Current book obsession: Requiem by Lauren Oliver (I've been rereading the whole Delirium series again, and loving it)
A twenty-something graduate from Uni with a degree in History and doing a Creative Writing MA
Writing - duh.
Flying - not particularly afraid of it, but as a child was terribly travel sick and even though it isn't a problem anymore I still don't enjoy it.
Ships I will gracefully (or not so gracefully) go down with:
Damon and Elena (Vampire Diaries)
I have more, but these are the ones I passionately love and could talk about for hours.
My Sister's Keeper by Jodi Picoult
The Girl with the Pearl Earring by Tracy Chevalier
What I Write:
I mainly write one-shots since I never have the time or attention span to write more. Sometimes I will write multi-chapter stories, but since I did this when I first joined and didn't complete them I now want to write the entire story first before publishing it so I know I won't disappoint people.
(finally, a place to put all the amazing quotes I find)
"Here's to the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels. The troublemakers. The round pegs in the square holes. The ones who see things differently. They're not fond of rules. And they have no respect for the status quo. You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify and vilify them. About the only thing you can't do is ignore them. Because they change things. They push the human race forward. And while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see geniuses. Because the people who are crazy enough to think they are change the world, are the ones that do." - Apple Inc.
"Do you think people have noticed that I'm around?"
"Fiction gives us a second chance that life denies us." - Paul Theroux
"That's when I realised that certain moments go on forever. Even after they're over they still go on, even after you're dead and buried, those moments are lasting still, backward and forward, on into infinity. They are everything and everywhere all at once. They are the meaning." - Lauren Oliver, Before I Fall
"There are only two worlds: your world, which is the real world, and others worlds, the fantasy. Worlds like this are worlds of the human imagination: their reality, or lack of reality, is not important. What is important is that they are there. There worlds provide an alternative. Provide any escape. Provide a threat. Provide a dream, and power; provide refuge and pain. They give YOUR world meaning. They do not exist; and thus they are all that matters." - Neil Gaiman
"There is no greater agony than bearing an untold story inside you." - Maya Angelou
"Sometimes people are beautiful. Not in looks. Not in what they say. Just in what they are." - Markus Zusak
"'I'm going to go for Lady Macbeth,' I tell them, 'and worst still I've decided my audition piece will be the one where she says, "Unsex me now", which is going to be hard in front of a bunch of morons.'
"Life will break you. Nobody can protect you from that, and living alone won't either, for solitude will also break you with its yearning. You have to love. You have to feel. It is the reason you are here on earth. You are here to risk your heart. You are here to be swallowed up. And when it happens that you are broken, or betrayed, or left, or hurt, or death brushes near, let yourself sit by an apple tree and listen to the apples falling all around you in heaps, wasting their sweetness. Tell yourself you tasted as many as you could." - Louise Erdrich
"Be yourself; everyone else is already taken." - Oscar Wilde
"'The secret is,' I say, whispering right into his ear, 'that yours was the best kiss I've ever had in my life.'
"Everybody has a secret world inside of them. I mean everybody. All of the people in the whole world, I mean everybody - no matter how dull and boring they are on the outside. Inside them they've all got unimaginable, magnificent, wonderful, stupid, amazing worlds... Not just one world. Hundreds of them. Thousands, maybe." - Neil Gaiman, The Sandman, Vol. 5: A Game of You
"It's like geographical humour. You just don't get it unless you were there." - Melina Marchetta, Saving Francesca
"You know you're in love when you can't fall asleep because reality is finally better than your dreams." - Dr. Seuss
"Darkness cannot drive out darkness: only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate: only love can do that." - Martin Luther King Jr.
"I think of all the thousands of billions of steps and missteps and chances and coincidences that have brought me here. Brought you here, and it feels like the biggest miracle in the world." - Lauren Oliver, Before I Fall
"A good library will never be too neat, or too dusty, because somebody will always be in it, taking books off the shelves and staying up late reading them." - Lemony Snicket, Horseradish
"But it was definitely a car trailing me and quickly I prepared myself for a great dash. I began quickening my step and when it stopped alongside me I could stand it no longer.
