LATEST UPDATE 1/20/06
Things have been unbelievable here on the Gulf Coast of Miss since Katrina hit us. I lost almost everything in the hurricane. My home was hit by a tornado during the storm. Trying to rebuild my life has been a major challenge considering I am having to also be a morale booster for my children. Life is very, very hard. The devastion is unbelievable on our coast. Some are still living in tents in the bitter cold now. Some have died of hypothermia. The people of the Miss Gulf Coast definitely need your prayers. Also, my heartfelt thanks to all of you for your generosity with all the supplies and food and the hands-on help. It will take 5 years at least before we begin to gain some degree of normalcy.
Endless Love is not dead, it is just in hibernation. I am currently working on the 20th chapter. Hopefully within the next month I will have been productive.
Anyways, I am working on getting back on the Net and getting my act together. Miss you all...:) LuWanda

Finally, I'm back to writing again. Roughly a year after my mom died, I lost all ability to think, much less function as a whole. It was as if my mind locked up and refused to produce anything effectively. Everything that came out was fragmented and fractured beyond understanding. That was in 2003. So it has been a long time coming. I've always loved to create stories and poetry. At the time my mom died(she died in my arms), I still was able to create and as soon as I walked over from her house to mine(3:30a.m.), I sat down and began to write a poem in dedication of her. Actually, I wrote two poems... one for her and one for her and my dad(who had died in 1996). I read both poems at her funeral and both poems accompanied her to the grave. I held up admirably. That is, until about a year later when the hospice services had a memorial for her and those who had died while being patients of theirs. I had been asked to give a speech on her life. For once in my life, I became speechless and fell apart in front of the audience. That had never happened before in my life. I was always the strong one in the family. The one that my siblings looked to for answers(although I was the youngest). I don't even know why I am writing this now. Oh well...
Those two poems are posted on Fictionpress. Of course, I had to save copies of them, but the originals did go with Mama to the grave.
Endless Love is still in hibernation, lol. One day... maybe one day, I'll finish that one.
I've attempted to write in the Star Trek realm. This is proving to be an interesting challenge as Spock is extremely hard to write. The others are not as difficult. I have always loved Star Trek TOS since it first aired in the 60's. I was a small child then, but remember waiting in anticipation for Sunday nights to come. My parents, brothers and sisters and I would all sit together (7 of us) and watch the show as a family. The other three brothers and one sister, the oldest ones were married and watched it at their own homes. Yeah, I'm from a big family. I'm the youngest of 9 children. And yeah, I'm that old, lol. Forty-nine and holding.
Since those days, I have lost two children, three brothers, a sister and both parents.
At present, I am a wife and the mother of three sons, ages 21, 18, and 15. No grandchildren at present or upcoming, thank the Lord!
I hope this little bio didn't bore you too much. Sometimes, it's best to get things off your chest. I guess I just needed to today.

Hmmm, now that's interesting that the last update fell on the same day, one year ago. Lots of work going on. However, I have not forgotten my stories in progress. I should be uploading another chapter soon on 'Dearest Blood' and am considering writing in one area that has held my intense interest since I was a child... the Civil War. I hope to be back at-'em shortly, but am going to have to have surgery very soon. Maybe the recuperation time will allow me to write. Hopefully, the recuperation will not be so long, though. Nevertheless, I hope to get some writing done during that time frame.

OBITUARY FOR THE LATE MR. COMMON SENSE
Today we mourn the passing of a beloved old friend, Common Sense, who has been with us for many years. No one knows for sure how old he was, since his birth records were long ago lost in bureaucratic red tape.
He will be remembered as having cultivated such valuable lessons as: Knowing when to come in out of the rain; why the early bird gets the worm; Life isn't always fair; and Maybe it was my fault.
Common Sense lived by simple, sound financial policies (don't spend more than you can earn) and reliable strategies (adults, not children, are in charge). His health began to deteriorate rapidly when well-intentioned but overbearing regulations were set in place. Reports of a 6 year-old boy charged with sexual harassment for kissing a classmate; teens suspended from school for using mouthwash after lunch; and a teacher fired for reprimanding an unruly student, only worsened his condition.
Common Sense lost ground when parents attacked teachers for doing the job that they themselves had failed to do in disciplining their unruly children. It declined even further when schools were required to get Parental consent to administer Calpol, sun lotion or a band-aid to a student; but could not inform parents when a student became pregnant and wanted to have an abortion.
Common Sense lost the will to live as the Ten Commandments became contraband; churches became businesses; and criminals received better treatment than their victims.
Common Sense took a beating when you couldn't defend yourself from a burglar in your own home and the burglar could sue you for assault.
Common Sense finally gave up the will to live, after a woman failed to realize that a steaming cup of coffee was hot. She spilled a little in her lap, and was promptly awarded a huge settlement.
Common Sense was preceded in death by his parents, Truth and Trust; his wife, Discretion; his daughter, Responsibility; and his son, Reason.
He is survived by his 3 stepbrothers; I Know My Rights, Someone Else Is To Blame, and I'm A Victim. Not many attended his funeral because so few realized he was gone. If you still remember him, pass this on. If not, join the majority and do nothing.
