HONESTY BREEDS CLARITY!
For those of you who - somehow, in any small way - have become fans of my work as Danielle Zoe Carver (preferably Dani), I can't keep keeping this a secret. Dani is an alias I devised based off a girl I barely got to know when I was four years old. When I became interested in yaoi, I built up Dani as an imaginary friend and confidant to perform tasks I was too afraid to carry out myself and to enjoy things I couldn't let others know I supported. She was a character so alive in my mind she seemed to have one of her own, and though this feels like killing her in a way, it's not fair to her, you all, or me to keep her here as the martyr for my chronic tardiness. She served her role as my guardian well, and now I choose to retire her with dignity and keep her alive in future fanfictions as England's stubborn cousin and my OC's dearest friend, Antarctica.
My name is Yan. My OC is the lazily rebellious Yannis Karpusi, better known as Crete.
I wanted to inform you of the truth behind this account for two reasons. Firstly, I have finally given up caring what people think of the subject of my stories and that I am, indeed, the one writing them - and with the secret hope that those from whom I hid it might find it so that I may witness their distress and disapproval from a warm jacuzzi of spite. And secondly, I'd hoped that, by revealing my main account (YouTube user ILuvBoysInDresses) on which I have been quite busy, you would have an easier time understanding and, perhaps, forgiving my apparent incapability to update. Having two personae: easy. Having two agendas: less so.
I do intend to continue writing, and in the same style as Dani before me, including using British spelling over American as a token of gratitude and respect for her paving my way on this site.

I started out writing romance fanfiction with the thought that it would all be romantic and never just "sexy." Then, I realised that's impossible, unrealistic, and just plain boring. I hope that my stories clearly state that true romance is always the goal, but in my later work, getting to that goal has gotten a lot harder. Now, characters' lives are brutal, and some of the endings aren't even decisively happy (and I'm a sucker for triumphant/happy endings, so that's a big deal for me) but there will always be real love - whether lost, gained, or just borrowed for a while.
Unless, of course, I'm just doing a piece for fun!
Thank you for reading, and onward to fiction!