"A library is infinity under a roof." - Gail Carson Levine
"It was books that made me feel that perhaps I was not completely alone. They could be honest with me, and I with them." - Cassandra Clare, Clockwork Prince
"The bottom line is that we never fall for the people we're supposed to." - Jodi Picoult, My Sister's Keeper
"People with lost personalities will suffer a great deal more than those with lost virginities." - Melina Marchetta, Saving Francesca
"You can't be happy unless you're unhappy sometimes." - Lauren Oliver, Delirium
"If you're going through hell, keep going." - Winston Churchill
"I am enough of an artist to draw freely upon my imagination. Imagination is more important that knowledge. Knowledge is limited. Imagination encircles the world." - Albert Einstein
"Fairy tales are more than true: not because they tell us that dragons exist, but because they tell us that dragons can be beaten." - Neil Gaiman
"It is never too late to be what you might have been." - George Eliot
"To be that smart means you know all the answers and when you know all the answers there's no room for dreaming." - Melina Marchetta, Looking for Alibrandi
"To the well-organised mind, death is but the next great adventure." - J.K. Rowling
"...in that moment I realise how much I love the little everyday routines of my life...the details that are my life's special pattern, like how in handwoven rugs what really makes them unique are the tiny flaws in the stitching, little gaps and jumps and stutters that can never be reproduced... So many things become beautiful when you really look." - Lauren Oliver, Before I Fall
"Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts." - Winston Churchill
"I wish I were a girl again, half-savage and hardy, and free." - Emily Bronte, Wuthering Heights
"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, 'Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?' Actually, who are you not to be? ... Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine... We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within is. It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others." - Marianne Williamson
"Libraries were full of ideas - perhaps the most dangerous and powerful of all weapons." - Sarah J. Maas, Throne of Glass
"It is often in the darkest skies that we see the brightest stars." - Richard Evans
"When you play a game of thrones you win or you die." - George R.R. Martin, A Game of Thrones
"There's nothing like deep breathes after laughing that hard. Nothing in the world like a sora stomach for the right reasons." - Stephen Chbosky, The Perks of Being a Wallflower
"I'm gone, lost... - like soaring, like being totally free, and I can feel the impression of his fingers everywhere that they touch, and I think of stars streaking through the sky and leaving burning trails behind them, and in that moment - however long it lasts, seconds, minutes, days - while he's saying my name into my mouth and I'm breathing into his, I realise this, right here, is the first and only time I've ever been kissing in my life." - Lauren Oliver, Before I Fall
"Just ask how I'm feeling, I want to say. Just ask and I may tell you. But no one does." - Melina Marchetta, Saving Francesca
"He's not perfect. You aren't either, and the two of you will never be perfect. But if he can make you laugh at least once, causes you to think twice, and if he admits to being human and making mistakes, hold onto him and give him the most you can. He isn't going to quote poetry, he's not thinking about you every moment, but he will give you a part of him that he knows you could break. Don't hurt him, don't change him, and don't expect for more than he can give. Don't analyse. Smile when he makes you happy, yell when he makes you mad, and miss him when he's not there. Love hard when there is love to be had. Because perfect guys don't exist, but there's always one guy that is perfect for you." - Bob Marley
"A hundred plus years, and there's only one I've ever been sure of. You. ... I'm not asking you for anything. When I say I love you, it's not because I want you, or because I can't have you. It has nothing to do with me. I love what you are, what you do, how you try. I've seen your kindness and your strength, I've seen the best and the worst of you, and I understand with perfect clarity exactly what you are. You're a hell of a woman." - Spike, Buffy
"Happiness is not something ready made. It comes from your own actions." - Dalai Lama XIV
"First they ignore you, then they ridicule you, then they fight you, and then you win." - Mahatma Gandhi
"When I was five years old, my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down 'happy'. They told me I didn't understand the assignment, and I told them they didn't understand life." - John Lennon
