Author has written 2 stories for Moonlight. I was a late-coming fan to Moonlight, sadly, discovering the show in repeats on SyFy...well after its untimely cancellation. I met and developed friendships with several like-minded fans - most of whom came to the show after it was canceled. We were all starved for more, just like so many fans... Although I have been an avid reader and dabbler in creative writing my whole life, this is my first full project in fanfiction. While I never got up the courage to post them, I did complete a few entries for the show Jericho, which I also loved - and which cBS also canceled. My 4 writing partners and I set out originally to write a short story, picking up where the series left off. Through many, many late night chats, tons of research, and re-watches of the series, that idea grew into a full-length novel. Life, death, cancer, near-divorces, job changes...all created challenges as you can imagine. We finished Book One, with partial chapters only posted here - not because we had anything against this site, but because we were trying to do some different things to enhance the experience that couldn't be done here, like embed music links in the chapters & insert images. Our chapters are also more like those of full-length novels, running 25-35 pages, something this site doesn't handle terribly well. We published partial chapters here, with the full chapters on another site. We were able to finish Book One and started on Book Two, of three planned, but life then intervened and our group broke apart. Recently, I started re-reading what had been written and re-watching the single season that was made. Both held up surprisingly well. Since I was the main writer for what we created, I decided to edit what we had done and publish full chapters here. It could very well be that I'm the only person who ever reads them after this many years, but that's OK. Because it has always been all about the story and these characters. And I want to finish what we started. If you fans are still out there & reading, give me a shout. I'd love to hear from you. |
