Author has written 7 stories for Buffy: The Vampire Slayer, Star Trek: 2009, Marvel, DC Superheroes, Dresden Files, and Person of Interest.
As of early fall of 2015, I am dealing with a series of medical problems that are drastically limiting my ability to write, the biggest one explained by my profile image. I'll try to add parts to things, and to wrap up the ones that are unfinished, but I cannot make promises, folks. Sorry.
Aspiring author with a passing interest in fanfiction, but only in fandoms where the author/creator does not object to fanfiction. If an author objects, I will not write it -- and neither should anyone else. They give us their worlds to look into, but if they don't want us playing there, we should stay the hell out.
Fascinated by all things crime-prevention related, serious martial artist, armchair psychologist, grumpy old person (on occasion). Love role-playing games -- the REAL kind, pencil, paper and dice. MMORPGs aren't RPGs, and you can't convince me otherwise. I've played them, and they are NOT about role-playing.
Love science fiction and fantasy, some horror. No use for cyberpunk, steampunk, or any other kind of punk. Shadowrun nauseates me. The Star Wars franchise should have NEVER included episodes I, II and III. Some of the books are enjoyable, but none of the "series" of Star Wars novels published by Del Rey have been worth more than the match that it would take to burn them. STAR WARS IS NOT GOTH! IT IS NOT EMO! Yet Del Rey seems to think it's both... ("The Force Awakens," however, was a worthy entry to the series.)
Also a former comic book geek. As of Civil War and Final Crisis, I no longer freaking care at all. Too much stupid in too many crossovers and reboots -- keep it. I'll do my own comic stories, thanks.
While I am a fan of many things, I refuse to participate in fandom. It's the source of too much stupid.
If you make me mad, I'll write you into a story and either mock "story you" mercilessly or outright kill "story you" if you've spewed too much stupid. DWIOD.
I am extremely opinionated and don't care who knows it. If that bothers you... okay.
I DO NOT, UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES, WRITE ANYONE ELSE'S IDEAS, STORIES OR ORIGINAL CHARACTERS, SO PLEASE, DO NOT ASK!
As of March 25th 2015, using the term "Mary Sue" or any variant thereof in a review gets you blocked. That criticism is both lazy and MEANINGLESS! A survey-style use of the "Mary Sue Litmus Test" on the main three characters of the "Star Wars" trilogy results in Luke and Leia being ranked as "almost certainly a Mary Sue, and a bad one at that." Han missed it by one-point seven points. (Aggregate of 128 carefully proctored [as in "made sure the participants understood the rules"] tests.)