"Success is liking yourself, liking what you do, and liking how you do it." - Maya Angelou
"Have you ever been in love? Horrible isn't it? It makes you so vulnerable. It opens your chest and it opens up your heart and it means that someone can get inside you and mess you up. You build up all these defences, you build up a whole suit of armor, so that nothing can hurt you, then one stupid person, no different from any other stupid person, wanders into your stupid life... You give them a piece of you. They didn't ask for it. They did something dumb one day, like kiss you or smile at you, and then your life isn't your own anymore. Love takes hostages. It gets inside you. It eats you out and leaves you crying in the darkness, so simple a phrase like 'maybe we should just be friends' turns into a glass splinter working its way into your heart. It hurts. Not just in the imagination. Not just in the mind. It's a soul-hurt, a real gets-inside-you-and-rips-you-apart pain. I hate love." - Neil Gaiman, The Sandman, Vol. 9: The Kindly Ones
"You can talk with someone for years, everyday, and still, it won't mean as much as what you can have when you sit in front of someone, not saying a word, yet you feel that person with your heart, you feel like you have known the person for forever...connections are made with the heart, not the tongue." - C. JoyBell
"What I need is the dandelion in the spring. The bright yellow that means rebirth instead of destruction. The promise that life can go on, no matter how bad our losses. That it can be good again." - Suzanne Collins, The Hunger Games: Mockingjay
"I think I'm a bit in love with these girls. They make me feel giddy. Like I haven't a care in the world. Like I'm fearless. Like I used to be." - Melina Marchetta, Saving Francesca
"I don't believe in the kind of magic in my books. But I do believe something very magical can happen when you read a good book." - J.K. Rowling
"...I'm at a crossroads right now where, I could go and live my life the way I probably should: be successful and safe and probably very happy. Or I could risk all that for this tiny little glimmer of a feeling inside I just can't shake." - Elena Gilbert, The Vampire Diaries 6x08 "Fade Into You"
"Once you have tasted flight, you will forever walk the earth with your eyes turned skyward, for there you have been, and there you will always long to return." - Leonardo da Vinci
"Becoming fearless isn't the point. That's impossible. It's learning how to control your fear, and how to be free from it." - Veronica Roth, Divergent
"Let me tell you this: if you meet a loner, no matter what they tell you, it's not because they enjoy solitude. It's because they have tried to blend into the world before, and people continue to disappoint them." - Jodi Picoult, My Sister's Keeper
"We dream to give ourselves hope. To stop dreaming - well, that's like saying you can never change your fate." - Amy Tan, The Hundred Secrets Senses
"When I grow up, I'm going to be my mother." - Melina Marchetta, Saving Francesca
"What I say is, a town isn't a town without a bookstore. It may call itself a town, but unless it's got a bookstore it knows it's not fooling a soul." - Neil Gaiman, American Gods
"And suddenly it's all so ridiculously and stupidly clear I feel like laughing. This is what I want. This is the only thing I've ever wanted. Everything else - every single second of every single day that has come before this very moment, this kiss - has meant nothing." - Lauren Oliver, Delirium

You already own The 100 series 1 on DVD
If you suffer from any of the above please contact your doctor immediately for help and rehab. However, for many it may be too late. If that is the case, copy this into your profile and read more Bellarke fanfic in order to feed the fever.
I am the girl ... that doesn't go to school dances, and when I do go, I sit in a corner and read a book. I am the girl that people look through when I say something. I am the girl that spends most of her free time reading, writing, or doing other activities that most teenagers wouldn't call normal. I am the girl that people call weird, and a freak either behind my back or to my face. I am the girl that doesn't spend all her time on My Space, or talking to a girlfriend on a cellphone or a regular phone. I am the girl that hasn't been asked out in a year. I am the girl that has stopped to smell the flowers and jump and splash in the rain.
But I am also the girl who knows and is proud to be who she is, doesn't care if people call her weird, who loves reading and writing and doing the things that no one seems to have the time to do any more, who can express herself better with words, and knows the importance of the little things.
