will still be alive at their next prenatal visit. They live hopeful but guarded "just in case". Twin specialists diagnose about 6 cases a year and only 2 or 3 will make it. 75% of Mono twins conceived are girls. Mono twins are not hereditary nor due to fertility treatments. Mono twins are a very special blessing from God only. He chooses the twins and the families for them. We are so thankful He chose us.
I am one of the BIGGEST Bones fans ever and my husband makes fun of me for how much I love Booth and Brennan and want them together. I must say, I started out sort of liking Cam but when she became involved with Booth, I hated her... now she's one of my favs! Such a wise-cracker she is! And who else was swooning over Booth meeting Brennan in the airport in his army greens??? Oh be still my Booth-lovin' heart!
I adore Hallmark movies! And thank goodness Rob loves them too. Oh my army man! Lol...
