Update 5/4/12: May the fourth be with you! I'm having trouble getting back into Only Fools Rush In and the AoP series. So I started a Shassie Psychfic. I know. I know. But hopefully this will appease the muses. I need to start getting back to writing about something other than cupcakes (oh-so subtle hint to check out my baking blog)
Hey, so I was bored and decided since I was in love with reading fanfictions, I would write one. Don't expect any sort of reliability with my postings since I am a notorious procrastinator and I lead a fairly busy life. You might get a new chapter the day after one was posted, or months later. I can guarantee nothing except I will try. (That was the slogan of my brother's college. Fun fact!)
I'm a 23 year old receptionist with an entirely useless degree in psychology and a passion for cupcakes.
The penname doesn't mean anything, it was just the first thing that came to mind when the sign up form said penname, but I'm kind of really feeling it. Aren't you?
I'm a slashy fangirl and am especially fond of Snarry (I dunno why, they're just so good together), but mpreg grosses me out.
I absolutely adore Vampire Weekend. They are an awesome band. Listen to them!
I also feel the urge to mention that I'm a chick. I feel it should be obvious, but then I remember that this is the internet and you have no idea who I am. I'm also a Jersey girl, born and raised and proud of it.
"If you're in love with a Jersey girl, raise your glass. If not, raise your standards." I didn't make it up, my cousin has a bumper sticker that says it, and I whole-heartedly agree.
Some favorite series:
Anime: Bleach, Ranma, Inuyasha, Fullmetal Alchemist, Fushigi Yuugi, Fruitsbasket
TV: Stargate (SG-1 and SGA, but not too fond of SGU), Chuck, NCIS, Castle, Dollhouse, Glee, Psych, Sanctuary
Books: Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, the Maximum Ride books, Kelly Link's short stories, the Hyperion Cantos, Ilium and Olympos, the Watch books by Sergei Lukyanenko, The Vampire Chronicles by Anne Rice (j'adore le vampire Lestat), pretty much any intellectually stimulating scifi/fantasy novels.
These are hardly comprehensive lists. Expect changes as I go "ooo, I really liked that." Or "eh, I'm totally over it."
Thanks and enjoy!
I just finished reading the If you are Prepared series by Cybele which was absolutely lovely and one of the best I think I've ever read. If you want to check it out, it can be found here.
I have to warn you though, have a hanky ready. It gets major heavy. Rated R for the first story and NC-17 for the second and third.
A must read for all Snarry writers or fans is Screwing Canon by RaeWhit. It's beautiful and hysterical and again, a total must-read for us Snarry fangirls. Or really, fans of any slash pairings in the HP universe. Or any universe. Okay, it's a must-read for any slash fans.
For any of you that, like me, thought Severus deserved a much better send-off than he got in cannon, you have to read Rosemary by Annie Talbot. It's short and so very bittersweet, but an absolutely lovely little piece. Just keep the Kleenex on stand by, all right? (Cannon Compliant)
Things I'm Not Allowed to do at Hogwarts: (a few of my faves. I found the list here)
2. No matter how good a fake Australian accent I can do, I will not imitate Steve Irwin during Care of Magical Creatures class
101 Signs You Might be Evil (I highly suggest reading the entire list which can be found here )
10. You laugh at the "comedy" of Jeff Dunham
