Author has written 27 stories for Merlin, and Sherlock.
Hey everyone! Thanks for dropping in to check out my profile. I do try and keep this up to date but the last time I edited it was 19 February 2014.
Anyway, I’m Kiz, accountant by day and aspiring authoress by night. As well as the fan fiction I'm working on three original novels, so my updating can be sporadic.
If you want to find me anywhere else on the web, myis the best place if you want to chat about anything at all. I also crosspost to as well as having twitter ( ) and a Tumblr ( )
You may remember me writing in the Merlin fandom a few years ago. Well, I'm not in that fandom now (see the bottom of my profile if you really want to know why) but I'm still writing - only now it's BBC Sherlock.
My fic list has grown a lot in the last six months and I currently have two WIPs on the go:
"As Nature Intended" is planned to be nine chapters. There is a full plan and I promise it will be finished but I won't be posting any more chapters till April/May 2014 at the earliest.
"Racing Against The Clock" is planned to be five chapters - two are up. This will be picked up once I've finished dealing with my S3 feels and got "As Nature Intended" finished.
One of my fics, called "Hunting for Distractions" isn't posted on here, because it involves pictures embedded in the text, which you can do on AO3 but not on here. If you'd like to read it (it's Sherlock and John, you can read their relationship anyway you like because I've tried to write it just like you see it in the show, and could also be known as the one where John plays at being the Easter Bunny) you can find it.
I have a Post-Reichenbach novel length fic on my hard drive that may, if I get round to finishing it, see the light of day on here. I'm not sure when, though, so I have absolutely no idea why I just told you about it!
There is also a rough draft of a Post-S3 novel length fic tentitively titled "East Wind Coming" that I'm planning on starting to post in the Summer, once I've got my other WIP's finished.
I also have a two series on the go:
The first is called "Death Cab for Cutie" - each fic in the series will be standalone, have the title of a DCfC song (but will not be a song fic) and establish a story arc that leads to eventual Johnlock. A full explanation can be found a bit lower down. At the moment there are two fics in the series. I have plans for about ten to twenty more. Again, they will be written as and when my muse is co-operative.
The second is called "Shezza's Sick Slopestyle" and will contain the prequels and missing scenes from "Backside Rodeo", the fic I'm currently posting for the Sherlock Biennial Sports Challenge, a Johnlock AU where Sherlock is a pro-snowboarder on the slopestyle circuit, in an openly gay relationship with John, who is his personal trainer, and about to try to win gold at Sochi for Team GB.
As well as writing my own stuff I'm Brad'spyjamas beta for all her Sherlock fics and I'm co-writing Unintended Consequences with her, which is posted on her profile. Please note, that fic is currently on hiatus as it's her baby and she is overwhelmed with RL stuff at the moment. I've also been working with her on some Little things prequels and sequels and am loving playing in her world.

The reason I signed up for the Sherlock Biennial Sports Challenge and started writing "Backside Rodeo" is down to my support of LGBT rights and my fury over Russia's anti-gay laws. I firmly support the Principle 6 protest that All Out, Atheletes Ally and American Apparel are running.
In respect of the Death Cab for Cutie Series, the explanation for how it came about is thus:
I’m absolutely certain it isn’t just me who finds links between Sherlock and other, seemingly disparate, elements of their lives, fandom or otherwise. And I’m certainly not the first person to link the fall to “I will follow you into the dark” (I couldn’t listen to it for weeks afterwards without tearing up) but that link was like the tiny snowflake which starts an avalanche of epic proportions. Suddenly almost every Cutie song made me want to write Sherlock fic; song titles or lyrics pushing Sherlockian images into my mind or generating plots based on a few words or feelings.
My NaNoWriMo 2012 started out as a reunion fic round the schematic of the “Plans” album - I’d hoped it might get the urge out of my system - but that was not to be; plot just kept happening and now only the title remains “Cutiefied”.
So I’m doing this instead; a series of ficlets each with a Cutie song title and containing at least one line from the song itself – not song fics but influenced by the songs nonetheless. They’ll form, eventually, a cohesive story round the episodes and beyond but they probably won’t, initially, be posted in order.
Plus, you have to admit, “Death Cab for Cutie” would’ve made a great alternate title for “A Study in Pink” on John’s blog.
And yes, that was a 221B!
If you want to read them in order, "A Lack of Color" comes before "A Movie Script Ending" - in fact they are probably the first and last fics in the series. No I don't know why my mind works like that!
The Ben Anderson video I mention in the notes of "A Lack of Color" can be found.
The list of Afghanistan/British Army books, DVDs I mention in the notes to "A Lack of Color" can be found on my blog "Fighting John Watson's War".
Re "A Movie Script Ending", if you want an idea of what British Army dogtags look like you can see them. And yes, these are mine. My other half got them made for me by the firm that supplies the Army and they are exactly like those currently issued to our troops. I was quite amused by the “ID” number he chose for me (not to mention quite impressed that he knew my blood type) and they were, as you’ve probably guessed, the catalyst for the fic.
Explanation for leaving the world of Merlin fan fiction.
I used to be Merlin fan fiction writer, as evidenced by the three Merlin stories which remain below. Used being the operative word in that sentence as I'm stepping away from the fandom for a while.
I really did intend to finish This is the Beginning and a part of me still hopes that I will but I'm afraid that, for the moment, it's not possible.
For one thing, I've fallen out of love with the series itself - Season 4 being the main culprit. I was so disappointed with it. Don't get me wrong, the acting was superb, as was the cinematography and how each episode was directed but the scripts, storylines and character development! Well lets just say I can't comment without using words I really shouldn't.
However the main reason I'm leaving and that I haven't updated TiTB is that I've been getting vicious and sustained abuse via email and private messaging regarding the story. Hate for what I have and haven't included in it and where it might be going as well as abuse because I haven't updated it for a long time and some personal attacks that I have no idea what I've done to deserve.
I know I should just rise about it and ignore it - and for the most part I have - but it's tainted the story, removed all the joy I had in writing it and I'm just not willing to put myself in the line of fire any more.
So, apologies to all the wonderfully kind and lovely people who clicked follow, favourite or wrote me a review. I've not taken it down because I'm really hoping that it I leave it for a while my current feelings about it will fade and I'll find the joy and start to post again. However there is no promise any more because life is just too short to do things that make you miserable.
