Poll: I have a bunch of ideas for new K/S stories, but I can't decide which one I should work on first. Out of these types of fics, which one would you be most interested in reading? Vote Now!
Author has written 6 stories for StarTrek: The Original Series, and Junjō Romantica.
Thanks for stopping by! My name is Steph, and I am a Spockaholic.
...this is the part where everyone says, "Hi, Steph."
For anyone interested in getting to know the girl behind the Spock avatar (and anyone else reading just for the heck of it), let me tell you a bit about myself.
Me as a Fangirl: My Favorite Fandoms and Pairings
-Star Trek: TOS: Kirk/Spock. My fandom first love. Something about the Kirk/Spock relationship resonates with me on a deeper level than any of my other ships. I am also personally indebted to many of the wonderful people in this fandom whose stories and encouragement helped me to smile as I dealt with some not-so-fun stuff in real life.
-Junjou Romantica: Usagi/Misaki. My guilty pleasure fandom. I am way too emotionally invested in this highly dysfunctional and highly adorable pairing for my own good.
- Friends: Chandler/Monica. My binge watching fandom. Fun fact: I cry every time I watch the Monica and Chandler proposal scene. Every. Freaking. Time!
-Supernatural: Dean/Castiel. My newest fandom. I've been lapping up Destiel fics like crazy as of late. Omigosh, guys! Wing!kink! Need I say more? @_@
Me as a FanFiction Writer
-I am primarily a slash/yaoi writer. I may eventually play around with some het pairings in the future, but I'm at my happiest when I'm writing about boys with boys.
-My writing is mostly on the fluffy side, but I do like to throw in some angst now and then. I also tend to resort to crack when I'm struggling with writer's block and get to a point where I just say, "Ah, screw it; I'm gonna write the first ridiculous thing that comes to mind." My writing style is very much on the melodramatic side, which I blame on a childhood spent devouring V.C. Andrews books and thinking I was oh-so-grown-up :P
-I'm all about happy endings. I don't mind taking the characters to some dark places from time to time, but I prefer to end my stories on a positive note.
-I am a painfully slow writer. Seriously, it's awful. If you are reading this because you are following "Cupid's Cove," you can vouch for this.
Me as a FanFiction Reader
-I basically struggle with ANY sort of writing, whether it's my own fiction, or something as simple as a Facebook status. For this reason, I am not nearly as prolific with the reviewing as I would like to be. That said, if I have reviewed a story, it's because I see something special in it that makes me willing to spend the time agonizing over what to write in a review.
-I prefer not to spend time dwelling on what I don't like in fanfiction, so instead, here is a list of the stuff I go crazy for: fluff, adorkable interactions, slow-building romances, smutty smut, socially awkward characters, any sort of "posing as lovers" trope, kingdom AU's, angst with a happy ending, crack!fic. I also have a bizarre soft spot for badfic/trollfic, cuz I'm a bit of a goof. But really, if I can get hooked in by the quality of writing, I'll enjoy anything. I'm discerning, but not snobbish.
-For me, one of the best things ever is when I stumble across a brand new WIP, find out that it's freakin' awesome, and get to follow it all the way through to completion. Not sure why I thought to include that here, but there you go. :)
-I am currently on the hunt for Destiel stories (preferably completed) to distract me from my own writing, so if you're a Destiel writer and don't mind enabling me in my procrastination, feel free to send me a PM with a link to your story.
Me as a Person
-I am a huge fan of video games, which is partially why I don't have more stories on here. Some of my favorite games are Red Dead: Redemption, Dragon Age: Origins, the Harvest Moon series, the Animal Crossing series, the Legend of Zelda series, the Final Fantasy series, and the Tales of series. I like my series.
-My favorite author and biggest writing role model is Stephen King. There is almost never a point in my life where I am not reading or rereading one of his novels. My favorites are The Stand, Misery, and Pet Sematary.
-I have mild social anxiety and to most people, I come off as polite but slightly standoffish. But when I'm around my trusted people, I am constantly making up stupid songs, joking about things that would make the Huffington Post angry, and speaking fluent Donald Duck.
-My non-writing hobbies include drawing, binge-watching Netflix, participating in community theatre and reading manga. Lots and lots of manga.
Confessions of a Spockaholic
If you're reading this because you're wondering about "Cupid's Cove," I am happy to report that my latest chapter is (finally) well underway. It took forever to choose between nine possible chapter scenarios, but now that I've made up my mind, I feel like the silly thing is pretty much writing itself. It shouldn't be too much longer before I have it up and running...crossing my fingers that I can get it out by Valentine's Day at the latest.
In other news, I finally have a Twitter account! If you're a Twitter kind of person and want someone to fangirl with, feel free to hit me up (psst! I follow back). My Twitter handle is @MissSpockaholic. But be forewarned, I have recently realized that I am deeply and creepily in love with Misha Collins, so be prepared to see a lot of me making a right arse out of myself over him :D
