Hey so it's me Ellie!
Newly 15!!, a lady, and currently living in Baltimore, MD
Warning: I'm HP obsessed. And if you ask me what "HP" stands for I will rip off your head, stew it, eat it, and then throw it up and eat it again so it's thoroughly digested.
My fave ships: Draco/Ginny, Blaise/Ginny, Rose/Scorpius ('cuz D/G can never be... except here on FF, of course) James/Lily and I really like Luna, can't seem to figure out who she'd be good with... ooooooh and I especially love a good ol' Harry/Hermione perhaps with a bit of Ron thrown in for good measure. I kind of am thinking Luna/Neville? I think that would be cute. Maybe I'll post about that on the DG Forum, of which I am an active member. points chin high in the air Check it out if you lurrrrrve Draco/Ginny and/or like talking to some pretty fun writers.
My least fave ships: Draco/Hermione (NEVER in a MILLION YEARS), Harry/Ginny (makes me wanna vomit it's so sweet), Draco/Astoria (ok, I guess this is actually pretty plausible, but really, how boring.)
Ellie's Dabblings in the Draco/Ginny Ship!
The pairing of Draco and Ginny is a striking one. Their relationship is one most peculiar, you see, and one that a large amount of people overlook as one that could ever work. A Malfoy with a Weasley? That's absurd! You may think. Has this writer been snorting Floo powder, for she seems crazy enough! But no, all kidding aside, there are reasons that the unlikely couple can work. Reasons you can't explain until you've explored the ship, you see. Draco and Ginny work because, simply, they are the Romeo and Juliet of the Harry Potter series, and so of course they work. They don't even have to kill themselves or anything, too, which is a major plus, in my opinion.
I first got into Draco/Ginny a while back, though I'm not entirely sure when. Months ago, at the least. I didn't originally start on FFN, you see. I first discovered fanfiction through a "little" site I like to call Mugglenet. I didn't begin with DG, though. I mainly read James/Lily and Severus/Lily. Eventually, I stumbled upon Draco/Ginny and discovered it was actually rather delicious. There, the story that totally hooked me on DG was A Suitable Young Man by BluePhoenix, if I remember correctly. That was and is one of my favorite fics. Earlier this year (I'd say last October, actually) a friend told me about FFN so I looked through it one day and found there were MANY delicious DG stories. The first well written one I remember reading here was Lollipops, by complicatedness. You can find it in my favorites, as well as Naked Moon by Boogum, another of the first really good DG I read here on FFN.
For me, the best Draco/Ginny story should have Ginny fall for Draco first, or at least be the first to admit her feelings. It's more realistic and I think Draco would be very amused by how Ginny either tries to hide her feelings, tries to make her fall for him, or, the classic, argues with him in that flirty sort of manner that should always end with a nice kiss. Ginny is attracted to the bad boy types, I think, and Draco is attracted to the bad girl in Ginny, as well as her appearance of innocence. I like my Draco best served with a sexy smirk, witty sarcasm, and blond hair you would want to get some "hair action" with (to quote the Axe commercial I saw the other day). Ginny's best with a feisty attitude, quirkiness and perhaps a laugh that's a little too loud for the library. The two balance each other. Ginny, with her fiery temper and sometimes tom-boyish behavior is a loving, passionate girl who is very loyal to her family and beliefs. Draco, on the other hand, has a cold, snooty demeanor and is somewhat materialistic, though he too is loyal to his family, even if he disagrees with their actions, as I imagine he does. Ginny brings Draco down to earth, while Draco amuses her with his arrogance. I imagine Ginny also likes the idea that she's able to melt Draco.
There are some clichés that are to be avoided in the DG universe, though. Among them would be the semi-popular storyline: Ginny, most often to get revenge on Harry or to erase her good girl image, decides to dress quite sluttily, gain the attitude of a stereotypical self-centered cheerleader, and thus attracts the attention to one who is often referred to in such a story as the "Slytherin Sex God." These stories are just very out of character, as Ginny would have more self confidence to not get revenge on Harry and Draco wouldn't fall for the Weasley girl just because she decide to where a micromini. That’s the main overused plot I’ve seen that doesn’t particularly rub me the right way.
Draco and Ginny are a couple that are not to be reckoned with. One can only assume Draco would be quite protective over his ruby red Gryffindor, and Ginny would have no problems Bat-Bogey-ing you if you were to eye Draco for a little too long. They have a twisted sort of harmony that works well with them. To use that overused phrase, opposites attract! And do they ever. So get ready, because the thin line between love and hate is about to be crossed.
So... does anyone else feel like such a geek for using FF? I mean, no offense, but I feel like there are better things I could be doing with my time. Oh well. I like it. Screw you, playa hatas. :P
Oh and FYI as of today, my profile pic is of leg warmers. In case you wanted to know. Most likely not. Um... cough cough awkward cough. Formerly, it was a picture of a wombat, which can be found here. Message me if ya gots any questions or comments about ANYTHING! I love random facts and stories and questions, I wanna add 'em all to my collection of story ideas. Really. I have this cute little vase where I write down ideas on sticky notes and fold 'em up and toss them in. So in the "rare" occasion I have writer's block, I have a good resource to find a new idea.
Wow, I feel like a nerd for writing so much on my own profile page. But whatever, I'll manage... ok, I admit, I AM a nerd, no need to comment on that. Comment on anything else though. OH and if you're a Harry fanatic like me, you should totally watch "A Very Potter Musical" by StarkidPotter on youtube. Sooooooooooooo funny! :D
La la la la laaaaaaaa la.
I love Andy 6. He's hot, and a real inspiration! Check out his band, Black Veil Brides. They're amazing, and I love their songs. So listen! :))
:)) This is the double chin smiley. Use it for all those goofy smile needs. He has two chins because he is rather hefty.
