Author has written 4 stories for Legend of Zelda.
General: After realising it'd be much easier to manage these updates in a different way, I've decided to create a Tumblr blog for my fanfictions, which you can find here: rozen-caeyl(.)tumblr(.)com
I'll be putting up updates like the ones you see here, excerpts (one from chapter two should be up right now), and whatever else is related to me and my works. Note that I also dabble in original stories as well, so you may see a little bit of that as well. Feel free to PM me with any questions, or hey, now you can send an ask. c;
Gears of Fate: In a sudden explosion of motivation, I wrote 3000 words in just a few hours. And I'm happy with all of it. Holy shit. But the one downside is, is that it was all spent on chapter seven. I don't regret this at all however, because chapter seven is when shit really gets going. The end of chapter two should be a nice bit of cliffhanger and chapter three will be pretty much all action. Bear with me, I know things have been boring so far but we're getting there. Also, special thanks to the forum members CrystalRei, Hippothestrowl, Ragnelle, and Rhea Silverkeys over at Writer's Anonymous for helping me refine the summary and think more about the details of the story that I hadn't considered before. I suggest people head over there, it really is a supportive place with active, helpful members.
PM me with any questions you may have.
About The Author
Name: Jordan (Rozen or Caeyl work better)
First Language: English
Second Language: French
Aspirations: Programmer of some kind, author, living to tomorrow
Inspirations and My Writing Style: As I'm sure you've noticed if you've read any of my stories, they're rather... well, violent. I was raised on movies not meant for my age and various other elements of my life have made me attached to not only the physical depths of pain, but pain of that in the mind and soul. From intense action to heartbreaking emotional scenes, I often try to incorporate those things into my writing because it's something I simply enjoy writing about and it's what I know the most. I also strive to take my works in an original direction (sometimes too much so), as you can see by my current work Gears of Fate, a gritty, dark, yet heroic tale of a man with nothing left to lose facing his destiny laid before him by deities long since disregarded. This is in stark contrast to the generally warm and less harrowing tale of a Hylian Hero in the Legend of Zelda, but I believe that reworking the original material into something that the creators wouldn't have done is a core essence of fanfiction. That doesn't mean I wouldn't be able create a more traditional tale, but that's for another time. In regards to my style itself, I work as much detail as I possibly can without robbing the mind's eye the opportunity to create images of its own. Imagery is a very strong component of my writing. My word choice isn't always perfect for the situation as I often overlook that smaller more concise words could convey the message better, but I'm working hard on that. Anyway, I hope you enjoy reading my works, I really do put immeasurable amounts of thinking and time into every word.

The Soul Beneath
Full Summary: Link Hylia has worn the mask for as long as he could remember. He's worn it since his mother died and wears it to this very day. Two weeks at summer camp won't change it, he'll simply go through the motions of monotony. He just wasn't expecting a girl to take interest, to manage to peel back a corner of the mask and see the face beneath. The soul beneath.
Reason For Discontinuation: This story was started on a whim during a late summer day, mostly to help me deal with emotional troubles I was having. Since then, those troubles have slowly gone away so I lack the motivation to continue it. This is my most popular story (somehow) and although I wish I could continue it for the readers, I simply can't. Still worth a read, I think; there are a lot of things I like about how I wrote those three chapters.
Full Summary: Long ago, Hyrule was a golden land, filled with castles, fairies, and mythical Heroes. But that land is gone. Ages have passed, during which Hyrule has developed into a technological society, filled with pirates, drugs, and weapons. Faith in the Goddesses and the old ways have all but vanished. War wages on land and in the sky between the Gerudo and the Hylians while Sky Pirates raid unsuspecting merchant ships and warships alike, stealing anything they can get their hands on. Sky Ship Captain, Link Hylia does the same as the rest: he raids steals and plunders land and sky with his crew of the Sky Galley class ship Courage. One day, a violet-eyed woman changed his life forever. With the help of an unexpected friend, old legends will see the light of day once more and the Triforce will choose new owners.
Reason For Discontinuation: My first attempt at any sort of extended plot, Sky Pirates is my biggest failure and regret. The premise behind it has been salvaged and lives (heavily edited) on in Gears of Fate. Also started this one on a whim with no real plan. Was shitty as well, so no one'll miss it, lol.
