I like good manga and animes these days are to simple. Old manga like Dragon Ball, Inuyasha, Yu Yu Hakusho were not just for sex appeal and fan service. I guess you could put Fullmetal Alchemist in this category too .They didn't have girls with huge boobs. You could like the female characters for their personality and style, not for "Holy shit she has big boobs!" Nowadays all you see in manga and anime are huge boobed girls and the classical really sexual attractive airhead. Now I am not saying manga these days are ruined because of that, I'm just saying you can't really like female characters character and personality wise that much anymore.
I want to tell you guys how I begin a chapter of my stories. When I am scrolling down through stories on this site, I read what catches my eye. When I found none that catch my eye, I think "God, I might as well add a new chapter to my story to save someone else who as the same taste as me from bordom." That is how I do it. It may be a crappy way, but I still update. I also update whenever I am inspired by something, anything.
Allow me to tell you my views on typical shounen manga anime. The ones that fall under this category are: Naruto, Bleach, Fairy Tail, maybe One Piece. These are types where they do they do things because they are the good guy, even though it is very unrealistic in a certain situation. Naruto loves his village, even though they hated his guts from the day he was born. Ichigo told Ulquiorra to cut off his arm and leg just because he beat him using his hollow form, and he was serious about it. Luffy...I can't think of one. Natsu...can't think of one either. Now lets get to the reasons of Naivety.
How can Naruto be so carefree and naive when he is surronded by hatred, mostly likely being cursed at, and had to struggle through life? He lives in a a village, the strongest village, filled with ninja who kill people. With out any parental guidence, he would be bound to pick up on things like cursing, retaliation, survival instinct, etc. Kids who are blocked from bad things will be a little naive on life. Kids who live through it from the day they are born, they won't be care free and naive. I know in the manga he didn't undergo beatings and stuff, but the still neglectance and hatred is just as bad. The way he is portrayed after all this is very unrealistic and typical shounen.
Ichigo isn't really naive, but to moral like for a high schooler. Who the hell lets someone cut off his arm and leg just because you lost control of yourself and did that to to your opponent?
Luffy is understandable. He lived with in a poor and small location with very little interaction with the outside world. He raised away from the corruption of society in a small house with only 2 friends and a caretaker. Plus he does what needs to be done. Although he hasn't killed anyone yet, when he think he does he just says "So you aren't dead, huh?"
Natsu was raised by a dragon for 7 years (I think) by himself with absolutely no interaction with outside world and corruption of society.
