Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (JROTC) Bones and NCIS X-over: In a nutshell, the Bones and NCIS crew are put into a high school JROTC unit with Gibbs as the Enlisted Instructor and Vance as the Officer Instructor. I'm in Air Force JROTC so their might be a little confusion.
Things that should be made:
Buffy the Vampire Slayer and or Angel / Battle Los Angeles x-over. How epic would that be?!
Sometimes, being the best friend sucks.
Your mind is a lot like your wife. Losing it can be a blessing in disguise.
On the subject of sex, it's like combat: Keep your head covered. (*Slap!* Why am I so dirty?!)
Don't use thermite when C4 will do.
A deaf man and a blind woman make a happy couple.
On the subject of combat, it's like sex: always know what your partner is doing. (*Slap!* It wasn't nearly so dirty as the last time!)
9mm vs .45: Only for those who can't hit the X-Ring.
Don't go play: Go to war.
This plays in to the one above: When going to war, bring EVERYTHING.
I'd rather be a worthwhile Asshole than a wothless piece of shit.
Follow the rules: srew them over with a loophole.
Okay, I see a lot of inaccuracies about the military in fiction. And I get, I am guilty of it myself in some of my earlier stories. I'm open to giving the real deal about life in the military, the tactics, training, and other tidbits. Just remember these things:
WE ARE REAL PEOPLE. As soon as work is done, we mostly just Bruce Almighty our uniforms and go have some fun. We use a lot of slang like "Dog", "Dude", "Bro". We drink A LOT. It's a fact and borders on to be a real problem among us. Have you ever stepped out of a dorm room one day, and returned to find your room littered with beer cans and say, "Dude, did you have a party or something?"
"Nah, bro. Got wasted and played FIFA all night by myself."
"You got a problem, dog."
"I'm not even going to argue that because you're right."
"That's still impressive, though."
