It is loyalty through good and bad times. It settles for less than perfection and makes allowances for human weaknesses.” ― Ann Landers Fellow Authors... Did you know? TIP #1 - Did you know you can edit your chapters/stories at any time without deleting the story, or the chapters? You just have to upload, or copy if you prefer, (if needing to recreate, or add) the chapter you want to replace into Doc Manager and save it (use an easily identifiable one, such as "Story Name - Chapter #", or if uploaded again, "Story Name - Edited Chapter #"). Then go to Manage Stories, select the story you are editing, Content/Chapters. Instead of posting a new chapter, click on Replace/Update Chapter, (A) select the existing chapter you wish to edit, (B) select the newly edited and saved chapter you wish to replace. Finally click on Replace Chapter Content with Document button to replace a chapter with the new/updated chapter. :D TIP #2 - Did you know you can keep chapters in your Doc Manager without them disappearing? All you need to do is go into each chapter listed in Doc Manager and save it once before the 90 days is over. WOW!!! :D Waterfall Beginnings News (story extras below): 3-30-13 - Based on the poll, this story will be continued, but not until I have it all written out. When I am finished, this will allow for regular updates. :D I have been trying to get a plot together for it because, honestly, I never really planned anything beyond the prompt I was given. I am gradually working on bits and pieces. Plus, I there are some real life issues I need to concentrate on, therefore, it will be slow going for now. I will not post anything until I have all the chapters written and most of them beta'd because I do not want to keep you waiting long periods between updates. Am I being a tease? Maybe, however, I wanted to let you know the current status. Thank you for your patience. 3-27-13 - Nominated "Best Bella/Carlisle" in The Non-Canon Awards. Thank you to whomever nominated me. I never thought I would, or expected to be nominated for any awards, so this is a VERY special honor to me. :D MWAH!! 4-15-13 - I did not win The Non-Canon Award, but I still am grateful to have received a nomination at all. I didn't expect to win because I was up against some well-known and well-read authors/stories. Thank you again! :D 10-24-13 - Nominated "Favorite Don't Let It End Fic" and "Favorite Variety Is the Spice of Life Fic" in the TwiFic Fandom Awards (by Category) (by Nominee)... Thank you to any that voted for WfB and to those that nominated this story. WOW! Just being nominated is enough to me. I appreciate it greatly. :D 12-20-13 - I did not win, but I truly appreciate the fact that someone likes my writing enough to nominate me. Thank you! :D 3-10-14 - Nominated "The Underfictionated" category in The Non-Canon Awards. Thank you to whomever nominated me. Every nomination is a VERY special to me. :D MWAH!!
We have this wonderful opportunity to let authors know we like their stories and what we like about them, but so few readers use it. I try to make sure I leave at least one review per story I read, even if it isn't until the final chapter. I encourage you to do the same. :D *6-28-12 - Fanfiction.net has taken away our rights as authors whether or not to allow anonymous reviews. Please read my position on this and how I intend to go forward with their change.* * I DO LOVE hearing your thoughts on my stories, but I also LOVE to connect with my readers. * I am no different than any other author. I truly love and appreciate the fact people read my stories. It gives me a thrill to know they favorite, or follow the story. However, it makes me ecstatic to hear from my readers when they review. Therefore, I would truly LOVE for you to you leave me a a respectful review (What is a respectful review? See the section below titled "PLEASE be respectful with your story reviews to ALL authors"). Please allow me the courtesy of logging into your FFn account to leave a review, or at the very least leave your Fanfiction profile name so I can PM (Private Message) you because I want to be able to contact all of my reviewers and THANK, or communicate with, them. If you see grammatical errors, or you have a major complaint about my stories, please send them to me in a PM (private message) instead so I can discuss it with you. If you see anything you think is incorrect, PLEASE PM me rather than putting editing comments into a review. PLEASE be respectful with your story reviews to ALL authors: There are so many unique stories out there and so few I do not like (haven't requested alerts). I truly do believe in letting authors have the freedom to write whatever their creative minds conjure up. That is what makes reading these fanfics so much fun!!! There are so many interesting and fun stories, and I have barely dug into them!!! So, PLEASE respect the authors when you write a review. Do NOT be cruel, insensitive, or overly negative. If you have something negative to say, say at least four (4) positive things about the story/chapter. The authors go to a lot of hard work to create their story. Authors, keep writing, don't take the not so positive reviews as all being negative... against your story, against you as a writer, or as flames. Sometimes the reviewer is just trying to be helpful, informative, possibly even insightful, and maybe giving/showing you something you may not have thought of that the reader isn't understanding or would like to gain more information about with your story. After all, you know your story better than anyone, right? FINALLY... I appreciate the authors who respond to their reviewers after begging for reviews more than those who beg for reviews and do not respond at all to their reviewers. Sure some of you do a mass thank you, appreciation in some of your Author's Notes, which is just okay, but it is much nicer to receive a direct & personal response to the reviews. This lets your readers know you really do appreciate their reviewing. There are some who have thousands of reviews and take the time to respond to their reviewers. It encourages the readers to review more when they know an author generally cares enough to respond to you as their reviewer. If you don't know how, ask someone... I'm sure you will find someone willing to help! It is not just about the number of reviews you receive... it is also about appreciating your audience. :D The Garbage Truck... One day I hopped in a taxi and we took off for the airport. We were driving in the right lane when suddenly a black car jumped out of a parking space right in front of us. My taxi driver slammed on his brakes, skidded, and missed the other car by just inches! The driver of the other car whipped his head around and started yelling at us. My taxi driver just smiled and waved at the guy. I mean, he was really friendly. So I asked, 'Why did you just do that? This guy almost ruined your car and sent us to the hospital!' This is when my taxi driver taught me what I now call, 'The Law of the Garbage Truck.' He explained that many people are like garbage trucks. They run around full of garbage, full of frustration, full of anger, and full of disappointment. As their garbage piles up, they need a place to dump it and sometimes they'll dump it on you. Don't take it personally. Just smile, wave, wish them well, and move on. Don't take their garbage and spread it to other people at work, at home, or on the streets. The bottom line is that successful people do not let garbage trucks take over their day. Life's too short to wake up in the morning with regrets, so LOVE the people who treat you right. Pray for the ones who don't. Life is ten percent what you make it and ninety percent how you take it! " About Story Types " Let authors be creative. Let the readers enjoy each author's creativity. We all have a choice, if you do not wish to read what an author puts out there, don't read it. It doesn't mean that everyone shares your opinion on a story you are not interested in. If it is something you don't like, DON'T READ IT!!! Go to http:///2/stop-cyber-bullying-in-the-fandom to petition. Those of you who believe you are doing what is "right", have you ever asked yourself why some authors write what they do? Have you ever considered that MAYBE the author has no other way to get through something painful because they have been instilled with fear and don't know any other way to overcome their situation? Those of you doing what you believe is "right", think about this...YOU opened up and began reading a story under the appropriate rating knowing full well what you could find. YOU read the story or stories. YOU are making yourselves judge and jury. YOU are playing the role of God. Does this make YOU feel better about yourself? If so, I'm sorry you feel this way. There are others out here who do not feel the way you do and only want to enjoy a creative story or get a better understanding of other life struggles. So stop leaving your hateful reviews and STOP reading a story YOU find offensive so the remainder of the readers can enjoy the story or stories authors write. And remember, YOU don't know the whole story, or should I say what's behind the story! So please think about that the next time you want to leave a hateful review! |
