11/10/2011: I am updating today for two ridiculous reasons:
(1) to admit that I am a prolific reader/reviewer (my traffic stats today state: "You have submitted a total of 2538 signed reviews" and " Total hits to Profile Page : 2,575") even though I have never written a story on here. I checked because I just received my 6th "favorite author" notification and I can only assume it's because I generally take my time to write thorough reviews. If you've read one of my significant reviews (and that's why you are on my profile page) and you are a reader like myself, think about how much time the AUTHOR actually took to write the chapter/story. Granted, there are some fics we abandon sometimes before the first chapter is over; however, the good ones that keep our interest? Those are the ones that we, as readers, should take the time to review. Even if it's just a thank you to the writer for their time. So, to all the writers who were a recipient of one of my reviews: I again say thank you. To those readers who appreciate the time I take to simply write a review: thank you. To the lurkers out there: take a few minutes to show your gratitude. You may just be the push an author needs to continue.
(2) to add INDIGO GIRLS to my music favorites! HOW did I leave them off?! I was reading a GLEE FF a few days ago, saw a reference to Indigo Girls, and thought, "OH, NO! I don't think I've given them the credit due on my profile page!!" So, that's fixed as of today.
06/25/2011: Congratulations to New Yorkers now that gay marriage is legal. Had to update just to say that.
12/18/2010: Congress Passes "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" Repeal. This is huge. If only my sister (Air Force) was alive to see this...She gave up a great career so she didn't have to live a lie. She'd be thrilled like I am!
08/04/2010: I wanted to update my profile today to say that U.S. District Court Chief Judge Vaughn Walker of California ROCKS. His ruling today striking down Prop 8 as unconstitutional was absolutely the correct ruling! Woo-hoo!
Now, back to my regular profile. . .
Finance/English college. (Admittedly too lazy to finish accounting.) Law degree. Lived in the South all my life, Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi and Arkansas. "Y'all" is part of my everyday language and I could have grits for breakfast every day - true Southern girl. Liberal. LOVE to read. Love to travel. Love to cook. Love sports. Love movies but otherwise rarely watch TV, with a few exceptions (Glee, Modern Family, Pretty Little Liars). Wish I was teaching English or history somewhere (geek!). Need more school for that. I am one of those people who could be a student for life. Hate that time is passing so fast - I still think of all of us - my friends and family - being young and reckless, but not so much any more. Miss it. Love the guitar. Wish I could play piano. Love fan fiction, particularly GLEE (focus on Faberry...Dianna Agron...whew!) and SoN. Really gets my mind off the daily grind.
Snow Patrol, Kings of Leon, Candlebox, Sass Jordan, Tina Dico, Sarah McLachlan, Ani DeFranco, Joss Stone, Adele, Colbie Caillat, Sara Bareillis, Michelle Branch, Maroon 5, Antigone Rising, Coldplay, Saving Jane! Dance around my kitchen to Katy Perry, Lady GaGa and Kesha. The first time I heard "Last Friday Night" by Katy Perry, I was laughing my ass off thinking back to my college days, with the exception of the reference to the ménage à trois... Adding Mumford & Sons to my list thanks to a recommendation months ago from my friend, ALittleLion.
Sometimes some throwback to the Eagles, Bon Jovi, Steve Miller Band, Bad Company, Erasure, Van Halen, Simon & Garfunkel, Madonna, Yaz, AC/DC, Prince, INDIGO GIRLS!!! ...
and on occasion, a bit of Brad Paisley, Tim McGraw, Garth Brooks, Clint Black, Faith Hill, Dixie Chicks, Rascal Flatts, Keith Urban. . . .
and on work days when I can't listen to words because I get distracted singing along, love classical.
I really like it all except heavy metal. Just doesn't do it for me.
